Chapter 405 The Giant Beast Returns Home

After gently stroking the back of the giant beast, Lu Yuan emerged from the dimensional space.

Those standing on the shore seemed to feel the huge tremors underwater, especially after a bright flash of light came from the seabed, and they realized that something might have happened.

The man wearing a cotton cloak stood on the shore and saw this scene, and suddenly his heart was jolted.

"Is it still possible to contact the people on board? Get the people in the submarine back to port immediately."

The communications officer next to him quickly grabbed the communication equipment and tried to make a call, but all he heard was static.

After more than ten minutes, the liaison officer still hadn't received any news from the submarine, and the man's face froze.

The short, stout young man in charge of making the contact ran over, his face covered in sweat and his expression showing a hint of nervousness.

"Brother Han, this is bad! The submarine has been confirmed to have been sunk. We just found the wreckage on the sea."

The young man's face twitched slightly; he seemed unable to believe it was true.

"Impossible, absolutely impossible! That's the flash of light from when the giant beast was hit!"

Seeing the somewhat crazed young man, the short, chubby youth gently patted him on the shoulder.

"Brother Han, it really was a submarine attacked! These are the pieces that were salvaged!"

He then took a piece of debris out of the plastic bag and handed it to the young man.

The young man took the wreckage and glanced at it, feeling a little dizzy.

"Send people to investigate immediately and find out where this beast came from. I want to see where this giant beast came from."

The slightly chubby young man didn't dare to say a word of dissent at that moment; he could only run away in a panic.

The young man gently took off his hat, exposing himself to the cold wind inside, his expression somewhat ferocious.

"Damn it, how dare you destroy my fleet! I'll definitely catch you!"

The young man roared, then turned and got into a car and drove into the city behind.

The car stopped briefly. Several tanks were parked at the city gate, and various kinds of barbed wire were hung on the high city walls, guarded everywhere. They were well-equipped and kept their eyes fixed on the road they had come from.

After the young man showed his identification, the guard at the gate saluted him and then waved to the person who was controlling the door. Only then did the person open the gate, and the scene inside was immediately revealed the moment it opened.

Everyone wore expressions of tension mixed with anticipation, especially after the car drove into the city, when they all showed expressions of envy and resentment.

"Pah, these bastards are just plundering our resources. They have so many spots in their hands, but they won't let us in. One day they'll die at someone else's hands."

"Don't say anything more. The patrol officers around here are very cunning. If they hear you say that, they'll definitely lose their heads."

"Since I can't get in anyway, I might as well curse him a few more times than wait to die here. That way I'll feel a little better."

The two of them crouched awkwardly in the corner, watching the car drive away, their hearts filled with envy and resentment.

The car sped along until it arrived at a huge iron gate, which appeared to be a large camp filled with all sorts of elite troops.

Their weapons were very advanced, and their uniforms were quite different from those of the previous Chinese army.

The young man parked his car in front of a huge tent, got out, and several guards saluted him before opening the tent.

A middle-aged man with gray hair was sitting in the tent reviewing a report when he looked up at someone outside.

"Chen Han, now that you're here, just find somewhere to sit."

Chen Han nodded and sat down on the sofa next to him, his expression somewhat ferocious.

After the middle-aged man finished his work, he put his work aside, took out a box of cigars from the table, and handed one to Chen Han.

"What's wrong? You don't look well. Did something happen?"

"Did you hear the explosion outside?"

The middle-aged man nodded: "Of course I heard it. How could I not hear such a loud explosion? Did you manage to get your hands on another merchant ship? Or did you fail to get anything?"

"No, our fleet is finished. Now we have no escort ships, only a few small boats left. We can no longer organize an effective force."

As soon as Chen Han finished speaking, the middle-aged man stood up with a look of astonishment on his face.

"What? You're saying our fleet is gone?"

Chen Han nodded: "Yes, that's all."

"Damn it, you've just thrown away our bargaining chip in the negotiations with the underground fortress like this! What kind of job is this?" the middle-aged man roared angrily.

Chen Han stood up at this moment, her face expressionless and her head bowed.

"Damn it, my fleet is gone just like that. How are we supposed to get these high-ranking officers' identification tags now! Check them out immediately and see what's going on. I need to mobilize the army right now and wipe these guys out."

Chen Han reached into his pocket and pulled out a file, placing it on the table. The other person glanced at it and asked, "What is this?"

"The investigation revealed that the attack on us was not by other ships, but by a giant beast. After testing, it was determined to be a mutated carp spirit. According to our detection, this carp spirit is 800 meters long and weighs thousands of tons. Moreover, its scales are extremely tough. We have test reports on them. Our bullets simply cannot penetrate them. Only large-scale weapons and anti-materiel weapons can be used."
