Chapter 777 People Arrive in the Middle of the Night

We spent two days in a row on the bus, and everyone was exhausted.

So Lu Yuan decided to rest for a while before continuing his journey.

Zhou Tong found a suitable place to set up camp nearby and stopped.

The high priests in charge of divination would bring tortoise shells to perform divination wherever they went.

Lu Yuan had previously inquired about the purpose of this method, but the high priest's explanation seemed somewhat different to him. Fang Yuan was also unable to fully translate the high priest's words, so Lu Yuan had no choice but to give up.

After setting up three tents, Lu Yuan invited the high priest and the others to come in and rest, but the high priest shook his head slightly.

He pointed to a cave on a hillside in the distance and said, "We prefer to live in places like this. Nature's things are best suited for our survival. We're not used to these products of modern civilization."

Hearing this, Lu Yuan shrugged helplessly: "Alright, if you're willing to stay, then go ahead. But please be careful and warn us in advance if there are any wild animals or anything like that."

The high priest and his companions smiled slightly, but didn't seem to care. They carried their belongings and slowly walked towards that direction.

Despite the cold weather, they were only wearing straw sandals. Lu Yuan had originally intended to give them boots, but these ancient Indians said that boots and similar items would affect their running speed. If it weren't for the fact that the temperature here was still below minus ten degrees Celsius, they would definitely be running barefoot on the ground.

Watching the high priest and the others quietly leave the camp, Lu Yuan, Zhou Tong, and Fang Yuan could only helplessly begin baking their dinner.

The food is mostly marinated and processed meat, so no seasoning is needed. Just grill it over a fire for a short time before eating.

Dinner consisted of beef and rice, which are high in protein.

After eating a simple meal, the three of them returned to their tent to sleep.

Along the way, Lu Yuan and Zhou Tong took turns driving the off-road vehicle, so they were exhausted and fell asleep almost as soon as they entered the tent.

As Fang Yuan was in charge of filming, she had to use her breaks to do some simple processing and copying of the footage to prevent accidental loss or damage to the equipment.

Soon, rhythmic snoring came from Lu Yuan and Zhou Tong's tent. Fang Yuan glanced at the direction of their tent, couldn't help but smile, and then turned on her computer to continue copying the footage she had just taken.

After working for more than two hours, Fang Yuan finally felt a little sleepy.

Lu Yuan is not worried about any human attacks in the vicinity, because there is no vegetation or traces of human habitation in this place.

He wasn't worried about anyone infiltrating the area; Lu Yuan was confident he could spot and eliminate his opponent immediately.

Fang Yuan stretched, yawned, shut down her computer, packed her things, closed the tent flap, crawled into her sleeping bag, and prepared to sleep.

Just then, she suddenly heard a series of faint sounds coming from not far away. She immediately felt a chill run down her spine, so she quickly opened the tent and looked into the distance through the gap.

However, it was pitch black all around, and apart from the campfire illuminating a few nearby tents, there was nothing else to be seen.

Besides the snoring, there were also faint sounds coming from afar. Fang Yuan felt very scared. After pondering for a moment, she quickly opened the tent and quietly came to Lu Yuan's tent.

Fang Yuan unzipped the tent with the gentlest of movements, only then realizing that her palms were covered in sweat. While unzipping the tent, she kept looking behind her to prevent anyone from attacking her from behind.

The moment the tent flap was pulled open, Lu Yuan felt a gust of wind blow in. He immediately opened his eyes, sat up abruptly, and gripped his pistol, aiming it at Fang Yuan outside the tent.

Fang Yuan, startled by the gun pointed at her, quickly raised her hands and looked nervously at Lu Yuan: "I heard some noise!"

Seeing how nervous the other person was, Lu Yuan frowned slightly. He then pulled the other person into the tent and asked in a low voice, "What's wrong? What's that noise? Did you hear wrong?"

"No, there really was a sound!"

Lu Yuan quickly looked around the tent, but apart from the faint light of the campfire illuminating the area within ten meters, he could not see anything.

Then he took out night vision binoculars from his backpack and looked into the distance.

At that moment, in a gravel beach below the high slope where they were, Lu Yuan saw a faint light flash.

So he quickly got up and said to Fang Yuan, "You stay in the tent and don't make a sound. I'll go out and check!"

Fang Yuan nodded immediately, then cautiously asked Lu Yuan, "Why don't you call Lao Zhou along too? It's too dangerous for him to come alone!"

"Yes, I know!"

After saying that, Lu Yuan turned to leave, but suddenly remembered that Fang Yuan was a woman, so he quickly handed the pistol in his hand to her.

"Take care of yourself. If all else fails, I'll send you to a dimensional space!"

However, Fang Yuan stubbornly shook her head: "No, I want to film this scene!"

Seeing the other person's reaction, Lu Yuan didn't say much, and could only nod slightly: "Okay, then you stay here and take good care of yourself. I might not be able to take care of your safety!"
