Rumble, rumble.
A loud noise rang out, and Shi Quan stood there looking up, a look of shock immediately appearing on his face.
A bright, white light shone down from the sky, and everyone felt their vision turn completely white.
Everyone instinctively covered their eyes because the light outside was so bright; they had never seen such light before, as if someone were shining a powerful flashlight down on them.
Shi Quan's eyes stung from the stinging light. He looked down and rummaged through his backpack, pulling out a pair of sunglasses and putting them on before looking up at the sky.
It was then that he realized it wasn't that the outside light was too strong, but rather that they had become accustomed to the dim light environment inside the underground fortress.
Having lived in the underground fortress for a year, they had become extremely adapted to the environment.
They originally thought that sunlight was this intensity, but they didn't expect that the simulated light here was much weaker than sunlight. The outside light was much stronger than the light in the underground fortress.
Suddenly, a powerful air pressure surged in. As the last gate opened, the temperature difference between the inside and outside of the fortress caused a strong wind to rush in.
The temperature began to drop throughout the high-rise building, and the temperature dropped very quickly. A few minutes later, everyone felt the biting cold wind and found it hard to bear.
The temperature here was originally quite warm, but the outside temperature had now reached minus ten degrees Celsius. Although minus ten degrees Celsius is within the range that the human body can tolerate, the sudden cold was unbearable for everyone. Suddenly, a strong wind blew up and ice began to form all around.
Layers of floating ice began to appear in the river at a visible speed.
"Oh no, it's freezing over! We absolutely can't let Mr. Lu and the others get trapped inside!"
Shi Quan shouted that something was wrong, and then quickly picked up the walkie-talkie and spoke into it.
"Mr. Lu, something bad has happened! Cold air is coming in from outside, and the water below is starting to freeze. You must return as soon as possible!"
Upon hearing this, Lu Yuan was immediately startled: "What's going on? What happened outside?"
"The top hatch opened, and then the cold air began to drop. The temperature difference here suddenly changed, and the wind is too strong! Shi Quan glanced outside and saw that everyone was huddled together, frozen. The temperature difference was so huge that it dropped from 20 or 30 degrees Celsius to minus 10 degrees Celsius in an instant.
This was something most people couldn't withstand. In almost an instant, everyone began frantically searching for shelter from the wind, but the temperature dropped too quickly, exceeding everyone's expectations.
Before they could react, the sudden gust of cold wind made them huddle together, trying to keep warm, but this didn't seem to be very effective.
"The situation is not good!"
After a moment of silence, Lu Yuan immediately said, "Okay, have someone open the tunnel entrance right away, then go inside and hide until I return. I'll take people back right now!"
After finishing his call, Lu Yuan hung up and then led his men to pack up their things.
Within two minutes, everyone had finished packing their things. Lu Yuan waved his hand and immediately took everyone back to the dimensional space.
Meanwhile, Zhou Tong, who was submerged underwater, also felt the change in temperature. He felt the water around him becoming increasingly cold. Although he was wearing protective clothing, he still couldn't withstand the cold and was shivering uncontrollably. His hands and feet began to cramp.
Then he felt a knocking sound coming from inside the lid. Zhou Tong reacted instantly, tapped on the lid, and then opened it.
A large amount of water rushed into the pit below again. Lu Yuan took the opportunity to enter the dimensional space, while Zhou Tong held the dimensional crystal necklace in his hand and plugged the lid again.
Holding the dimensional crystal necklace, Zhou Tong swam quickly toward the submarine. Seeing the flashlight beam, Chen Han, who was sitting inside the submarine, immediately opened the hatch. Once inside, Zhou Tong instantly felt the temperature rise significantly, and his body began to regain its mobility.
Zhou Tong then dried himself off and sat in the submarine, rubbing his body repeatedly. The next second, Lu Yuan appeared in the submarine.
What's happening outside?
Zhou Tong and Chen Han, inside the submarine, were unaware of what had happened, only sensing some turmoil outside.
After Lu Yuan briefly explained the situation, the two men's expressions immediately changed. Without any hesitation, Lu Yuan said, "Get the submarine up there right now. Ice floes are starting to form. If we delay any longer, the entire river will freeze over, and we won't be able to leave!"
Chen Han nodded slightly, then maneuvered the submarine to begin floating upwards. Suddenly, a rapid warning sound came from the sonar, and before he could react, he felt as if the submarine had been hit.
With a loud bang, Lu Yuan and Zhou Tong lost their balance and fell to the ground.
