Chapter 779 Jungle

Lu Yuan took a step back and then charged across the log bridge like a cheetah.

When he reached the edge of the rift valley, Lu Yuan stepped onto a rock and then pushed off with his foot, landing straight down the road ahead like a cannonball. The distance of more than ten meters was not a challenge for him.

After reaching the other side of the rift valley, Lu Yuan took a deep breath, observed the surroundings, and once he was sure no one was around, he directly helped Zhou Tong and the others out of the car.

The young man wearing the hood suddenly felt dizzy, and after a second dizziness, the hood was removed. He looked at them and saw that they had appeared on the other side of the rift, a look of shock on his face.

He couldn't help but turn to look at Lu Yuan, but Lu Yuan didn't react at all. Zhou Tong and Fang Yuan were already used to Lu Yuan's actions, so after looking for a while, he didn't find any secret.

Once they reached the other side, Lu Yuan inquired about the exact location of the river, as the rift valley had blocked its flow.

After crossing this rift valley, finding the river's destination becomes a huge challenge, and without a local guide, they might have to search for a very long time.

Fortunately, the young man was clearly very familiar with the environment. After quickly assessing his location, he ran a few steps along the gravel beach ahead and then pointed ahead with delight.

Lu Yuan and Zhou Tong followed behind him and glanced in the direction he pointed. Although it was pitch black behind the gravel beach, Lu Yuan could clearly hear the sound of rushing water. The sound of the water seemed to be even louder than the waterfall they had encountered before.

"Is that the river you mentioned just ahead?"

After Fang Yuan translated for the other party, the other party immediately nodded and then gestured wildly as they said something else.

Fang Yuan immediately explained, "He said that if we go another twenty kilometers or so, we'll see the primeval forest, but it's very dangerous ahead because that group of people must have gone there to hunt animals. So he can only take us this far; he doesn't dare go any further!"

After hearing what the other person said, Lu Yuan nodded slightly and then looked back at the log bridge he had come from.

"Can you go back by yourself?"

The other person glanced in the direction of the log bridge, then looked at himself, and finally gritted his teeth and nodded.

"Okay, then you can go back by yourself. We'll walk the rest of the way ourselves!"

Lu Yuan had no goodwill towards these people; their relationship was purely cooperative. Now that the cooperation was complete and Lu Yuan had provided them with a large amount of food, they no longer needed to do anything. Lu Yuan only needed to complete his task and find a suitable habitat.

The young man held the backpack tightly to his back. Because he wasn't very tall, the backpack completely covered his back, leaving only his head, arms, and legs visible.

Then, the other person carefully approached the wooden bridge, took off their clothes, and gently wiped them on the smooth log bridge. They repeated this action every few steps. Fang Yuan seemed a little worried about the other person, but Lu Yuan waved slightly.

"Alright, we should move on now, or we might run out of time!"

Fang Yuan had no choice but to look away and then get into the car with Lu Yuan.

The car proceeded in the direction indicated by the other party, while the high priest and the other two people pressed their faces against the windows, constantly looking around.

The 20-kilometer distance took them about half an hour to drive, not because of bad roads, but mainly because they found a lot of messy footprints nearby.

"It seems that the young man was right. These should be the footprints left by the hunting team from that tribe. However, we don't know if they brought any weapons with them this time. We need to be careful!"

After storing the car in the dimensional space, Lu Yuan sent the High Priest and the others back to the dimensional space. After all, they couldn't be of much help in matters of war with humans, so keeping them here would only be a burden.

Lu Yuan originally wanted Fang Yuan to join the dimensional space as well, but she said that she was now a reporter and was filming an epic documentary, and such excellent scenes could not be missed.

In the end, Lu Yuan agreed to let the other party follow behind the two, but he put forward a few requirements in advance. First, they were not allowed to act without his orders. Second, they had to pay attention to their own safety and keep a safe distance from them to avoid being injured by stray bullets.

Although Fang Yuan insisted on staying here, she was still a little scared inside. After all, it was a matter of life and death, so she dared not be careless. She carefully held a miniature camera in her hand to film the surrounding scene.

Lu Yuan and Zhou Tong were already wearing bulletproof vests and carrying rifles, slowly approaching each other. In order to locate each other's targets as quickly as possible, they were both wearing night vision goggles.

After walking for about half an hour, they finally heard some noise. Lu Yuan and Zhou Tong quickly lay down on the ground. Fang Yuan waved behind them, and Fang Yuan quickly lowered her body and crawled forward little by little on the pile of rubble.

Lu Yuan and Zhou Tong lay on top of the pile of corpses, with only one head sticking out, holding night vision binoculars and looking ahead.
