"Let me tell you, you absolutely have no chance!"
"Hehe! Alright! Since you say there's no chance, how about we make a bet?"
The other person glanced at Zhong Rui: "What do you want to bet?"
“Let’s bet on whether I can get ashore! If I do, you’ll obediently lead the way to the black market! If I can’t get ashore, then… then I’ll give you a life jacket! You can escape on your own! How about that?” Zhong Rui stared into the other person’s eyes, a slight smile playing on his lips.
The prisoner only wanted to escape and didn't care about the bet Lu Yuan had proposed. However, he was now being closely watched by Lu Yuan and had no way to get away.
"Fine! I'll bet!" the prisoner said insincerely.
Lu Yuan nodded and sat back down in his chair without saying a word.
The prisoner breathed a sigh of relief and slowly moved his left foot back again until his left hand could touch his heel, at which point he relaxed slightly.
Then, the prisoner took a deep breath and slowly put his left hand under his left foot.
He tested the position and felt it was okay. He took another deep breath, gritted his teeth, and suddenly pushed off with his left foot.
A faint "crack" sound rang out, and the prisoner's eyes nearly popped out of their sockets. His eyes showed waves of pain, but he clenched his teeth tightly and dared not make a sound.
Fortunately, Lu Yuan was sitting by the window, and with the wind howling outside, he didn't hear the sound at all.
His eyes were fixed on the nautical charts and instruments.
The prisoner was panting heavily, and the pain in his left hand made his whole body tremble. If anyone were there, they would have noticed that the prisoner's left thumb had been completely displaced and was bent deeply into his palm at an odd angle.
He slowly pulled his left hand out of the chain. After a short while, the prisoner's hand was finally free. He slowly stood up, then gripped the chain with his right hand and held the other end of the chain with four fingers of his left hand, and slowly moved forward.
One step, two steps, three steps...
With each step, the prisoner felt his heart race several times faster. He knew there was no turning back once the arrow was released; if he wanted to escape, he had to kill Lu Yuan. He had no other choice.
However, just as he walked behind Lu Yuan, a loud bang suddenly came from the sea outside the glass window, followed by a bright flame that shot into the sky, with fireballs constantly scattering outwards from the flames.
Flames shot into the sky, and screams and explosions could be heard from a great distance.
The prisoner froze for a moment.
That...that's exactly what my pirate ship looks like!
But what was that thing that just leaped out of the sea? How could it be so big? Could it be some kind of submarine or something similar in the sea?
His mind was in turmoil, and for a moment he was lost in thought.
It wasn't until Lu Yuan turned around and looked at the other person that he saw a hint of mockery in his eyes.
"Heh! You finally took your hand out!"
A voice suddenly rang out, interrupting the prisoner's thoughts. Only then did he realize that his momentary lapse in concentration had caused him to miss such a good opportunity.
He gritted his teeth, then grabbed the iron chain and lunged at Lu Yuan.
Then Lu Yuan simply took a dark pistol out of his pocket and pointed it at the other person.
"What, not gambling anymore?"
The prisoner's legs suddenly went weak, and he felt like a little bird being played with in the palm of someone's hand.
"Who...who exactly are you?" The prisoner looked at Lu Yuan with fear and confusion in his eyes.
"Heh! Ordinary people! Just like you! Just like the millions of others who can't get in, waiting to enter the underground fortress!" Lu Yuan reached out and took the iron chain from the other person's hand.
"Did you have weapons on your ship? Did you attack pirates?"
Zhong Rui shrugged: "Only half right. We did attack the pirates, but we had no weapons! Oh, right, except for this gun I have!"
"Impossible! Impossible! If you hit them, they will definitely retaliate fiercely! They won't let you kill their people at will! They will take revenge!"
The prisoner's face was filled with fear and panic. He knew how vengeful the pirates were; once someone killed one of their men, they would do everything in their power to eliminate that person.
"Whatever! They should think about how to solve their own problems first!"
Lu Yuan looked into the distance with an indifferent expression, as if the distant firelight had nothing to do with him.
At this moment, half of the frigate's hull had been shot off, and the remaining half was sinking desperately. The people on the deck grabbed the ship's side one by one, trying to avoid falling in, but the ship was sinking too fast, and they didn't have time to react. They only felt the ship shake violently, and then it broke into two pieces.
As for the strange thing that had just appeared, they hadn't even gotten a clear look at it.
The behemoth swam around the area, its massive body undulating, before leaping up again. Its enormous body, like a ten-thousand-ton ship, plummeted from the sky, followed by a loud "crack," and another ship sank into the sea.
Several lieutenants clung desperately to the broken planks, drifting on the sea, their bodies trembling. They had no idea what had just happened or why there was such a huge monster.
One loud bang after another rang out, and all seven ships were sunk. Ship debris and pirates trying to survive floated everywhere on the sea. They tried to wave their arms to swim back to shore, but the temperature of minus twenty degrees Celsius froze their hands and feet stiff. Before they could even move, they felt their hands and feet go numb from the cold.
