Upon hearing Lu Yuan's words, the man burst into laughter.
"It seems that communication has not been restored on your end. Currently, communication is cut off in 90% of the world. But don't worry, it won't be long before communication is restored!"
Upon hearing this exciting news, everyone exchanged glances, their eyes filled with anticipation, as they all felt as if the whole world had abandoned them.
They have no idea what the situation is like outside, or what is happening around them. The entire tectonic plate has drifted to the deep sea region of Antarctica, where a large number of people die every day. They have no idea if they will be next, or how long they can hold on.
Upon hearing this news, everyone felt a sense of anticipation, hoping that communication would be restored as soon as possible.
Seeing the expressions on everyone's faces, the man seemed to have anticipated their expectations. He slightly grinned, and a crack immediately appeared on his lips, from which blood flowed out. He winced in pain.
"Oh dear, getting water here is so difficult! By the way, do you have any fuel stoves with you? We're almost out of fuel!"
The group quickly took out their respective alcohol stoves from their pockets and placed them in front of them. Upon seeing the alcohol stoves, the other group members immediately showed a look of surprise.
"You still have alcohol left? No way, fuels are supposed to be under control now!"
Lu Yuan smiled slightly: "Alcohol is very easy to obtain. Just find some materials and ferment them to get some alcohol. It's not particularly difficult!"
"That's great! I'll go boil some water first. Please have a seat. I happen to have some food here. They used to be protected species, but now we have to catch them for food!"
Then the other person patted the snow off their body and went to a nearby place to get a fire stand and burned it for a while.
Seeing the faint glow of the fire, people quickly gathered around and began to warm themselves on the small alcohol stove.
The man seemed very talkative, and there was no secret in his words. He gently took off his hat and scratched his long hair.
"Right? Since we're all Chinese, there's nothing to hide. My name is Zhou Zhihao, and I'm the captain of Team Five!"
"Hello, Captain Zhou, it's a pleasure to meet you!"
The other person smiled, then took out a piece of fatty meat from his pocket and placed it on the stove to roast. While roasting, he sprinkled some seasonings on it, and immediately the aroma of the meat filled the air, filling the entire cave with a rich fragrance.
Everyone had been busy for a long time and hadn't had a proper meal. Although the meat didn't look very appetizing, it was rich in fat, which was a good way to replenish the body's fat.
The other person cut off a piece of meat from the top, put it in their mouth, tasted it, and nodded in satisfaction: "Hmm, really good, try it, this is good stuff, it's very nutritious!"
So Lu Yuan and the others quickly got to work, cutting off a few pieces of meat and stuffing them into their mouths. They found the meat to be rich in oil and very tender. Compared to ordinary fish, it had more oil, but the texture was similar to pork, except it didn't have the layered fibrous texture of pork. However, the fishy smell was too strong, and the group didn't find it particularly pleasant to eat.
Seeing that the other party was so polite, Lu Yuan had nothing to hide and took out some dried beef from his pocket and put it on the fire stand.
"This is some beef we brought from the camp. Everyone, please have some. It tastes pretty good; it's already marinated!"
Upon hearing this, Zhou Zhihao's eyes lit up with a golden light. He looked at Lu Yuan with great surprise: "What? You still have beef here? No way? Wasn't that supposed to be extinct?"
"Huh? Cattle are extinct? No way, all the cattle outside are extinct?" Lu Yuan was also somewhat incredulous that even the most common domestic animal, cattle, had become extinct in the outside world.
Zhou Zhihao sighed, "Alas, to be honest, there are very few domesticated animals left in the outside world. Cattle are said to be extinct, but there are actually a small number left in laboratories. However, they are all used as experimental subjects for research. They are all kept in the laboratory, and people outside have no contact with them at all. So, it is said to be extinct. You can't eat them or see them, so it's pretty much true!"
The group of people were immediately filled with emotion. Their daily diet consisted mainly of vegetables and bean products, with meat primarily consisting of poultry and livestock. They never imagined that they couldn't even find beef outside.
After a simple meal, everyone felt that they had regained some strength. At this moment, a few more people walked over from a distance, carrying tools in their hands and radiating heat from their bodies.
Upon seeing Lu Yuan and his group, he cautiously reached for his gun, but was stopped by Zhou Zhihao.
"Put down your guns, these are all our friends! This is Lu Yuan, the person in charge of this camp! You guys probably haven't eaten yet, right? There's some meat left over here, come and eat some!"
Upon hearing Zhou Zhihao's words, the men immediately lowered their guns, their wary expressions vanished, and they looked at Lu Yuan and his group with a hint of surprise.
"There must be other people on this island, right? How come we never noticed them before?"
Lu Yuan smiled. When the temperature first dropped, they all hid in their respective caves and didn't leave for a month.
Moreover, their location was remote and the roads were difficult to travel, making it virtually impossible for these people to investigate the entire island. As for what was happening outside, Lu Yuan still didn't know, but from the tone of the other party, he could guess that most of the people outside were either dead or had found their own caves to hide in.
