Upon approaching, Zhao Honghai looked at Lu Yuan and said, "Hey brother, could you go and find me a technician named Qiao Ke?"
"Huh? Jock?"
Lu Yuan was slightly taken aback. He hadn't expected that Zhao Honghai had asked him to go find Qiao Ke.
Does this guy not have legs or a mouth?! He's making me go to such a close place?!
However, Lu Yuan knew that the other party was too proud to admit it. If he took the initiative to go to Qiao Ke, others might mistakenly think that he was promoting someone, and some scheming people might even think that he was trying to form a clique.
Zhao Honghai's thoughts were actually similar to Lu Yuan's. He had always been at the grassroots level, and now that he had finally arrived at this place, although he was forced into it, he knew that this was the time when he would be put to the greatest test.
If he wants to avoid being criticized in this position, he has to put on airs and not be so approachable or do everything himself. He has to let others know that he should act the same way even when high-ranking people come.
Zhao Honghai felt that ever since he became the commander-in-chief, he had to maintain a certain rhythm even for simple breathing. He felt that this was not a reward, but a punishment.
Zhao Honghai nodded: "Yes! Go ahead! Just tell him quietly!"
"Yes, Commander!"
Lu Yuan glanced at Zhao Honghai, then walked towards the tea bar counter.
Jock was sitting on a high stool chatting with a young woman at the front desk. He didn't greet Lu Yuan when he came over and continued chatting.
Lu Yuan said to the receptionist, "Give me a glass of ice water! Thank you!"
The receptionist glanced at Lu Yuan, somewhat displeased, but still obediently went to get the water.
Lu Yuan seized the opportunity and looked at Qiao Ke, saying, "Ahem! Brother Qiao, the commander-in-chief is looking for you!"
The other party sneered: "Is it the commander-in-chief who's looking for me, or are you looking for me? Speak! What exactly are you up to!"
Lu Yuan knew that after being exposed once, the other party wouldn't trust him as much anymore, so what he said next was especially important. However, looking at Zhao Honghai waiting behind him, Lu Yuan could only give his answer.
"I'm telling the truth! Believe it or not! The commander-in-chief just sent me to call you over! It's to prevent others from gossiping!"
Qiao Ke immediately looked in Zhao Honghai's direction, and sure enough, Zhao Honghai nodded slightly at him.
"Okay! Thanks!"
After saying something casually, Jock put down his cup and walked towards Zhao Honghai.
"Commander-in-Chief! You wanted to see me!"
Zhao Honghai nodded: "Okay! Have a seat!"
Zhao Honghai pulled out a chair and sat down. The others were still chatting and laughing, not at all like they were in trouble.
"I called you here today to talk to you about something. My son, Zhao Dajiang, has some other business to attend to and can't come. You'll have to find another assistant yourself later!"
"What?"
Qiao Ke was stunned: "Zhao Dajiang is your son? Holy crap! What a coincidence!"
Zhao Honghai nodded with a smile: "Yes! Zhao Dajiang is my son! He can't be absent tonight. You'd better find another assistant now! Otherwise, you'll be out alone with no one to help you carry your equipment!"
Jock nodded with a wry smile. He hadn't expected to be so unlucky. He had finally been assigned an assistant to a top student, but it turned out to be the commander-in-chief's son. The son stripped him of his assistant, and Jock had no choice but to find a new one.
Left with no other option, Jock went downstairs to the registration area outside to search for some of the files.
However, the recruitment process is now in its final stages, so the staff on site has basically been finalized, and finding a suitable person is proving extremely difficult.
"Damn it! Why didn't they say so earlier or later? We don't even have seven hours left before we leave tonight. Where am I supposed to find an assistant?! Seriously!"
Jock kicked the jar aside in frustration, then suddenly looked up towards the second floor.
"That's it! Tian Zhiguang! Yes! It's him!"
Thinking of this, Jock was afraid he would be too late, so he rushed upstairs.
Once upstairs, Qiao Ke saw Lu Yuan drinking water at the tea bar and immediately breathed a sigh of relief.
"Oh well! Something is better than nothing! At least he's willing to help! That eases a lot of my worries!"
So, Jock walked up to Lu Yuan and said to the busy bartender, "Xiao Mei, give this brother a glass of lemonade! It's on me!"
Hearing Qiao Ke's polite words, Lu Yuan turned to look at him and said softly, "No need to be so polite! I'm just delivering a message!"
Jock shook his head: "No, no, no! That's not what I meant! I have something else to ask of you regarding this glass of water!"
"oh?"
Lu Yuan was somewhat surprised. Seeing that the other person's expression didn't seem to be lying, he continued, "Go ahead and say it! What's wrong?"
The other person took the lemonade from Xiao Mei's hand and said, "Brother, do me a favor! I misspoke just now, um... do you still want to be my assistant?"
"ah?"
Lu Yuan could hardly believe his ears. It hadn't been long before the other party offered to make him his assistant.
Holy crap! Did happiness come too suddenly?
