So everyone tensed up again and started moving forward one by one.
The speed slowed down, but Lu Yuan was not flustered at this moment. Only by proceeding steadily could they reach the end. If they rushed over directly, and were surrounded by monsters or attacked by termites in these termite nests, they might all be wiped out.
Lu Yuan walked in the middle of the group with a flashlight, occasionally shining it towards the sky. Suddenly, he sensed a commotion coming from the sky.
Then, as a few more pieces of rubble fell from above, Lu Yuan warned everyone to be careful. He then shone his flashlight in the direction of the falling rocks and saw a huge termite queen appear in their field of vision.
Everyone tensed up, the line dispersed, and hundreds of flashlights shone overhead. Only then did Lu Yuan confirm that there was indeed a termite queen above him.
"No, this termite queen isn't trying to attack us; they're trying to escape!"
Just as Lu Yuan was wondering why the termite queen wasn't attacking them and why she could appear above them, he suddenly heard a dense, flickering sound coming from above.
Because the sound of everyone walking was so loud, this sound was masked by the sound of their footsteps. Now that the procession has stopped, this sound has finally become apparent.
"Mr. Lu, what should we do next? Should we kill this termite queen?"
After a moment of contemplation, Lu Yuan nodded slightly: "Someone, take out the gun and shoot this termite queen!"
So everyone pulled out various guns and started firing at the sky above them.
"Bang bang bang," a series of gunshots echoed throughout the pit. The termites on the top of the pit were riddled with holes, but they were not afraid of the bullets at all because of their thick skin.
"Mr. Lu, our bullets can't penetrate the skin of this termite queen at all, what should we do?"
"Don't rush, take your time. Aim at one spot and I refuse to believe we can't penetrate it. Let's see where it flies to!"
So everyone chased after the termite queen while shooting at its body. Soon, everyone ran out of bullets.
The queen termite's body was riddled with bullet holes, and a large amount of bodily fluids from the termites flowed out. Everyone carefully avoided them.
Seemingly sensing the threat from the humans below, these soldier ants moved even faster, and some of them couldn't even keep up with the queen termite.
The road is very rugged, going up and down, and sometimes turning several corners, so everyone must be careful to avoid any dangerous places ahead that could cause injury or death.
Finally, after chasing for half an hour, the termite queen flew across a very wide and deep trench in front of her.
"Mr. Lu, there's a deep ditch ahead; we can't cross it!"
Upon receiving the message from the team member at the front, Lu Yuan quickly led his men forward.
What they saw in front of them was a bottomless pit. Lu Yuan tested the depth of the pit with a stone and estimated it to be several hundred meters deep.
The trench was measured to be over a hundred meters wide. This bottomless ravine appeared before everyone, and they felt as if it were a chasm blocking their way, impossible to cross.
"Mr. Lu, what should we do? Do we need to build a bridge? But if we do, our progress will be much slower!"
Lu Yuan looked at the ravine and waved his hand gently: "No need to build a bridge. Building a bridge is too much of a waste of time, and our current engineering equipment is not used here. You guys go hide in the space for a while, I'll find a way to get across here!"
With a flick of his finger, Lu Yuan sent the team members into the dimensional space, while he himself held a nail gun and looked around.
The rock layer above was incredibly high, probably over a hundred meters, and the range of Lu Yuan's nail gun was only thirty meters. Beyond that range, the nail gun might not be able to reach that distance. After pondering for a moment, Lu Yuan decided to walk over the wall.
He shone his flashlight down into the bottomless pit, but the beam couldn't reach it. He didn't know what was down there, but Lu Yuan had a feeling there were termites. However, that wasn't his focus right now.
In the end, Lu Yuan gave up the idea of exploring the deep pit. Instead, he took out a nail gun and hammered several nails into the wall. He planned to fix a rope above the nail guns like an ape and then swing across them one by one.
This method always worked, and Lu Yuan quickly reached the other side of the ditch. The termite queen that had been carried by the soldier ants had long since disappeared.
So Lu Yuan summoned all his team members again. When they reappeared on the other side of the ravine, they all looked at him with admiration in their eyes.
"Alright, let's get back to work. We need to speed things up and see where the end of the road leads!"
At Lu Yuan's command, all the team members quickened their pace again. To prevent any unforeseen dangers ahead, Lu Yuan specially found a drone and handed it over to one of the team members to control. The drone was equipped with a huge searchlight, which illuminated the entire road ahead.
