Chapter 465 District 8 Flooded

"Okay, Brother Lu! I'll take some men to drain the water right away! I guarantee the mission will be accomplished!"

Lu Yuan nodded, then led his family back to their respective residences.

Han Wen rushed back to his room, grabbed his laptop, ran to Lu Yuan's room, turned on the temporary power, and hacked into the management system again.

"See, it was definitely management who did this!"

With a hint of anger in his voice, Han pointed at the computer screen and said.

Lu Yuan and the others stared at the computer screen for a moment, then their brows furrowed.

"So they had already discovered that the rising temperature above would cause water to flow down, and they deliberately ignored it. No wonder it never rained, even though they said it would rain a while ago!"

"Alas, it seems this disaster is about to strike again. We must make plans as soon as possible!"

Then Hanwen opened the management's email inbox and found many complaint letters inside.

"These complaint letters seem to be coming from those who own factories in the industrial area and are part of the business district!"

"Open it and see what they're saying!"

Han Wen quickly opened several emails, the contents of which were roughly about instructing management to prepare for flood prevention and not to discharge all the water into the industrial area.

Some people also said they were willing to spend money to rebuild the drainage system.

"It seems they're still prioritizing the interests of the industrial zone. I wonder if the management will compromise! This is going to be interesting!"

That evening, Lu Yuan, as part of the third group, led his men down to clear the mud and sand from the ground, which had already piled up into a small mountain in front of the residential area.

The concrete road underneath is completely invisible along the entire road.

After working for about an hour, Lu Yuan suddenly noticed that the rain seemed to have lessened a lot. He saw Han Wen running down with a look of excitement on his face.

"It's under control! The area affected by the flood discharge is temporarily under control!"

Lu Yuan turned to look at the other person in surprise: "You mean the higher-ups have withdrawn the order to flood the industrial zone?"

"That's right, there have been too many complaints. The central system has made an adjustment and will use a large number of irrigation devices to divert water there!"

"Oh, do you think this might just be a delaying tactic?" Lu Yuan didn't really believe that the management would be so kind.

Han Wen was also slightly taken aback: "I think it's just a delaying tactic! They hope this is to ensure the safety of their commercial district, but if the commercial district is hit by this kind of flood, rebuilding it will likely require much more effort and money than rebuilding the industrial district!"

"Hmm, it seems we still can't let our guard down. The rain has stopped, but we may face even greater dangers ahead!"

After returning to their rooms, exhausted, Lu Yuan watched as the people on the first floor packed up their belongings.

"What's wrong? There's no water left in the room, why are you moving out? You have to go to work soon!"

Several people saw Lu Yuan and quickly pointed to the peeling paint on the wall.

"This house is already in a dangerous state; if it gets flooded any further, it could be very dangerous!"

"Yes, this shoddy construction is about to fall apart after being soaked in water. Who would dare to live here? It's best to leave. I'd rather sleep on the street!"

"Brother Lu, should we report this to the higher-ups and ask them to move us to another place? The environment here is just too terrible!"

Seeing everyone chattering away, Lu Yuan felt helpless and could only gesture to quiet them down: "I'll talk to the factory about it in the coming days, but as for whether they'll reinforce the buildings, I'm not sure. Let's wait for news."

Helpless, everyone could only learn to build a house using their own resources. When Lu Yuan looked at the cracks in the house, he felt a chill in his heart.

"Damn it, we can't stay here any longer, we have to move out as soon as possible!"

The thought of his family members potentially facing danger made Lu Yuan want to move away immediately, but he simply didn't have enough money to do so.

So the next day at work, Lu Yuan asked for a day off and went straight to District Nine.

The water on the road had dried, but a thick layer of mud and sand remained on the ground, and workers were cleaning the road.

Upon arriving at the agency, they saw Sun Qun and another employee shoveling mud and sand out of the room. They sighed upon seeing Lu Yuan.

"How's the situation in your Eighth District?"

Lu Yuan chuckled: "Pretty much. Our neighborhood almost got flooded, but thankfully we managed to drain the water in time. I didn't expect your real estate agency to get flooded too!"

"Ugh, don't even mention it. I didn't expect the rain to be so heavy, and there was so much mud and sand. When we woke up and came back the next day, we found that almost everything inside was ruined. Now we'll have to apply to the higher-ups for help. Damn it!"

As Sun Qun spoke, he picked up his photo from the table and glanced at it. The photo had turned yellowish from being soaked in water.

"By the way, what brings you here?"

"I need you to take a look at the factory!"

"What do you mean, 'finding a factory'? Did I hear that right? You're rich now?"

Lu Yuan shook his head: "I have no money. I'm just here to find out the market and give myself some motivation!"

Sun Qun rolled her eyes: "Here to ask about the situation again? Come on, I need to finish my work as soon as possible!"

Lu Yuan smiled and said, "It's pouring rain now, so the market is different. Prices might drop. I'm here to see if I can find any bargains!"
