Qi Liang stood on a high platform, holding a gun in his hand, and pulled the trigger towards the sky.
A gunshot rang out, and the chaotic crowd immediately quieted down, though everyone's faces still carried a hint of anger.
"Shut the hell up! I found the boat, so I get to decide whether to leave! We've already compiled the passenger list, but the screening process will continue. Everyone has a chance to leave now, so just wait patiently!"
As soon as he finished speaking, the crowd below the stage erupted into chaos again. However, this time his firing of the gun was less effective. It was a matter of life and death. Everyone knew what might happen next, but they didn't know exactly what would happen. All they could do was wait patiently.
But as time went on, everyone's patience wore thin, especially as they watched wave after wave of workers being called to the beach and then returning with excited expressions. They knew that Qi Liang intended to abandon some of them.
But if they could survive, why not give themselves a chance? So they decided to find Qi Liang and explain the situation. They didn't want to be abandoned here for no reason; they wanted to go with the ship.
Standing on the high platform, Qi Liang glanced at the chaotic crowd and suddenly felt a wave of weakness wash over him. He gave a signal to the people beside him, and immediately dozens of people took out their guns and began to maintain order.
Then he jumped down from the platform and happened to see Lu Yuan, who had just returned. He walked over with a sense of smugness in his heart.
"Hey, Boss Lu, where have you been?"
"Hmph, do I need to report to you where I'm going?" Lu Yuan glanced at the other person and continued walking forward, showing no intention of stopping.
Qi Liang was extremely excited because the ship was about to be repaired. He wasn't angry at Lu Yuan's attitude; instead, he chased after him.
"Boss Lu, I heard you're planning to travel by both sea and air. How about we team up and go to Taipingzhou together?"
Upon hearing the other person's words, Lu Yuan's expression tightened. He turned to look at the other person: "Taipingzhou? How do you know about this?"
Qi Liang looked around with a smug expression, then whispered mysteriously in Lu Yuan's ear, "Of course, it's an exclusive report. Don't say I'm not being fair, brother. I have precise information and know the exact location of Taipingzhou. If we travel together, we can look after each other on the way. You just need to provide us with a small amount of food, and we'll guide you. What do you think?"
Lu Yuan suddenly realized that the other party was so eager to curry favor with him because they were worried that something might happen on the way, which was why they were so eager to find him.
Moreover, their food supply was already insufficient. The extravagant spending of the large group in the western district had already depleted their food reserves. Now, they had to pay an even greater price to successfully repair these ships. They were about to leave, but their preparations were incomplete. That's why he turned his attention to Lu Yuan.
"Sorry, we also have our own channels!" Lu Yuan didn't actually want to cooperate with the other party.
Qi Liang is a man of principle in his speech and actions, but he is also a ruthless person at heart. Cooperating with him would be like asking a tiger for its skin. Lu Yuan doesn't need any allies. As for the information about Taiping Prefecture that Qi Liang mentioned, Lu Yuan thinks it was probably leaked by someone from his own side.
Upon hearing Lu Yuan say that they also had access, Qi Liang was not only shocked, but also moved closer after his eyes darted around: "Could it be that you also found out about the radio station's resumption?"
Lu Yuan felt a pang of anxiety upon hearing this, realizing who had leaked the information and that they had even managed to crack the radio broadcast first.
Damn it, those two are so loose-lipped! They actually leaked such confidential information!
Lu Yuan couldn't help but curse inwardly, and suddenly had the urge to kill those two people.
He ignored Qi Liang who was following beside him and strode towards his camp. Qi Liang, seeing that he had been rebuffed, spat on the ground and cursed under his breath, "What the hell are you pretending for? In the end, you'll still have to beg me to come with you guys!"
Thinking of this, Qi Liang stopped following Lu Yuan and turned back to his camp to look at the returning crowd. He couldn't help but want to shoot and kill a few of the leaders, but if he shot and killed a few people under these circumstances, it would definitely cause a huge riot.
Although he is nominally the leader of this camp, everyone knows how he got to this position. If a riot were to break out now, before the ships have been repaired, his plan might even be shelved.
He had to calm these people down, but some bastard had leaked his secret, and they even knew the list of people. So he was currently overwhelmed with work, trying to deal with this situation. He also needed to get the ship repaired first, and then he could come back and deal with these people slowly.
Lu Yuan angrily pushed open the door to the room with a loud bang, startling everyone in the house. Lu's mother put down the spatula in her hand and came over.
Seeing that Lu Yuan's expression was off, she quickly pulled him aside and whispered, "Yuan, what's wrong? You don't look well. Did someone upset you again?"
"Mom, it's just a small matter!" Lu Yuanqiang forced a smile and then walked directly into the room where the radio was kept.
