Lu Yuan drove on for a while and found that many of the tents where refugees lived had disappeared. He also saw military and police personnel among the crowd.
"It seems that Lao Zhou and his men have made their move here. I reckon this place will be even safer than the fortress from now on!"
Lu Yuan gave Xiao Shan a helpless smile, while Xiao Shan maintained her sweet expression.
"Alright, the old house is just ahead!"
As Lu Yuan drove, he pointed to the bulging hillside in the distance, and his family members all leaned out to look.
Sure enough, there were still some lights on around the hillside in the distance.
"That place is just a small earthen mound; you can't see any buildings there!"
"Yes, our old house won't be buried under the mountain, will it? How will you and Xiaoshan live then?"
"Son, don't be so stubborn. The old house is gone, it's gone. We'll rebuild it ourselves later!"
"Yes, this house is already buried underground. Even if we miss it, there's no need to insist on it like this!"
Lu Yuan and Xiao Shan were surprised by their family's words. Normally, older people are more nostalgic than younger people, but to their surprise, their family members seemed to be advising them not to continue living there, which meant they didn't have much attachment to the place.

When they saw that familiar three-story building, the family members stared in astonishment.
Clearly, they hadn't expected that the place they used to live in still existed, and that it looked quite good, as it hadn't collapsed.
Although it's buried in the soil, it still looks pretty good.
Seeing their family's reaction, Lu Yuan and Xiao Shan knew that their family members had probably begun to change their minds this time.
