Chapter 373 Loyal Big Yellow

"Damn it, those slippery guys ran away? Didn't they promise to fight alongside me to the death? You guys better turn around and bring those guys back right now. Deserting in the face of battle, I'll deal with you when you get back!"

Just as Cui Zhen finished speaking, he suddenly sensed some movement in the surrounding area. He immediately looked over alertly, and then his vision blurred as he was knocked down by something heavy.

A vicious dog, as strong as a calf, was about to bite him in the neck. Cui Zhen was terrified and frantically pulled out a dagger from his waist.

Big Yellow didn't give him that chance and bit the other's arm hard.

With a sharp crack, Cui Zhen felt a sharp pain in his arm. He immediately released his grip, and the dagger fell to the side. He then opened his mouth and shouted loudly.

"Help me! Help me!"

The group of bewildered team members then realized it was Cui Zhen and immediately pulled out their pistols, preparing to shoot Da Huang.

Several gunshots rang out, shattering the silence of the camp and putting everyone on alert.

The old man, who was squatting behind the door, trembled with fright. The pipe he was holding fell to the ground, scattering hot ash everywhere. He didn't care and immediately opened the door a crack to look outside.

A giant yellow beast was seen weaving and dodging bullets among the crowd, with people falling to the ground from time to time.

"Damn it, they've finally come. You all hide, I'll stay here and keep watch!"

Grandpa drew back the crossbow, his hand trembling slightly as he pulled the trigger towards the person outside the door.

With a "whoosh," a silver crossbow bolt pierced through a person's back, and the person immediately collapsed to the ground as if struck by a heavy hammer.

Chaos immediately erupted in the crowd, and one man, clutching his arm in anger, no longer cared about telling the others to escape.

"Damn it, where did this dog come from!"

Cui Zhen cursed under his breath, hugged his arms, and slowly prepared to retreat.

The women in the camp all took out their weapons to provide support, but Grandpa desperately stopped them and started firing wildly at the outside with his crossbow.

Soon everyone collapsed to the ground, howling desperately, but no one was able to get up again.

Big Yellow bit off the last person's neck, released its grip, and stood in the cold wind, like a war god draped in a yellow cloak, letting the biting wind blow its fur.

Then Big Yellow wrinkled its nose and saw someone running away desperately in the distance. It arched its head and prepared to continue chasing after them, when Grandpa whistled.

"I'll leave this last bastard to me!"

After saying that, he pulled the trigger in a straight line, and with a whoosh, the crossbow bolt flew swiftly from the bow arm and shot straight in a vertical direction.

With a "thud," Cui Zhen felt a sharp pain in his back, and then he rolled a few times on the ground and fell face-first into the dirt.

He felt the heat draining from his body, and the crossbow bolt in his chest was reaping his life like the Grim Reaper.

"Damn it, people are starving in the dead of winter, and they still keep a dog!" Cui Zhen felt a chill run through his body.

He desperately curled up, trying to stop the cold wind from taking away his warmth, but there was no way he could do that. He convulsed a few times, felt his eyelids getting too heavy, and slowly closed his eyes, becoming a corpse in the cold winter.

Upon hearing the gunshot, Qi Liang panicked and rushed out of the room. He quickly received a message that Cui Zhen and the others were missing, and was just about to send someone to inquire about it.

Then he saw everyone leaning against the crack in the door looking out. He pushed through the crowd and glanced outside. He saw that Cui Zhen, who was almost at the cave entrance, suddenly fell down dozens of meters away from the entrance. He was curled up and died a moment later.

"Damn it, this bastard has ruined everything! How am I going to explain this to them now?!"

On the massive glacier, Lu Yuan and his companions dragged heavy blocks of ice, slowly making their way towards land.

When the last piece of ice was finally pulled onto land, everyone cheered excitedly.

"Take the machine out and test it first!"

Lu Yuan put on gloves and gently patted the huge cubic meter block of ice beside him: "This is ice left over from prehistoric times. I don't know if it carries any viruses, so I'm testing it first. Otherwise, if it gets into trouble after I take it back, it will be terrible!"

Xiwen quickly nodded, took out the equipment from his backpack, and began to test the ice.

However, after some testing, it was discovered that three out of the ten ice cubes contained an unknown virus.

Without these three pieces, they would be missing three tons of water, which was extremely important to them. Therefore, Lu Yuan once again proposed the plan to collect ice.

"The ice here doesn't seem to be good enough; it's too shallow. We need to find a cave; the ice there should be suitable!"

Xiwen adjusted his hat, which had been blown askew by the wind, and shouted, "When I was observing the area just now, I spotted an ice cave not far away. Shall we go check it out?"

Lu Yuan glanced in the direction the other person was pointing and saw that the distance wasn't very far, so he nodded: "Alright, let's go take a look first! Let's see what the ice in the cave is like!"
