After walking two hundred meters, Zhou Tong and his group picked up their night vision binoculars and looked in the distance.
The temperature inside the mutated monster's body was almost the same as outside, so it wasn't very clear, but the Delta Force personnel inside the room could see it clearly.
Occasionally, flames emanating from the window would burst forth in the night vision goggles, emitting a crimson glow.
"Wait a minute, there are too many monsters. Let them use up their ammunition first!"
Everyone immediately stopped and hid in place to be on guard, in order to avoid being discovered by the monster.
In order to prevent the monsters from detecting their scent through their keen sense of smell, Zhou Tong had given each person a bottle of pungent-smelling Tiger Balm before they arrived.
These items were given to him by Lu Yuan. To cover up their body odor and prevent being attacked by monsters, Lu Yuan prepared a large bottle for each of them. They applied the medicated oil to their bodies, and it worked to evade the monsters' pursuit.
However, there is one downside to medicated oil: it is highly volatile. Although it can last for a while when applied to the body, it will evaporate quickly once exposed to air. In the cold winter, two hours is enough for all the smell on the body to dissipate.
They didn't have much time, but two hours would be more than enough.
As Zhou Tong kept an eye on the time, he also kept his eyes on the distance, occasionally glancing up at the sky. There were still many monsters, but over a hundred had died at the hands of these Delta Force special forces, demonstrating just how abundant their firepower was.
"I hope Lin Qiang is alright. He's definitely in the middle right now, and these people are trying to get him to come and exchange him for President Freeman!"
Zhou Tong tightened his collar to prevent the cold wind from getting inside his clothes.
In this frigid, snowy landscape, the temperature of minus thirty degrees Celsius is extremely cold.
Everyone was wearing thick cotton-padded clothes, but being exposed to this temperature for too long would cause the cold wind to slowly dissipate their body heat. Everyone huddled together, squatting in place, trying their best to prevent the wind from dissipating their body heat.
After waiting for about half an hour, the gunfire in the room suddenly subsided considerably.
Upon seeing this positive sign, Zhou Tong immediately took a look inside.
"It's been half an hour, and they should be almost out of ammunition. But based on my understanding of Delta Force, they'll definitely keep a few bullets for themselves, so everyone needs to be careful!"
Everyone nodded and then began to check their weapons on the spot.
A few minutes later, Zhou Tong nodded to the crowd, and the next second everyone dispersed and slowly moved towards the half-collapsed building.
The monster's attack became even more ferocious, as if it sensed that the people inside the house were nearing their end. A strong stench of blood and stench permeated the entire building.
When he was less than fifty meters away from the building, Zhou Tong hid behind a rock and quietly peered inside.
Just then, a whooshing sound came from above. Zhou Tong quickly leaned against the rock, picked up his rifle and aimed upwards. He saw a huge lizard monster flapping its wings and flying over his head.
Then the lizard monster roared towards the collapsed building and rushed straight into a window.
Zhou Tong looked inside, then pulled back the bolt and began aiming at the room.
Through the night vision binoculars, Zhou Tong also spotted a soldier wielding a dagger, locked in combat with the monster.
Without any hesitation, he pulled the trigger.
The next second, the soldier was shot in the chest and fell to the ground.
Following Zhou Tong's gunshot, several more sporadic gunshots rang out nearby in the darkness.
Morrison was shocked and immediately shouted to his teammates.
"Everyone, get inside! Keep an eye on the hostages!"
So everyone hid inside the room. As for the monster attack outside, it wouldn't have much of an impact as long as it couldn't get in for a while.
Then, Morrison angrily grabbed the walkie-talkie and switched the channel back to the one Zhou Tong and the others had used before.
"Major Zhou, you've gone too far! You attacked us while we were killing the monster! This is unethical!"
Morrison's voice was filled with undisguised anger, while Zhou Tong smiled slightly, picked up the walkie-talkie, and pressed the send button: "Excuse me, Major Morrison, we are enemies now."
Don't forget, you have one of our team members in your hands. Once you hand him over, we won't attack him anymore. By the way, you're probably running low on ammunition, aren't you?"
Upon hearing Zhou Tong's words, Morrison's face immediately darkened. He coldly spoke into the walkie-talkie, "Major Zhou, I hope you understand that we are Delta Force, the elite of the elite! If you want to be my enemy, then we'll fight to the bitter end! And let me tell you, if you fire another shot at one of my men, you'll see his corpse in the next second. I mean what I say!"
With a "click," Morrison switched off the walkie-talkie.
Zhou Tong looked from a distance and sensed that the other side must be very angry, after all, he had ambushed them while they were killing the monster.
