Chapter 882 Going Home

Lu Yuan drove his car desperately toward his hometown, as an extreme superstorm was slowly approaching.

The sound of the superstorm behind us was like someone starting up a giant combine harvester, constantly digging up the hard rocks on the ground.

The people inside the car remained silent. They knew that this departure might be their last chance to return, so all they could do now was wait patiently and pray for the people of the fortress.

Soon the car arrived at Lu Yuan and Xiao Shan's residence. Fortunately, the journey was uneventful. Although they encountered strong winds and a large number of rocks hit the car windows, causing spiderweb-like cracks in the hard glass, Lu Yuan's driving skills were still quite good.

After returning to their long-missed home, the family members got out of the car one by one.

Seeing the house that Lu Yuan had already renovated, I was immediately filled with emotion.

"Sigh, this is my first time visiting your renovated house. I never expected you to transform it like this. It seems like this house can withstand a super storm without any problems."

"Yes, I didn't expect you to have kept this house so well; it looks very sturdy."

"Let's go in quickly and see how our eldest granddaughter is doing. I haven't seen her in so long. I wonder if the little one has forgotten about me!"

So the group got out of the car and braved the torrential rain to enter the first gate.

After being washed away by a general flush behind the first gate, all the mud and sand on its body were washed off.

Then Lu Yuan opened the second gate, and after passing through several gates, the family returned to their residence.

Xiao Shan had already seen Lu Yuan returning with his family through the monitor in her room.

She held her child tightly and waited quietly with Aunt Liu at the door, her heart pounding with excitement.

The electric gate opened with a creaking sound.

Lu Yuan appeared inside the house with his family. Xiao Shan, holding the child, couldn't help but burst into tears.

Lu Yuan stepped forward and gave Xiao Shan a hug, then gently kissed the child's cheek.

Family members also came over one by one to hug the child.

"Great! We're finally reunited. It's been so long since we last met. Xiaoshan, you've lost a lot of weight lately!"

Lu's mother's eyes were filled with tears as she looked at Xiao Shan's thin face and felt a pang of heartache.

Xiaoshan has become increasingly thin lately due to excessive worry and the constant feeding of dimensional crystals.

After entering the house, everyone casually placed their luggage and belongings in the living room.

Upon seeing this enormous fortress consisting of two houses, the family members nodded in satisfaction.

"With this place, it seems we can get through this disaster safely from now on!"

"Yes, I wonder how long this superstorm will last, and whether our fortress can hold out until it passes!"

"Sigh, I wonder how things are at the fortress. It should be under martial law by now, and everyone should have gone home, right?"

Although they had arrived at the new house, everyone was still worried about the safety of the fortress.

After living there for so long, I've developed a lot of feelings for the people around me. It would be a lie to say I'm not worried.

Lu Yuan smiled and waved to his family.

"There are plenty of rooms here, so please go and choose your own rooms first!"

However, I would suggest staying in the old house. Although the new house is newer, its sturdiness may not be as good as the old house.

After all, a house built in just a few days is bound to be less sturdy than the previous one!

The family members nodded in agreement, picked up their luggage, and began looking for their rooms.

They basically went to their respective residences in the same rooms they had stayed in before, and all the furniture in the houses had been replaced with new ones.

That evening, everyone prepared a sumptuous dinner as a welcome back party.

After having dinner, they went back to their rooms. Lu Yuan and Xiao Shan lay on the bed, seemingly reflecting on the recent events.

"Thank goodness you brought our family back, otherwise I would have been very worried about their safety if this superstorm had come!"

"Sigh, who can argue with that? Once the superstorm comes, the fortress will definitely suffer the most severe damage. The superstorm looks terrifying."

The clouds above are carrying a large amount of water. If all of this water were to fall, the entire fortress would become a vast ocean, and this area would probably turn into a sea too!

Xiao Shan was also slightly moved. After pondering for a moment, she turned over in bed and looked directly at Lu Yuan.

"Do you think our houses are safe enough? Can they withstand this superstorm?"

Upon hearing this, Lu Yuan pondered for a moment.

"I don't know if we can withstand this superstorm. After all, the power of this superstorm is not to be underestimated. The huge wind force can even overturn the road surface. Our protective layer made of concrete will probably suffer some damage as well!"

"How about we do some repairs on this house another day, to see if there's anything we've missed? I'm really worried that if these protective layers are destroyed by the superstorm, water will seep in and cause trouble!"

"Alright, in that case, let's rest for a day, and tomorrow we'll start inspecting the house and try to check all the potentially dangerous areas!"

The two discussed it briefly before falling into a deep sleep.

The next morning, Grandma made a hearty breakfast as usual.

Lu's mother and Xiaoshan's mother both brought out their best cooking skills, as they hadn't cooked in a long time.

So after arriving at this little home, in order to prevent themselves from being idle every day, they even prepared things like rouge and kimchi to stock up on.

Lu's father and Xiaoshan's father went to the third basement level, observed the area once, and then prepared to divide the planting area there.

All kinds of crops need to be well managed, after all, food diversity is very important, at least to ensure that whatever they want to eat, there is something readily available in the vegetable garden.

After all, once their food reserves are exhausted, their only food source will be this land. Without this land, they might have to eat meat every day.

After breakfast, the family members sat down together and chatted.
