"Okay! Go ahead! Do whatever you want, just don't cause me any trouble!"
"Haha! Don't worry! I won't cause you any trouble, I'll only help you solve it!"
After saying that, Lu Yuan waved and left the monitoring room.
Once outside, the balding man saw Lu Yuan's smiling face and was immediately filled with terror. He felt that Lu Yuan had already told him his story, and he couldn't help but look at Lu Yuan with pleading eyes.
"Ahem! The commander-in-chief is looking for you inside! Go in!"
After saying that, Lu Yuan patted the other person on the shoulder.
The balding man was taken aback at first, then realized what he meant, and bowed to Lu Yuan, saying, "Thank you!"
"You're welcome! Go ahead!"
After saying that, Lu Yuan took Qiao Ke and left with his things.
As for what was discussed inside, Lu Yuan couldn't care less! He believed that Zhao Honghai could handle this matter well; if he couldn't handle this, then he wouldn't be able to continue as the commander-in-chief.
Along the way, Jock chattered on and on about how Lu Yuan had fought those dozen or so people one-on-one. He spoke with great enthusiasm, his saliva flying everywhere, and his eyes were filled with admiration for Lu Yuan.
"Holy crap! Bro, what do you do? You took on a dozen people all by yourself and still won! I really don't understand!"
"Haha! What's the big deal! Even if a dozen or so of these weaklings came, I'd still take them all down!"
"Really?! If you keep saying that, I'll become your apprentice! Damn! That's really awesome! Can I learn from you?"
Lu Yuan looked at the other person and said, "Sigh! You're not cut out for this!"
Hearing Lu Yuan's words, Qiao Ke wasn't angry, but rather regretful: "Sigh! Maybe so. I might really not be suited for fighting. When the apocalypse started, there was chaos everywhere. I was terrified. Luckily, I know a lot about geography, which is why I'm still alive! If I didn't have this skill, I probably would have died long ago!"
Lu Yuan patted the other person on the shoulder: "Alright! You're a tech person, why are you doing all this fighting? This isn't for you!"
"But I always envy how easily you can face the enemy! It's so cool!"
After saying that, Jock gestured a couple of times in the car, looking genuinely excited.
As they walked and talked, the car finally arrived at the place they had left behind. The termite nest was now completely exposed, with piles of bones and bloodstains on the ground, and the steel frame was almost completely destroyed.
Sitting in the car, Lu Yuan first took out a pair of binoculars and looked at the termite nest.
There were only a few termites left in the area that had been chiseled open above; most of the termites seemed to have moved on to other places.
Lu Yuan then looked around the crack and found that there was no entrance or exit, which meant that the termites had already dealt with it.
"Phew! It seems these termites know how to protect themselves! Looks like we're going to have to leave empty-handed this time!"
Sitting in the passenger seat, Jock asked, puzzled, "Have all these termites hidden away?"
"Yes! All the termites have hidden themselves! But there's a rather adventurous activity coming up, would you like to join us?"
Upon hearing Lu Yuan's words, Qiao Ke had a feeling that this might be an event that could easily lead to his death.
"Why don't you tell me first? I don't know if I can accept it."
"Haha! Easy! This time you'll keep watch down here, and I'll go up here! Let's switch jobs!"
Jock was stunned for a moment: "Brother, you're not kidding me, are you?! Have you forgotten how horribly those biology experts died? You're still planning to go and take another look?"
"Yes! Nothing ventured, nothing gained. We have to go and see before we can feel at ease!"
"Sigh! I really don't know why you're so fearless. Is it because you're strong? But don't forget! These termites are no ordinary species. Their nests might even be connected! If we disturb them, they might swarm out, and even a car wouldn't be able to stop them!"
"It's okay. If that's really the case, you can just run away!"
"What? You want me to betray my teammates? No way, I can't do that!"
When Qiao Ke heard Lu Yuan tell him to leave him behind, he immediately became unhappy.
"I may be a coward, but I would never betray my teammates!"
Jock refused without even thinking.
"Alright! In that case, I'll go up and check out the situation!"
Jock tried to appear calm, but the moment he opened his mouth, his inner fear was immediately revealed.
"Um...should we call a few more people over?"
Lu Yuan shook his head: "No need, I'm just going to check, I don't intend to disturb these termites!"
"That's good! Alright! I'll keep you company, no doubt about it! Don't forget you still owe me a big meal!"
"no problem!"
So, Lu Yuan took out his equipment from his backpack and began to prepare.
In no time, Lu Yuan had finished setting up his equipment. After finding a relatively safe spot, Lu Yuan pulled the trigger.
With a "thud," the short spear pierced straight into the rock layer. Lu Yuan tugged at the rope to make sure it was safe, then fastened the lock and began to climb upwards.
