Lu Yuan held the scales in his hands, his heart heavy.
"Old Zhou, where are the members of the vanguard team? They can't just vanish into thin air, can they?"
Zhou Tong shook his head helplessly: "We've already sent people to search! But so far, we haven't found anything!"
Damn it!
Lu Yuan slammed his fist on the car: "What kind of ability do these monsters have that allows them to take people out of cars without leaving a trace?"
Zhou Tong looked troubled and sighed, "Who knows? These monsters have wings! Who knows when they arrived! The team members didn't even notice them! Also, their disappearance is too suspicious!"
At that moment, the high priest came over.
Fang Yuan quickly stepped aside to act as a translator.
The high priest asked, "Could they inspect the things here?"
Lu Yuan nodded: "Of course, no problem!"
Fang Yuan then nodded to the high priest and translated.
The other person smiled at Lu Yuan, then pointed to a few people beside him and said something. Then, those people from the tribe took their spears and began searching the vicinity.
Not long after, Zhou Tong's walkie-talkie rang.
"This is Zhou Tong! Have you made any discoveries over there?"
"Captain Zhou, we've found some bloodstains here! It looks like they were left by our vanguard team!"
"Great! Where are you now? We're coming right away!"
So the search team reported their location to Zhou Tong.
Lu Yuan immediately waved his hand: "Go! Take some men and go check it out! The main force should remain on alert! Report any suspicious activity immediately!"
Zhou Tong gave a few instructions, then followed Lu Yuan and ran off in the distance.
Upon arrival, they saw several people squatting beside a deep pit, inspecting the area around it.
"Mr. Lu, you've arrived too! This is the bloodstain we found!"
Lu Yuan nodded and followed Zhou Tong over.
Zhou Tong took out a pair of white rubber gloves from his pocket, squatted down, and crushed the blood on the ground.
Then I looked at it right under my nose.
"It looks like it was left not long ago!"
After speaking, Zhou Tong examined the bloodstains carefully again: "Although the weather is extremely cold, we can still deduce that these bloodstains haven't been there for very long. It seems that the monster dragged the team members to this place and left these bloodstains!"
But where is the body?
Lu Yuan frowned as he looked at the deep pit.
The body has not yet been found!
Lu Yuan felt utterly helpless. Looking at the gray, hazy world around him, he felt extremely worried.
"Damn it! We've only traveled less than 500 kilometers and this has already happened! It seems our journey ahead is going to be even more difficult!"
Should we continue the search?
Zhou Tong stood up, looked at Lu Yuan, and asked a question.
Lu Yuan was taken aback: "Old Zhou, what do you mean?"
Zhou Tong glanced around at the people, then whispered in Lu Yuan's ear, "What I mean is, if we continue searching for these people now, our journey will be delayed! How about we leave a quick action team here to search, and the main force can set off first!"
Upon hearing Zhou Tong's words, Lu Yuan immediately fell into deep thought.
In fact, Zhou Tong's meaning was very clear: this place was not particularly safe, and if they stayed here and encountered these monsters again, there was a high possibility of even greater casualties.
Leaving a small team behind to search for the missing members would actually be a good idea, but Lu Yuan couldn't accept it. After all, these were team members he had carefully selected, and losing even one of them would be a huge loss.
But staying here seems to be a waste of time; there's really nothing they can do, since their main task is to find a habitat as soon as possible, which is the most important thing.
Looking around, Lu Yuan had to accept Zhou Tong's idea. After all, the team members had searched for so long but still had no clues, so the chances of them surviving were probably slim.
"Brother, make a decision quickly! We really don't have much time left! Don't forget, we still have nearly seven million people in our space!"
Lu Yuan turned to look at Zhou Tong: "Alright! Then notify the main force to continue advancing, and send a rapid response team to continue searching here. If they still can't find them in two hours, then we'll have to give up!"
Zhou Tong nodded, then patted Lu Yuan on the shoulder, preparing to give him some instructions.
At this moment, Fang Yuan walked over with the high priest and one of the young men who had been there earlier.
The high priest looked at Lu Yuan, nodded, and then pointed to a young man beside him.
Then, with a hint of nervousness on his face, the young man handed a notebook to Lu Yuan.
Lu Yuan took the notebook with a slight surprise, while Fang Yuan translated it.
"The high priest said that this notebook was found over there, and it should be a relic left behind by the vanguard team members! I wonder if we can find anything inside!"
Lu Yuan nodded slightly, then picked up the notebook and opened it.
However, as Lu Yuan turned to the first page, he suddenly noticed a line of crooked, small print.
"Mr. Lu, run!"
There was only this one sentence on the title page, nothing else.
Upon seeing this sentence, Lu Yuan's heart tightened, and he quickly opened his notebook and continued flipping through the pages.
