Chapter 465 District 8 Flooded

Lu Yuan cursed inwardly. Those vampires in the commercial district were utterly despicable, disregarding their lives. For a moment, Lu Yuan even regretted his decision to bring his people to the industrial zone.

Despite their regrets, they had to do something, and the immediate priority seemed to be saving everyone's lives. Other matters and the Ninth District were no longer on their agenda.

"Let's go back first, and we'll think about it again when we get there!"

Lu Yuan looked at the sky outside and then addressed the group.

So the family members helped each other walk through the pouring rain.

However, when they arrived at the dormitory building, they found that the road was flooded and filled with muddy water, making it impossible for anyone to put their feet down.

"This place is flooded too!"

Since Lu Yuan's clothes were already soaked, he didn't care anymore and stepped directly into the water to test it out. Mud and sand instantly filled his shoes.

"Thank goodness! The water isn't too deep. Everyone, roll up your pants and come over!"

As he spoke, Lu Yuan took the lead and waded through the flooded area.

When we arrived at their dormitory, we found that the area downstairs was already full of people.

"Damn it, they flooded our dorm! How are we supposed to live here?!"

"Ugh, when will this heavy rain stop? We need to drain the water as soon as possible, otherwise we won't be able to sleep tonight!"

"Stop talking nonsense and get the drainage going! The intersection is blocked, we have to clear a sewer!"

"Let's talk to the higher-ups. Maybe we should find somewhere else to spend the night, otherwise we still have a day's work to do tomorrow!"

“…”

The crowd chattered amongst themselves, some starting to clean up the water in the room, while others carried their bedding upstairs.

Then a commotion arose from the crowd.

Lu Yuan didn't say much, and once he and his men squeezed up to the second floor, they couldn't go any further.

Upon closer inspection, it became clear that the people upstairs didn't want people downstairs to leave their belongings upstairs, mainly because they were worried that the people upstairs would stay there and obstruct passage.

The people downstairs were also unwilling to go back, and they started hurling insults at each other, their faces red and necks bulging.

After finally getting everyone to the third floor, they discovered that the situation there was not much to be optimistic about either.

Several shirtless men were blocking the intersection, carrying wet blankets.

"Damn it, this intersection isn't your territory. What's wrong with us setting up a bed and putting our things here?"

However, the people on the third floor still blocked the way.

"Why should you come up here? Your place is downstairs. It's not our fault. We usually have to climb several more flights of stairs than you!"

A commotion immediately broke out in the crowd. Lu Yuan squeezed the water off his clothes and gently pulled the crowd away.

"What the hell is all that noise about!"

Lu Yuan's shout immediately silenced the crowd.

When people realized it was Lu Yuan, they dared not speak anymore, after all, Lu Yuan was now the second strongest person in the entire District 8, after Long San.

A group of people downstairs came over with indignant expressions: "Brother Lu, you be the judge! Our downstairs is flooded, what's wrong with us coming up to use the stairwell? They just won't let us up!"

"Yes, you absolutely have to stand up for us! Why can't we come up? Besides, we were just passing through, we didn't ask for their accommodation! Now that we've suffered a disaster, it's only right that we help each other out!"

Before Lu Yuan could even speak, several neighbors on the third floor expressed their disagreement.

"No way! Brother Lu, we absolutely can't let them block the intersection! This passageway is already narrow! How can anyone fit in there!"

"Yes, they suffered because of the disaster, and we want to get some rest. What if I have to get up to pee at night and step on someone? We'll have no way of explaining it then!"

Lu Yuan cursed inwardly before speaking.

"What will you do if the water floods to the third floor? Will you go to the fourth floor? What if the people on the fourth floor, like you, don't want you to use their hallway?"

The people on the third floor stared at each other in disbelief.

Lu Yuan was right. Who knows how long this rain will last? Although the area in District 8 is relatively high, it is still flooded. Their dormitory is located in a low-lying area, making drainage difficult. If this continues, all the houses will be flooded sooner or later.

Then Lu Yuan looked at everyone and said, "Alright, stop arguing and stop blocking the way. People on the first floor, put all your blankets away in order. People on the second, third, and fourth floors, please help each other out. Tell the people upstairs that I arranged this!"

The people on the first floor were all moved to tears as they thanked Lu Yuan, and Lu Yuan waved them off and continued, "Now it's your first floor that's flooded, but we won't stand idly by. Take people downstairs right now and try to get the water out of the road!"

Once a consensus was reached, the higher-ups had nothing more to say. Although many were unhappy, they dared not utter a word in the face of a powerful figure like Lu Yuan.

Then Lu Yuan looked behind him and said, "Wang Mingming, take a few men downstairs and arrange the drainage. If anyone dares not to go, come back and tell me!"

Although Wang Mingming was assigned to work at the moment, he was beaming with joy. At least he was still being valued by Lu Yuan. Although it was a tough job, he was happy to do it.
