The boy had barely finished speaking when everyone in the tent was stunned.
Liu Dafa, who had just put the rice bowl into the box, felt a chill run down his spine. He had originally planned to avoid contact with it in the future.
In truth, he didn't want to be enemies with Lu Yuan. Since the great disaster, he had seen countless people like Lu Yuan survive and live better lives than them. They had better opportunities to make a living. So, his previous attempts to befriend Lu Yuan were partly motivated by a little ulterior motive: to become friends with Lu Yuan so that he could benefit from the situation when he needed help or when Lu Yuan became stronger.
However, just a few days later, Lu Yuan clashed with Gu Wenzhong, the BOSS of Camp 103. Although he didn't know why there was a conflict and couldn't understand the intentions of his superiors, he just thought that Lu Yuan and his team would definitely have a solution.
However, it seems that Lu Yuan and his group have no other options. They have no chance to change jobs, no food supply, and even survival has become a problem. How could they possibly have a chance to turn things around?
My second aunt spoke up: "Don't let him in!"
The boy hesitated for a moment: "But how do I tell him?"
"Just say we're not here! Let him leave!"
"oh!"
The boy nodded and prepared to leave, but suddenly turned his head as if he had bumped into a wall. He rubbed his nose and looked up to see a tall young man with a faint scar at the corner of his eye, who was smiling at the people in the room.
"You...how did you just follow me in?"
"Haha! It's nothing! I just came to familiarize myself with the place! You go ahead and get busy!" Lu Yuan patted the boy's shoulder gently and laughed.
The little boy was momentarily at a loss. He shifted his gaze to Liu Dafa, and then to his aunt's sharp face.
A hint of annoyance flashed across the second aunt's face, and then she glared at Liu Dafa, who simply ignored her as if he hadn't seen her.
"Ahem! Oh, it's Brother Lu!"
"Yes! It seems my older brother just got a cold shoulder from you!" Lu Yuan said with a smile.
Liu Dafa's face turned bright red. He clearly hadn't expected Lu Yuan to bring up the old topic again, probably because he hadn't taken what had just happened seriously.
"Well... we're really having a tough time here! You know, food is rationed right now, and everyone's starving, let alone borrowing! Plus, we have to work until really late every day! So... I'm really sorry, brother, it's not that we don't want to help, it's just that we can't!"
"It's nothing, it's nothing! I didn't come here today for this!" Lu Yuan quickly explained.
Liu Dafa and the others exchanged glances, wondering what Lu Yuan wanted to do.
"Brother Lu, what brings you here this time...?"
"Oh! I just wanted to get acquainted with the place! I'll come over and chat with you sometime!"
Everyone was dumbfounded. Lu Yuan hadn't come to borrow grain or inquire about information; he was just visiting. What kind of nonsense was this? Had he lost his mind?
Liu Dafa didn't know what to say, so he could only give a dry laugh.
Then, a group of people just laughed like idiots. Nobody knew why they were laughing, but they just laughed along with everyone else.
After a while, Lu Yuan looked at the other person and then took out a pack of cigarettes.
"Brother Liu, do you smoke?"
Liu Dafa was clearly still not in a daze; he stretched his finger forward and then pulled it back.
"Cough cough! No, thank you!"
Lu Yuan lit a cigarette and took a few puffs before continuing to speak.
"Brother Liu, how's everything going lately?"
Liu Dafa scratched his head, somewhat confused as to what Lu Yuan had come for: "It's alright!"
"Oh! What time do you go to bed tonight?"
"Well... I don't have any, I'll just sleep when I'm tired!"
"Oh, what do you usually like to do?"
"Um... go to sleep, or read a book."
"How many times do you get up to pee at night?"
"..."
Finally, Liu Dafa couldn't hold back any longer.
"Hey bro, what are you doing here? Just say what you want to say, stop beating around the bush, okay?"
Lu Yuan smiled and said, "I really just came to see you all! Okay, since you're all busy, I'll head back now! I'll come back to chat with you another day!"
After saying that, Lu Yuan lifted the tent flap and waved to them.
"Alright, alright, don't bother seeing me off! I'm heading back now! Thanks!"
However, as Lu Yuan turned around, he glanced slightly in the direction of Group 1 and sure enough, he saw several shifty-eyed guys staring at them.
Watching Lu Yuan's departing figure, Liu Dafa scratched his head, somewhat at a loss. The others were also puzzled, wondering why Lu Yuan had come and left without saying a word.
"Second Aunt, what exactly is Lu Yuan trying to do?"
Even the usually resourceful Second Aunt was a little confused. She shook her head: "I don't know. As long as he doesn't try to take our grain, that's fine. By the way, we shouldn't let him come again! Just stop him!"
Liu Dafa nodded, then looked at his lunchbox and suddenly felt a little hungry.
Back at the camp, Lu Yuan saw the expectant looks in everyone's eyes, and Zhou Tong was also somewhat surprised.
"Lu Yuan, how's it going? Have they borrowed any grain?"
Lu Yuan smiled slightly, then took the bag off his back, threw it on the ground, and patted it: "Oh my! Old Liu is really too kind. He said he just wanted to borrow a few things, but he borrowed so much all at once!"
