Chapter 792 The Black Hole in the Desert

Lu Yuan summoned more than a hundred people from the military and police forces.

The news of Lu Yuan looking for someone spread quickly, and in less than two hours, almost everyone was paying attention to it.

Even the only Xiwen newspaper in the dimensional space sent someone to conduct an interview.

Lu Yuan was speechless at this.

"This matter should not be publicized for the time being!"

Lu Yuan directly stopped them from conducting an interview. After all, if they found Han Wen and Xi Wen and obtained some secrets about the dimensional space, it might cause some unnecessary trouble if it was reported.

After leading more than a hundred people to the front of the red desert, Sun Tao also made a special trip back to his home during those few hours to bring back some professional tools.

He first squatted down and put a small bag of red sand into a transparent plastic bag and marked it. Then he looked at some stones that appeared nearby, found some, and put them into the plastic bag as well.

Lu Yuan then issued the order to search.

The team of over one hundred people was divided into more than ten groups, with each group responsible for searching a specific area.

To prevent people from getting lost, Lu Yuan specially provided each team member with a walkie-talkie, and they made a call every ten minutes.

Then, Lu Yuan led Sun Tao and Lü Zhan toward the distance.

Along the way, Qin Xiaohui and Lü Zhan kept searching for any possible traces in the vicinity.

However, it was clear that these two people were not experts in this field, and Sun Tao rejected all the traces they had found based on their descriptions.

After several hours of searching, there were still no clues.

When all the team members returned to the assembly point, Lu Yuan silently squatted down, pondering where Han Wen and Xi Wen might be.

Sun Tao, standing to the side, was still writing and drawing in his notebook. As for what he was writing and drawing, Lu Yuan glanced at it and found that it was full of all kinds of lines and messy handwriting, making it almost impossible to tell what he was writing.

After a long while, Sun Tao suddenly looked up and said, "I've discovered a secret!"

Sun Kang's words immediately caused a huge uproar. People around him gathered around and stared at him, while Lu Yuan frowned slightly.

"What did you find?"

Sun Tao then took out a handful of red sand from his pocket and placed it in his palm.

"Did you find any living creatures while you were searching for people?"

The people around them all shook their heads.

"No, there isn't even an ant around here!"

"Yes, this is a desert, how could there be any living creatures here? Don't be ridiculous!"

"What does this have to do with Han and Xiwen? Could their whereabouts be related to this red sand?"

Lu Yuan was also somewhat surprised: "Yes, why would you suddenly ask this question?"

Sun Tao then slowly said, "After searching, I found that there are no living creatures in this place at all, and all their supplies were swept under the sand in that storm."

Even with the supplies they carried, enough for about two backpacks, they'd probably run out long ago in the past two weeks. Besides, the climate here is extremely dry, and there's practically no water beneath the soil!

Then he took out a ruler and pulled it out of the sand. The ruler remained the same color from top to bottom.

Sun Tao then slowly said, "Look here, it's almost impossible to get water even if you wanted to. The sand has turned this color, which means there's practically no groundwater!"

"And the place where they disappeared is roughly here. If they were mentally sound, they certainly wouldn't have stayed in this place for long."

I suspect they must have gone to a safer place, somewhere with water and wildlife, to survive; otherwise, they would probably have perished!

Upon hearing Sun Tao's words, Lu Yuan fell silent: "This is the very center of the Red Desert! It's practically impossible for them to leave from here!"

Then, Lu Yuan picked up the map and compared their previous location with their current location. He then realized that the distance between them was more than 300 kilometers.

Moreover, it's a straight-line distance. To leave alive from such a distance without a large supply of food and water is almost impossible.

There were only five people in Han Wen and Xi Wen's group, and it would be almost impossible for these five people to leave this desert.

According to Qin Xiaohui, all they had left were two bottles of water in their backpacks and some food they had just gotten from the desert.

"They have most likely perished!"

Sun Tao finally spoke out what everyone was thinking, but when he spoke, his voice was still devoid of any emotion, as if these people had nothing to do with him.

Lu Yuan knew that he came from a criminal investigation background, so his judgment on this matter was almost always from a third-person perspective, without involving him.

Then Lu Yuan and the others fell silent. They still couldn't believe that Han Wen and Xi Wen, the leaders of the group, had perished, since everyone was very familiar with the environment in the dimensional space.

There was no severe weather, nor any catastrophic natural disasters. As for strong winds, they had never seen or heard of them. During the months they lived in the dimensional space, it was always sunny and peaceful, with birds singing and flowers blooming.
