Chapter 87 Shooting the Thugs

The banging on the door grew louder and louder, and the door quickly became deformed.

Xiao Shan's father, holding the kitchen knife, swallowed hard.

Seeing this, Lu Yuan whispered to Xiao Shan's father, "Uncle! Move away from the gate! I'll handle them!"

Xiao Shan's father glanced back at Lu Yuan, and when he saw the crossbow in Lu Yuan's hand, a hint of surprise immediately appeared in his eyes.

"Lu Yuan, you brought weapons? Why didn't you say so earlier!"

"I was afraid of being exposed too early, but it's okay now, let them break down the door!"

So Xiaoshan's father took a few steps back, and then heard a loud "bang" as the iron gate was kicked open.

A thin man collapsed to the ground from exertion, and several people behind him immediately rushed in.

A cruel expression appeared on Lu Yuan's face, and then he gently pulled the trigger of the crossbow.

With a "whoosh," the crossbow bolt shot out directly from the bowstring, the bowstring making a "thud" sound.

The first person to rush in immediately had a bloody hole in his neck.

"Ah!" The other man immediately covered his neck, but the crossbow bolt was too powerful, and Lu Yuan had aimed at his throat. The bolt pierced through his throat bone and lodged in his neck bone, and blood immediately spurted out several meters from his neck.

Then the man clutched his neck in pain and collapsed to the ground, blood flowing everywhere.

While the others were still in shock, Lu Yuan pulled the trigger again, and another crossbow bolt shot out. A bloody hole appeared on the forehead of the second person, and then the person fell to the ground without a sound, blood immediately flowing out of the hole.

Just as the thin man who had fallen to the ground was about to get up, Lu Yuan had already aimed his crosshair at his chest and pulled the trigger. The crossbow bolt, carrying tremendous kinetic energy, pierced through his chest, and the man immediately collapsed to the ground in pain again, blood flowing from between his fingers, which he could not stop.

Three people remained and tried to escape, but Lu Yuan wasn't about to let them go. If he let them go today, they would definitely come back. He immediately aimed again...

After several months of practice, Lu Yuan's shooting skills have become quite high. It would be a bit of an exaggeration to say that he can hit a target from 100 paces away, but he can still hit any target within 50 meters.

Soon, all of them had reached the bottom, leaving only one person who was fleeing in panic. Lu Yuan had used up all five crossbow bolts and could only watch helplessly as the person escaped.

Looking at the people lying on the ground in front of the door, Lu Yuan felt his heart race. He had just killed people, and he couldn't act as if nothing had happened. Although these people were robbers who wanted to threaten his life, they were still living beings.

He stood there blankly for a long time until Xiaoshan's dad patted him on the shoulder and he finally woke up.

"Uncle! I... I killed someone?"

Xiao Shan's father said with a firm look and a hint of gratitude, "Lu Yuan, you did the right thing! These people all deserved to die. You just saved our family! You are a hero!"

Xiao Shan burst into tears, covering her mouth and throwing herself into Lu Yuan's arms, sobbing uncontrollably. If it weren't for Lu Yuan, her whole family would probably be lying on the ground by now.

Shaking his head to shake off the fear, Lu Yuan said to the three of them, "Xiao Shan, Uncle, Aunt, we need to deal with these bodies! Otherwise, we'll still be in trouble!"

Xiao Shan's father quickly said, "There's a place by the roadside where they specifically dump corpses, it's fine to throw them there!"

Xiao Shan's mother nodded with tears in her eyes, saying, "Yes. So many people have been killed by robbers recently, and there wasn't enough time to send them to the crematorium, so they were all dumped there!"

So Lu Yuan quickly dragged a corpse in the direction Xiao Shan's father was pointing, while Xiao Shan's father also dragged a corpse.

After everyone had quickly disposed of all the bodies, Lu Yuan looked at the dilapidated gate, gritted his teeth, and said, "Don't take anything else, just take all the cash and savings and come with me! Now!"

"Can we come back?" Xiao Shan asked with some reluctance as she looked at the home she had lived in for more than 20 years.

"Maybe another time! But I've already arranged a place for you to stay, so it's okay if you don't want to go there!"

So Xiaoshan's parents quickly packed their things, and then Lu Yuan led the three of them at breakneck speed straight toward the park.

Passing by the site of the shooting, the police cars had vanished, and the bodies of the robbers who had been killed were lying abandoned on the road.

The entire road was littered with scraps of paper and all sorts of household garbage. It looked less like a city and more like a garbage dump.

Finally, they got into the car. Luckily, no one noticed. Once the four of them were in the car, Lu Yuan floored the accelerator, ignoring all traffic lights, and sped straight home.

On the way, they encountered a group of robbers who were planning to rob them. Lu Yuan did not slow down at all and drove straight into them, which scared the robbers into scattering immediately.

When they arrived home, Lu's parents were overjoyed to see their in-laws and Xiao Shan. However, after hearing about what had happened, they were immediately filled with fear.

Especially after hearing Lu Yuan's recording, the group huddled together in fear.

Grandma, tears streaming down her face, held Xiaoshan's hand and said, "Girl, don't go back. Stay here. The city is too dangerous! Be good!"

"Okay, Grandma, I understand. We're not going back!"

The two families sat together happily chatting. Lu's mother personally cooked a table full of food. Xiaoshan's parents ate while shedding tears. Thinking about what had just happened, they couldn't imagine what would have happened if it weren't for Lu Yuan. However, the thought of living here in the future still made them feel a little conflicted.

After dinner, Lu Yuan urged them to rest, but Xiao Shan's father still felt a little awkward. When Lu Yuan saw him, he knew why he was so awkward. Although Xiao Shan's father usually seemed carefree, he was actually a very chauvinistic man. He was not used to the feeling of being dependent on others. Even though this was his son-in-law's home, he still felt somewhat uncomfortable.

"Uncle, are you not used to living here? Let me take you somewhere else!"

"Is it the new house you mentioned on the way here?" Xiaoshan's father asked Lu Yuan.

"Yes, I actually wanted to bring you here a long time ago, but I was worried that you wouldn't be used to living here, so I bought a house!"

"But...that's too expensive!"

"Hehe. It's not expensive at all, it only cost a few hundred kilograms of rice and ten kilograms of meat! You'll definitely like it!"
