"Da da da," another burst of gunfire echoed from the depths of the distant valley.
Lu Yuan turned to one of the observers beside him and asked, "How many of them are there?"
"Reporting to Mr. Lu, their numbers are approximately thirty-odd! However, only eleven of them have guns! The rest are likely scientists!"
"Great, we've finally found them! Oh, and whatever you do, don't shoot! Approach them slowly and try to take them out in close combat!"
At this moment, Zhou Tong had already taken off his rifle and, with a few men, stealthily crept towards their direction.
Several snipers nearby had already begun aiming at them, but they did not fire.
Because the satellite was right behind them, they were worried that the bullets would penetrate their bodies and damage the satellite.
Now none of them dare to make any rash moves. After all, they had finally found the satellite, and if it were damaged, it would be a real problem.
This satellite is extremely important to them. Without it, they would not be able to find Xiwen, explore the secrets of the dimensional space, or make climate predictions.
Lu Yuan was extremely nervous at that moment, holding a dagger in his hand but not rushing over.
They watched silently as several figures approached them like ghosts.
Lu Yuan was so nervous that he barely dared to breathe, afraid of alerting the other party.
After seeing that the other side did not retaliate after firing a few shots, he assumed they were just some nearby tribes and breathed a sigh of relief.
Then a major, who was in the lead, waved to the others, and they all got back into the car.
Everyone boarded the vehicle one after another, but some of the scientists in the back of the truck were already severely exhausted. In this freezing cold, they had run out of supplies, and if things continued like this, they might not be able to hold out for another day.
Just as the car was about to start, several figures suddenly darted past.
The driver glanced at it and thought his eyes were playing tricks on him, so he looked to both sides of the car but saw nothing. Only then did he feel relieved and prepare to drive off.
However, at that moment, a noise came from the back of the truck bed. The driver turned his head to look again, but there were still several scientists sitting in the truck bed.
"Damn it, when will it get light?! This is causing widespread panic! It's unbearable!"
The driver cursed under his breath, then turned the car key again.
However, by this time, several corpses had appeared at the back of the truck bed, each wearing a military uniform, and blood was flowing out of the truck bed.
Zhou Quan, lying in the truck bed, looked at the several still-shaken scientists and asked in a low voice, "Which of you is named Xiao Pinghai?"
At this moment, a middle-aged man in his fifties in the crowd touched his glasses and said, "I...I am Xiao Pinghai!"
Upon hearing the other person's words, Zhou Tong's face lit up with joy, and he crawled two steps toward the other person.
"I'm from the Chinese Special Forces! I'm here to rescue you!"
Upon hearing the familiar Chinese language, Xiao Pinghai was immediately overcome with emotion, and his eyes suddenly reddened.
Then, Zhou Tong pointed to the blood on the ground and said, "Won't this blood contaminate the satellite? And is the satellite still intact?"
Xiao Pinghai nodded immediately: "Perfect! Everything is perfectly intact!"
"That's good! Now tell the others that these soldiers from the United States are now under our care! You all need to cooperate with us!"
After Xiao Pinghai quickly explained to the others, a look of joy appeared on everyone's faces.
Then, the car shook once and began to move forward.
Seeing this, Zhou Tong was immediately somewhat helpless: "Damn it! They started driving so fast! Won't this satellite be afraid of turbulence?"
"Yes! This satellite is very fragile! The solar panels inside cannot be damaged even in the slightest! Otherwise, it's all over!"
Zhou Tong quickly crouched down and looked at the valley behind him.
"I wish Lu Yuan could come!"
However, just as he was about to say something, he suddenly felt a painting in front of his eyes.
Zhou Tong immediately understood that this was a sign that Lu Yuan had sent the car directly into the dimensional space.
He quickly took out his rifle, then held onto the car railing and aimed the gun at the soldiers in the driver's seat.
Before the soldiers in the vehicle could react, Zhou Tong fired a burst of bullets that pierced their bodies.
"Alright, Lao Zhou! Stop hitting them! They're all dead!"
Lu Yuan shouted loudly, and Zhou Tong then put down the gun in his hand.
"Phew! Next time, please give me a heads-up! I almost didn't realize it!"
Lu Yuan smiled. He had originally planned to let Zhou Tong and the others handle it directly, but when he saw that all the soldiers from the United States had boarded the vehicles in the distance, he realized that something was wrong.
His concern was for the satellite's safety. After all, this thing was so precious, yet it was only secured with a few cable ties. Lu Yuan was worried that he might accidentally damage the parts inside the satellite.
Then, Zhou Tong stood up and waved to the scientists: "Everyone, you can get up now! Welcome to the new space!"
No one had time to react; they just felt like they had arrived in a strange place.
But this place is full of fresh, abundant oxygen, and it's no longer pitch black; there are lush green meadows everywhere.
