Chapter 756 Saving Freeman

Finally, another gunshot rang out. Zhou Tong quickly rolled over and hid behind a boulder. He carefully discerned the direction from which the gunshot came, then picked up his night vision binoculars and looked in the distance.

At that moment, several staggering figures appeared in the distance through the night vision binoculars, followed by a large group of people, each holding a gun, who began firing at the people in front of them.

Freeman felt like his lungs were on fire; the long run had taken a toll on his physical strength.

In addition, he is almost sixty years old now, and his physical strength is no match for that of young people. He has lived a comfortable life for many years, and although he exercises occasionally, it is just simple running.

After experiencing the apocalypse, he was so hungry that he couldn't even get enough to eat, and his physical strength was far from what it used to be. After running for a few minutes, he felt a stitch in his side, clutching his lower abdomen and gritting his teeth.

Several attendants nearby quickly helped Freeman up.

"Mr. President, we cannot stop, the pursuers are almost here!"

Freeman, clutching his stomach, gritted his teeth and asked, "How far have we gotten?"

The attendant beside him quickly replied, "Mr. President, we've only run about five or six kilometers!"

"What? You've only run five or six kilometers? I thought we'd run more than ten kilometers!"

Freeman's eyes immediately showed a hint of helplessness. He turned his head to look behind him, and suddenly a bullet flew over his head. He immediately squatted down, sweating profusely with fright.

Then, ignoring the fire burning in his chest and lungs, he gritted his teeth and whispered to his attendants beside him, "Charge! If we break through, we can live. We can't die here!"

The henchmen's eyes were all red. They had been following Freeman for a long time, and this prison break plan had been in the works since they were captured.

Originally, there were more than 20 people in them, but more than 10 were killed during the execution of the plan, and only 5 people remain after following them all the way.

The five of them were protecting their president, and the reason they were risking their lives to do this was to prevent their country from falling into such a desperate situation.

So the group ran forward frantically again. Suddenly, as they passed a snow slope and were about to dodge it, a tall Chinese man appeared on it. He looked at them with a resolute expression.

Freeman, thinking they were from the United States, was startled and tried to run away, but Zhou Tong grabbed him.

The attendants beside him were also terrified. They quickly took out the stone knives they had sharpened from stones from their pockets, ready to launch an attack on Zhou Tong.

However, Zhou Tong suddenly lowered his voice and said, "I am Chinese, and I have come to rescue you!"

Zhou Tong didn't realize for a moment that the words were spoken in Chinese. When the others heard the Chinese, they were stunned for a moment. However, Freeman immediately realized it and a look of excitement appeared on his face.

"Sir, was that you on the phone just now?"

Zhou Tong then realized what was happening and quickly replied in English, "That's right, it's me. You guys look to be in a really bad situation!"

Freeman nodded slightly, his eyes filled with excitement: "Thank you, sir, thank you for saving us. What should we do now? There are just too many pursuers behind us!"

Zhou Tong looked at the flustered Freeman, smiled slightly, and then pointed behind him: "Come on, follow me!"

At this moment, the attendant next to him saw Freeman's pained expression and quickly squatted down to check. When Freeman's trouser legs were lifted up, his two ankles were swollen like risen loaves of bread, and his ankles were swollen to the thickness of his calves.

Immediately, an attendant beside Zhou Tong pleaded, "Sir, our president just twisted his ankle. Could you slow down a bit? I'll carry him."

Upon hearing his attendant's words, Zhou Tong quickly turned around and saw Freeman clutching his ankle in pain. Seeing this, Zhou Tong sighed helplessly.

"Okay, get on, I'll carry you. You guys should be fine, right?"

Seeing Zhou Tong's understanding nature, the attendants beside him also showed expressions of gratitude: "Thank you, sir. We're fine, we can leave. You can take the president with you!"

Freeman gave Zhou Tong a grateful look: "Sir, you can just call me Freeman. I'm hardly a president anymore. Thank you for saving us. I will definitely repay you!"

"Get on, now's not the time. I need to get you out of here as quickly as possible! Also, you guys need to stick close, I'm very fast!"

The attendants beside him were also handpicked from the army; their physical abilities were far superior to those of ordinary people. However, when they started running, they realized they had been overthinking things.

They had thought their physical abilities were already excellent, but seeing Zhou Tong carrying Freeman and running all the way made them feel defeated.

"You guys hurry up! At this rate, when will you ever get out of this encirclement?"

After running for a while, Zhou Tong turned around and saw the people lagging behind. He couldn't help but shout at them in a low voice.
