Chapter 692 Anteaters Released from Pen

Lu Yuan reached out and gently stroked the anteater's back twice. The little anteater couldn't help but turn its head to look at Lu Yuan, its eyes filled with curiosity as it looked Lu Yuan up and down.

"Are these anteaters now able to eat termites?"

Hei Zi shook his head: "We haven't tried it yet. We're planning to take these anteaters and give it a shot!"

"Perfect timing, I have some time now, let's go together!"

So, Lu Yuan followed the group to another laboratory. Unlike the other laboratories, although the outside of this laboratory was also built with a reinforced concrete structure, the interior walls were made of some nano-polymer plastics.

Lu Yuan stood in front of the door and looked inside through the transparent door. The entire laboratory was filled with all sorts of plastic boxes, each teeming with writhing termites—a sight that sent chills down one's spine.

These termites were collected from the middle layer of the soil. After a period of cultivation, the number of termites has reached a point where they are sufficient for the experiment.

Then, Chen Yan looked at the anteater in her arms, a hint of anticipation in her eyes.

"These termites are so ferocious, can such a small anteater handle it?"

Lu Yuan looked at Chen Yan with some concern.

The other party, on the other hand, was full of confidence in the anteaters they had bred.

"There's definitely no problem! Their scales are more than enough to block the acid from these termites!"

"But this little anteater is too small! Should we raise it for a while longer?"

Hei Zi chuckled and patted Lu Yuan on the shoulder: "Brother, don't worry! These termites are no match for anteaters. Anteaters are the natural enemies of termites! They're born to exterminate these termites!"

"Okay! We'll see!"

So, everyone entered the laboratory, and Chen Yan placed the anteater she was holding on the ground.

This monitoring focuses on the anteater's sense of smell. Since many termites live in crevices or nests, their tracks are very difficult to find. Therefore, monitoring the anteater's sense of smell is essential. If an anteater has a problem with its sense of smell, that would be a very bad situation.

After the anteaters were released onto the ground, they all looked cautious. They kept sniffing around the room, seemingly trying to get used to the smell of the place and also looking for traces of termites.

Before long, the anteaters adapted to the laboratory environment and smells, and then quickly ran towards the place containing termites.

They don't move very fast, but they are very agile, mainly because they are not very big.

Next, several plastic boxes containing termites were found in the room, and the anteaters split into several groups and began to dismantle the plastic boxes.

Their claws are very sharp, and their feet are huge; each slap produces a loud sound.

These anteaters kept sticking out their long tongues to probe the surrounding scents.

Chen Yan and several other researchers kept taking notes in their notebooks.

Not long after, a sound of a box breaking came from inside the room.

Then the first plastic box was opened, and the termites inside were instantly scattered all over the ground. These vicious termites waved their claws and sharp teeth, ready to tear apart this uninvited guest that was disturbing their normal lives.

However, these anteaters didn't give them any chance at all.

The anteaters rushed forward one by one, opened their mouths, and stuck all the termites onto their tongues, which were like sharp swords. Then, with a "slurp," the termites were sucked into their mouths.

Soon, the termites in the box were wiped out by these anteaters.

Lu Yuan breathed a sigh of relief upon seeing this.

"I didn't expect these anteaters to be so amazing! They actually ate all those termites!"

The termites in the boxes were completely eaten by the anteater in less than ten minutes.

Chen Yan and the others then showed a hint of satisfaction.

"Lu Yuan, the test is complete! Clearly, all of these anteaters have passed! We've achieved our expected goals!"

Lu Yuan nodded: "Yes! In that case, can we start mass production?"

"Yes! The embryos and everything are ready! Hopefully, these anteaters will bring us a surprise!"

So, everyone cleaned the room. The fat anteaters were sucking their tongues, their eyes showing a satisfied expression.

When Lu Yuan picked up the anteaters again, he could clearly feel that they had gained a lot of weight.

"Wow, it's grown quite a bit in just a short time!"

Chen Yan nodded: "Yes! The last remaining test is on the growth rate of these anteaters! But we don't have much time left! The last test will be left to the middle management!"

"Hmm! Great! Leave the rest to me! It seems the problem of the termites in the middle layer can be solved! How many anteaters are there here now?"

"There are thirty test subjects in the first batch! Do you want to take them all?"
