Chapter 406 The Competitor for Ten Million

Although Grandpa was still holding on, his trembling legs showed that he had truly reached the limit of his body.

After settling his family, Lu Yuan made a plan: he would have everyone prepare what they needed to prepare, and then he would take the people with him to submit the materials and get the review number.

So everyone grabbed their pens and paper and began filling out their personal files. Ma Bin stood there somewhat bewildered, because as a member of the black market, he was not required to undergo any screening; he simply had to wait to enter the underground fortress.

After Lu Yuan finished filling out his personal file form, he looked up at the other person and asked, "Why aren't you filling it out?"

"Well, we don't need people in the black market. We just need to wait for the entry slots."

Seeing the other person's nonchalant expression, Lu Yuan scoffed, "Do you think you have a chance to get in? How many people are there in your black market? How many people are here? You can't possibly monopolize all 200,000 spots, can you?"

Ma Bin then realized that Lu Yuan had brought up something he had never dared to imagine before, and he immediately panicked.

"Impossible. The higher-ups have already agreed that we can go in without any screening."

"Alright, since that's what you think, then I won't worry about it anymore. I'll fill out this review form first, and after we get our own tokens, you can take us to find the people in the black market."

Ma Bin hesitated for a moment: "Never mind, I'll go with you guys. Do you have any paper or pens I can borrow?"

Lu Yuan tossed a pen to the other person: "You have ten minutes to fill this out and then we'll leave."

Ma Bin quickly took the paper and pen and began filling in his personal information.

Lu Yuan, along with Zhou Tong, Xi Wen, and the others, carrying a thick stack of files, arrived at the camp entrance and began to line up.

The line at the camp entrance was so long it was invisible. It was divided into five groups, and the people at the front would only move a single step after a long time, making the line hundreds of meters long. It was still growing; just as Lu Yuan hesitated for a moment, dozens more people joined the line.

"Stop dawdling and hurry up and line up. Everyone stand in a group, and let's try to submit our files as soon as possible."

Lu Yuan took the file and walked to the front, placing it at the end of the line. The others took their places in other areas to wait, each holding a thick stack of files.

It took a long time for the line to move forward even a little. Lu Yuan sighed, there was nothing he could do.

Suddenly, a commotion broke out in the line ahead. Lu Yuan listened carefully and it seemed that someone was arguing. Bored, Lu Yuan tiptoed and looked ahead.

Two men were seen arguing, seemingly over a dispute about cutting in line.

"What the hell gives you the right to cut in line? Get to the back right now."

"You son of a bitch, this is my spot. I was just taking a piss over there."

"Hmph! Then you can't blame anyone else. Go out and pee by yourself. If you miss this opportunity, we definitely can't save you a spot. Hurry up and line up, or you'll get a beating."

The two started arguing and there was a hint that they were about to fight.

No one around intervened; they all stood by with their arms crossed, watching the show, seemingly more interested in seeing the two fight.

Suddenly, a few members of the disciplinary team walked over from a distance, squeezing into the crowd with gaming sticks in their hands.

"What are you doing? If you don't want to be investigated, get out of here! What are you shouting about?"

One of them quickly shouted, "Sir, this guy is cutting in line and he's trying to hit people!"

"Bullshit! I didn't say a word. My spot was mine to begin with. I was just going to take a piss, and you took my place."

The two sides started arguing, each sticking to their own opinions. A cold glint appeared in the eyes of one of the disciplinary team members, and then he grabbed one of them by the shoulder and pulled him back.

"You two come with me over there, and the rest of you follow. No noise. No fighting. That's the rule. Anyone who fights will be dragged out."

The police officers pointed their electric batons at the two men, who were immediately stunned. They looked pleading and begged for mercy.

"Sir, please have mercy! We've been queuing for two days already. You're driving us to our deaths!"

"Yes, sir, I won't cut in line anymore, okay? I'll wait in the back. Please don't put my name on your file."

The inspector still looked at the two of them arrogantly: "Stop talking nonsense, you're both fired now. Give me your files."

The two men clutched their files tightly to their chests, refusing to hand them over. Seeing this, the inspector suddenly pulled out a stun gun and jabbed one of them hard in the ribs. The intense electric current crackled, and the man who was shocked convulsed and collapsed to the ground.

After a while, the man recovered somewhat. When he looked at the patrol officers again, his eyes were filled with anger, but he still dared not make a move, because there was only one outcome here: death.

After seeing this scene from a distance, Lu Yuan roughly understood what was going on. The people here treated human life as nothing, because so many people wanted to enter this underground fortress, and they tried every means to get here.
