The task remained unfinished throughout the entire day.
When the bell rang to signal the end of the workday, everyone silently picked up the various damaged tools from the ground.
"Let's go, what's meant to happen will happen!"
Lu Yuan's voice was slightly low; he didn't want to say anything more right now.
It's obvious they were being targeted. If they weren't, they would never have been assigned to such a dilapidated place to do a task that was impossible to complete.
When everyone gathered in the square, Gu Wenzhong stood on the high platform, holding a megaphone and looking around.
Some people had relaxed and carefree expressions on their faces, while others looked slightly troubled. Some had already collapsed on the ground from exhaustion, while Lu Yuan and his group remained silent, their eyes filled with annoyance.
"I wonder how everyone's tasks went today. Group leaders, come to me and report on your progress!"
Xiao Shan's eyes showed a hint of panic. She looked at Lu Yuan and gently took his hand.
"It's okay, at worst we'll just leave this place!"
Lu Yuan rubbed Xiao Shan's face: "Yeah, it's okay, we can just leave. I don't care about this awful place, I don't want to stay here for another second!"
Then Lu Yuan glanced at the others, nodded silently to them, and walked towards the platform without looking back.
The members of the first group had smiles on their faces. When the consultant walked up to him, he immediately handed over the notebook he was holding.
"Boss Gu's mission is complete, please inspect!"
Gu Wenzhong took the task book expressionlessly, then opened it and found a checkmark in the parentheses next to the completed task.
"Yes, keep it up!"
In fact, Gu Wenzhong walked to the second person, whose face was not very pleasant, but he still respectfully handed over the task book in his hand.
"What happened? The mission wasn't completed?"
Fear flashed in the other person's eyes: "Boss Gu, let me explain. The ground there was too hard. It took us a lot of effort to get these things together!"

A hint of annoyance appeared on Gu Wenzhong's face.
"Why can everyone else complete their tasks, but your team can't complete even a little bit? If you put your heart into it, how could you not be able to do anything?"
"Hehe, you should know this better than anyone else, there's no need for me to say it out loud."
Gu Wenzhong continued to play dumb: "What do you mean? Are you saying that I deliberately made trouble for you?"
You know best in your heart whether it's true or not.
"Who do you think you are, daring to talk to me like that? Do you believe I'll send your entire squad out right now? There are plenty of people outside trying to get in."
Lu Yuan shrugged: "Whatever."
After saying that, Lu Yuan had no reason to pay attention to the other party, so he returned directly to his group and waved to everyone.
"Let's go back to eat and sleep."
All eyes were on Lu Yuan. Zhou Tong and the others threw all their broken shovels and other tools on the ground and followed closely behind Lu Yuan.
A few people were worried that Gu Wenzhong would retaliate against them, so they didn't follow him for a while. But seeing everyone else leaving one by one behind Lu Yuan, they could only grit their teeth and follow.
Gu Wenzhong felt his pride was greatly challenged in front of everyone, and he angrily threw Lu Yuan's task book on the ground.
"Who the hell do you think you are, daring to talk back to me like that? Do you believe I'll fire you all right now?"
Lu Yuan didn't even turn his head, and simply extended his middle finger.
"You'll come back kneeling before me begging for my life sooner or later!"
Gu Wenzhong was furious. He shouted at the top of his lungs, "They'll only get to eat when they finish their tasks for the day!"
A hint of annoyance flashed across Lu Yuan's eyes. He waved his hand, signaling everyone to return to the camp to rest, while the other captains stood in place waiting for Gu Wenzhong's instructions.
Suddenly, the tall, thin man rubbed the dry skin on his face, rolled his eyes twice, and immediately leaned closer.
"Boss Gu, this guy is so disrespectful. How about we teach him a lesson for you?"
Gu Wenzhong glanced at the other party and snorted disdainfully: "Hmph, do you need to do anything? If I wanted to kill him, it would be as easy as killing an ant."
