So he quickly took out his walkie-talkie.
"Mr. Lu, it's through! The tunnel is open!"
Jiang Tu's voice was tinged with excitement, while Lu Yuan heard echoes coming from the walkie-talkie, like someone shouting at him in an empty valley.
Upon hearing Jiang Tu's words, Lu Yuan's heart suddenly tightened. He quickly stood up and shouted into the walkie-talkie, "I understand. Where are you now?"
"I'm already at the tunnel exit!"
"Okay, I'll be right there!"
Lu Yuan was extremely excited. He immediately stood up, and Zhou Tong, who was resting in his office, couldn't help but ask when he saw Lu Yuan's excitement.
"Has the tunnel been completed?"
Lu Yuan nodded at the other person with a delighted expression: "That's right, let's go and take a look at the higher-ups!"
Zhou Tong, who was originally very tired, suddenly became interested after hearing this. He quickly sat up from his chair, put on his work clothes, and followed Lu Yuan towards the tunnel.
As soon as we entered the tunnel, the hot wind around us seemed to lessen. As we walked further, wisps of cool air kept blowing out of the tunnel exit. Near the exit, there were already many excavation workers standing, each with a contented expression on their face.
Because this abandoned industrial area had not been repaired for a long time, the ventilation was very poor. In addition, the sudden appearance of so many people and the presence of a coal-fired power plant caused the temperature to rise sharply to over 40 degrees Celsius. Sometimes, when the coal was being added to the power plant, the temperature here would even exceed 50 degrees Celsius.
Having grown accustomed to the high temperatures, the sudden cool breeze made everyone feel much more comfortable.
Everyone lined up and pushed their way forward, while a huge gust of wind kept pouring out from the vents, and the cool breeze made everyone close their eyes.
Zhou Tong and Lu Yuan exchanged a glance, their eyes filled with smiles.
"Haha, it seems it's really done! Now that it's open, the air inside is blowing in, it feels so nice!"
Lu Yuan nodded in agreement: "Yes, I was so hot. I only felt comfortable when I went back to the space. I didn't expect that it would be even more comfortable here than the air inside the space. I haven't felt this way in so long!"
Then the team members lined up and walked inside. When they got to the ventilation shaft, a cool breeze blew by.
The team members climbed in one by one. Because the entrance to the cave was not very big, they moved in very slowly.
Lu Yuan and Zhou Tong lined up and followed the team members inside. Because the entrance to the cave was very small, about one meter high, everyone had to squat or crawl through it.
Lu Yuan walked in front, while Zhou Tong followed behind. The team members in front were all very anxious. The tunnel was very crowded, so when the wind blew from the upper floors, it carried the sour smell of people who hadn't showered for a long time, which made Lu Yuan feel uncomfortable.
When they finally reached the exit, Lu Yuan felt a strong light shining in. The tunnel was pitch black because there was no light inside, but the brightness increased as he went further. After coming out of the tunnel, the intense light was hard to adjust to.
By this time, several hundred team members had climbed to the other side of the crater, and they were all gathered outside the launch site, staring at the huge area in a daze.
When Lu Yuan and Zhou Tong came out, they felt a sudden jolt in their hearts, just like Jiang Tu. It felt as if their hearts had suddenly stopped beating for a few seconds. Then, a look of wild joy appeared in their eyes.
"This is the upper floor! Haha, I never imagined the upper floors would be like this."
Zhou Tong stood on the high terrace facing the spacious pit and shouted loudly. Instantly, Zhou Tong's shouts echoed all around until they finally disappeared after a few minutes.
Lu Yuan slowly walked down the valley. The lower he went, the lower the temperature became. When Lu Yuan reached the bottom, a wide artificial river appeared nearby.
At that moment, Jiang Tu was squatting at the bottom, observing the pit.
When Lu Yuan reached the bottom, he saw an enormous artificial lake. The water area was vast, but the middle part was flat.
The artificial lake was built around the entire central area, and the water stretched far into the distance, so far that Lu Yuan could not see what the end was.
There were charred marks on the ground in the central area. Lu Yuan looked down, picked up some dust, and looked at it, not knowing what it was.
Just then, Jiang Tu's voice came from beside him.
"Mr. Lu, these are some burnt-out materials left over from the spacecraft launch. This place has been confirmed as a launch pad. They built this place specifically for launching spacecraft!"
Upon hearing what the other party said, Lu Yuan was shocked. He simply hadn't expected that such a spacious place was just a spacecraft launch pad.
Although the spacecraft was enormous in Lu Yuan's eyes, standing about a hundred meters tall and composed of several stages of rockets, the area itself had a radius of several kilometers. To build such a massive spacecraft, he couldn't imagine how much manpower, material resources, and financial resources would be required. Moreover, the artificial lake below alone was enough to leave Lu Yuan speechless.
"Any other discoveries?"
