Chapter 877 Uninvited Guest

Lu Yuan shook his head in confusion.

“I’m not too sure either. I just saw a few flashlights and a few people around here. If it’s really Lao Zhou and his group coming over in this heavy rain, it would be troublesome if they encountered any danger. I’m going out to check what’s going on and I’ll be back in a bit.”

Upon hearing Lu Yuan's words, a hint of worry flashed across Xiao Shan's face.

"The wind is too strong outside, so be careful. Remember to tie your safety rope securely, and don't let the wind blow you away."

Lu Yuan nodded gently, walked up to Xiao Shan, and kissed her on the forehead.

Then he picked up Qiqi from the ground and gave her a sweet kiss.

"Alright, I'll head over now."

After saying that, Lu Yuan arrived at the exit gate.

This gate is separated by several doors.

Just like the entrance and exit of a submarine, you first open the main door on the first floor, then walk to the middle compartment, close the back door, and then open the front door. This way, you can prevent strong winds from blowing in the moment the door opens.

In the middle cubicle, Lu Yuan changed into a specially made raincoat.

He still vividly remembers his last cold. Even with his excellent physical condition, he could catch a cold. Lu Yuan felt as if God had given him another chance, so he had to make sure he was safe.

The safety rope was carefully tied to the large iron gate. This safety rope was reinforced with high-strength steel wire. As long as the safety rope was tied around the waist, even if there was a strong wind, it would be impossible to blow a person away.

Furthermore, Lu Yuan installed a rope retraction device in this location. This way, even if he is too weak to return, he can simply press a button to retract the rope and bring him back into the room.

After making sure he was safe, Lu Yuan took a waterproof flashlight and went outside.

In the distance, lights were still flashing back and forth, as if someone was searching for something nearby.

Due to the strong winds outside, Lu Yuan could barely make out the other person's appearance.

The other party didn't seem to have noticed Lu Yuan's presence. Originally, Lu Yuan planned to shine a flashlight first to indicate his location to the other party.

However, he sensed that these people were acting suspiciously and searching for something, so he put away his flashlight, making it almost impossible for them to spot him in this stormy weather.

A fierce wind blew, and Lu Yuan cautiously approached the other party, each step requiring a great deal of effort.

The water on the ground was already above knee-deep, and it got deeper as we went further.

When he was about 100 meters behind the other party, Lu Yuan hid behind a concrete block on the ground and quietly observed.

These men were squatting on the spot, holding hoes and other tools, digging into the ground, while others stood nearby cautiously on guard.

Each of them was also tied with a safety rope, which was attached to a huge armored vehicle.

Although the armored vehicle was secured, their clothes were almost billowing in the strong wind, making them look like a pufferfish that had been inflated.

Because they cannot communicate with each other, they have to shout loudly into each other's ears to make the other person hear them.

Lu Yuan walked up to them again and discovered that the men had dug a pit about five meters deep in the ground.

The location where the other party dug the pit was directly above the entrance to the tunnel beneath their house.

"But what are these people doing? Could it be that they've discovered the tunnel beneath my house and are planning to come in?"

Thinking of this, Lu Yuan immediately became vigilant.

The clothes these people are wearing don't look like the clothes from inside the fortress; they're probably from Luo Xuan's camp.

Lu Yuan took a few more steps forward, until he was about ten meters behind the other person, and they still hadn't noticed him.

Lu Yuan watched quietly as they dug deeper into the pit, carefully examining the blueprints as they dug. Then, someone shouted loudly from the group of people nearby.

"We've dug down to three meters deep, and some concrete has appeared at the bottom. It seems this must be the tunnel beneath Lu Yuan's house!"

"That's right, this is it. Keep digging, maybe we can find Lu Yuan's residence. It's said that he has a lot of grain there. If we can occupy his house, we might be able to take back the grain he has stockpiled here, as well as the best soil!"

Lu Yuan, standing at a distance, couldn't hear very clearly, but he vaguely sensed that the other party seemed to be heading towards him.

So he pulled out a dagger from his waist and quietly walked behind the other person. Even when he was about two meters away, the other person still did not notice his presence.

So he gently patted someone on the shoulder.

The other person waved his hand impatiently, but when he turned around, he saw someone suddenly appear behind him, which startled him so much that he sat down on the ground.

Lu Yuan played with the dagger in his hand with amusement. When the other man saw that it was Lu Yuan, his face showed shock and panic. He shouted loudly, trembling.

"Stop digging, all of you!"

The people digging the pit below seemed not to hear him at all, continuing to dig downwards on their own.
