Shi Quan inspected very slowly, personally checking every minute detail. Although he had already checked twice, he was still somewhat uneasy.
More and more people gathered around, but Lu Yuan didn't stop them. After all, they were free to go wherever they wanted, and he didn't want to have any conflict with them. He just wanted to continue the flight test as soon as possible and see if it could be successfully completed.
Sun Tian stood in the crowd, looking at Shi Quan, who was busy in the distance, and Lu Yuan and his family who were waiting, with a hint of disdain on his face.
Suddenly, someone gently touched his arm. He turned his head and saw that it was Chief Designer Chen.
"Chen Yun? You're here too?"
Chen Yun nodded slightly: "I'm getting sick from being cooped up in the cave, I need to get some fresh air!"
Sun Tian knew what he was thinking, of course, and didn't say much, but simply pointed to the group of Shi Quan who were inspecting the plane in the distance.
Do you think they can get this plane running successfully?
Chen Yun's face showed a hint of smugness: "Hehe, this Apache helicopter is the most advanced weapon in the United States. With those few clumsy hands, they think they can fix this plane? It's a joke!"
Upon hearing Chen Yun's words, a smug look appeared on Sun Tian's face, as if he could already foresee the other party's inevitable demise.
"Haha, these bastards really don't know what's good for them, they actually rejected my kindness several times!"
"It's alright, they'll come looking for us again, don't worry!" Chen Yun didn't know where his confidence came from, he just watched them go.
After working for a while, Shi Quan waved to everyone after finishing the last inspection at the last checkpoint.
"Everything is confirmed to be correct; all areas have been checked! Test flight is permitted!"
Lu Yuan nodded, then looked at them: "If it's possible, let's do a test flight as soon as possible, but please be sure to pay attention to your personal safety!"
Shi Quan didn't say much. He took a backpack from the person next to him and sat in the cockpit. After all, there were no professional pilots around, and he was the only one who could control this armed helicopter.
Shi Quan gently closed the canopy of the aircraft and took a deep breath.
Lu Yuan stood not far away, his eyes slightly closed, revealing a sense of tranquility. However, he was genuinely worried. If the plan failed, their Plan A would truly be over.
If they traveled directly by sea, their journey would be extremely slow.
Then, the plane's engine slowly emitted a loud bang, and the entire plane began to tremble slightly.
Behind the exhaust pipe, there was some ice that had been frozen and had not yet melted, which slowly flowed out as the temperature rose.
Soon, the engine drove the propeller to spin continuously in the air, and the huge wings made a whooshing sound, which complemented the biting cold wind.
The propellers spun faster and faster, and the noise grew louder and louder. Everyone felt as if the wind and sand around them were being swept up, and soon a thin layer of dust filled the surrounding area.
Sitting in the cockpit, Shi Quan was filled with fear. He wasn't worried about his own life; he was worried that if the test flight failed, all their efforts would be wasted.
All the benefits Lu Yuan had promised him would slip through his fingers, and his only daughter, his only family, would make his future life even more miserable.
The people from the East District stood by with their arms crossed, watching him as if it were a spectacle, while the people from the West District looked on with a glimmer of hope. They felt that this test flight would be successful, and if the takeoff was indeed successful, perhaps they could get a spot from Lu Yuan and fly away with the plane, leaving this godforsaken place.
The noise from the plane grew louder and louder, but it still couldn't take off and circled in the air for more than ten minutes.
Zhou Tong, standing to the side, was also somewhat nervous. He didn't even realize that the cigarette in his mouth had been blown away by the wind, leaving only a small piece that was about to burn his mouth.
"Why isn't it flying yet? Logically, this warm-up time should be enough!"
Lu Yuan shook his head slightly. He didn't know why the other party hadn't taken off yet, but he had a feeling that this flight would be full of danger.
"Wait a little longer, I guess he wants to warm it up a bit more and let the temperature inside the plane rise!"
Xiao Shan stood to the side, holding Lu Yuan's arm tightly, her body trembling slightly. She could even feel Lu Yuan's heartbeat quickening as the memories swirled around him.
"Fly, fly quickly!"
Xiao Shan couldn't help but call out softly.
Then, the plane in the distance slowly took off, but the biting cold wind was blowing against its fuselage, causing the entire plane to shake violently. Shi Quan sat in the control room of the cockpit, gripping the control stick as tightly as possible to prevent the plane from rolling over.
Twenty centimeters, thirty centimeters, half a meter, one meter...
As the altitude increased, the fuselage continued to sway in the biting cold wind. The difficulty of this flight far exceeded that of ordinary flights. Moreover, Shi Quan had only been an aircraft assembly worker before, and his piloting skills were limited to a few lessons learned in the factory. He had never even flown for a full day.
