Zhou Tong carefully steered the boat forward, but he couldn't pick up any speed at all. There were all sorts of floating objects and some rapids everywhere, and if he wasn't careful, the boat might capsize.
How much further?
Wang Mingming carefully examined the address on the locator.
"Five kilometers to go!"
"Phew! Great! We're only five kilometers away from escaping! There seems to be a gentle slope ahead! Drive carefully!"
Zhou Tong nodded, not daring to look at anything else.
Where there are no lights, everything is pitch black.
It was already 3 a.m., and people in the city were still asleep.
Unbeknownst to them, the industrial zone had already suffered a devastating blow, and by the time they awoke, it was likely gone.
The speedboat continued moving forward, and the three of them fell silent.
The pointed bow divided the water into two parts, creating a splash on both sides of the boat.
Finally, Lu Yuan saw a light in the distance when he shone his flashlight.
We're almost there!
"We're almost there! Whew!"
Lu Yuan glanced at the two of them and said, "You two go into the space! Leave the rest to me!"
Zhou Tong gripped the steering wheel and looked at Lu Yuan: "Shall we go together?"
"No!"
Lu Yuan shook his head: "It's easier for me to act alone! I'll come find you if I need help!"
"Okay! Then be careful!"
After saying that, Zhou Tong noticed that the ship's speed had decreased, so Lu Yuan took the steering wheel and sent Zhou Tong and Wang Mingming directly into the dimensional space.
The boat was moving very slowly. Lu Yuan was afraid that the boat would run aground, so he cautiously moved forward little by little.
Finally, the bow of the ship made a "thump" sound.
Lu Yuan turned the key, then looked at the wrecked ship and finally decided to leave it there. After all, it was full of radioactive material, and Lu Yuan didn't want these things to pollute the dimensional space.
Just as Lu Yuan was about to disembark and wade across, he suddenly felt another wave coming, so he quickly walked forward.
However, when Lu Yuan saw the situation at the entrance and exit of the city, he felt a tightness in his chest.
"Holy crap! The gate's sealed off?"
Lu Yuan rushed over and saw that the entrance gate had been completely reinforced with thick concrete.
It appears that they reinforced the middle section to prevent it from being washed away by the flood.
Lu Yuan's brows furrowed tightly.
"Damn it! We're blocked! Is there no chance at all?"
Lu Yuan immediately took a crowbar from the boat and smashed it onto the concrete.
With a series of clangs, sparks flew everywhere. The thick concrete surface had long since dried, and Lu Yuan was completely unable to move the concrete and steel bars at this moment.
"Damn it! We're doomed!"
Lu Yuan's heart sank to the bottom; he never expected things to turn out this way.
"No, we can't be trapped here!"
After saying that, Lu Yuan took out a flashlight and shone it into the distance.
Wave after wave surged toward the entrance, and the water level continued to rise.
Lu Yuan calculated the distance.
"I don't have much time left. It will only take ten minutes at most to flood this place. It seems I have to speed things up!"
Thinking of this, Lu Yuan took the crowbar and struck it a few more times, but the solid concrete layer didn't budge at all.
"Damn! It's so sturdy..."
Lu Yuan was speechless.
As the water drew ever closer, Lu Yuan was no longer able to think clearly. If this water, which was mixed with a large amount of radiation, rushed over, even though his body was already very strong, he would still be affected by the radiation.
Now that he's about to become a father, he has to make sure he doesn't have any problems.
So Lu Yuan immediately entered the dimensional space.
"Excavator! Get me an excavator!"
Lu Yuan shouted desperately.
Hearing Lu Yuan's shout, everyone quickly gathered around.
"Xiao Yuan, what happened?"
After speaking in the shortest possible words, Lu Yuan rushed towards Shen Hu's direction.
"Everything's already set up! I'll go with you!"
Shen Hu's eyes were filled with determination.
Lu Yuan shook his head and gently patted the other person's shoulder: "No need!"
The next second, Lu Yuan disappeared into the dimensional space, and the excavator in front of him also vanished.
The excavator, now equipped with a hydraulic breaker, sped toward the concrete wall.
Lu Yuan only had a slight understanding of how to use this device, but he didn't need to operate it much. He simply turned the mechanical arm around and smashed it against the wall.
A series of "bang bang bang" sounds rang out continuously.
Lu Yuan glanced back every now and then; the floodwaters were getting closer and closer.
"Damn it! The water level is rising way too fast!"
Lu Yuan was helpless, wishing he could immediately pierce through the thick concrete wall with these robotic arms.
However, this place, which was made of concrete and steel bars, was so sturdy that after ten minutes, only a 30-centimeter-deep hole had been chiseled into the wall. Listening to the sounds inside, Lu Yuan had no doubt that the wall was at least several meters thick.
"Damn it! Is there really no chance at all? Are we really going to be trapped and die here?"
Lu Yuan's heart sank to the bottom. The floodwaters had already reached the excavator, submerging its tracks, and the water level continued to rise.
