Chapter 938 The Mysterious Hospital Building

After changing into his protective suit and diving mask, Lu's father picked up his gun, waved to his family, and left the room.

Lu's mother felt a little nervous, but not particularly afraid. They had undergone a period of training before approaching.

Through this period of training, they have also developed some correct ways of dealing with death and injury.

Fear alone cannot prevent death and injury; rather, we must face them proactively and find ways to resolve these problems.

After watching Lu's father disappear through the door of the room, Lu's mother couldn't help but sigh.

I glanced furtively in Xiao Shan's direction and realized that I felt pretty much the same way she did.

So she put on a smiling face and said, "Xiao Shan, don't be sad! Lu Yuan is actually thinking of us!"

However, to Lu's mother's surprise, Xiao Shan was not as polite as before this time.

Her face flushed red, she shouted at Lu's mother, "What do you mean, 'Don't be sad'! What do you know! Every time Lu Yuan goes out, he takes so much risk. You're not worried, but I am! After all, he's the father of my child and my husband!"

Upon hearing Xiaoshan say this, Xiaoshan's mother and father quickly stopped her.

"Xiaoshan, how can you talk to your mother like that! Apologize right now! It's so rude of you!"

"My dear in-law, don't worry about it! Xiaoshan is probably just feeling down. Don't take it too seriously; she's probably not fully recovered yet!"

Aunt Lu waved her hand dismissively, "It's alright, I understand how Xiaoshan feels! It's okay!"

After saying that, Lu's mother wanted to say something more, but seeing Xiao Shan's unfriendly look, she immediately shrank back.

For a moment, the atmosphere at home became a little awkward, but it seemed impossible to have a private conversation, since everyone was currently in quarantine.

Lu Yuan sat silently in his transparent tent, flipping through a book haphazardly in his hand.

My mind was in complete turmoil; I didn't know what I was thinking.

Meanwhile, Lu's father had already left his residence and arrived at the ruins of the fortress.

The bodies that were originally at the residence had mostly drifted downstream, and the blood-red water had finally returned to normal.

Lu's father carefully swung his flippers toward the distant building.

The building was originally supposed to be painted pure white, and it was a hospital building.

However, the original color of the exterior walls is no longer visible; instead, they are covered with a pitted and uneven plaster surface.

Mr. Lu gripped the gun tightly in his hand and decided to go to the hospital to check on things.

Although he knew that hospitals were definitely the most dangerous places during this period.

Firstly, hospitals are the places where people come into contact with the most pathogens, and the number of germs here is also very large. In addition, the population here is very dense, which makes the air here very polluted.

If you take a deep breath, you'll probably find that half the air is filled with viruses, and the other half is oxygen or something.

After some thought, Mr. Lu decided to take a different approach, since the area from the ninth floor to the twentieth floor of the building was residential.

The medical room is located between the 21st and 25th floors.

Lu's father came to a place that didn't seem to have many windows, looked up, and then found a suitable foothold to start setting up his climbing gear.

In the past few days, at their strong request, Lu Yuan customized a lot of special forces training courses for them.

This includes rappelling and rock climbing, which are some of the most commonly used training methods in special forces.

Mr. Lu is quite skilled at rock climbing. He took out some anti-slip powder, applied it to his hands, tightened his clothes, checked the safety rope and buckle, and then began to climb.

The climbing speed wasn't very fast. After all, this place was different from the mountainous terrain. It was the outer layer of a building, and apart from a few windowsills that he could use for leverage, there wasn't much else for him to grab onto.

Fortunately, the exterior wall wasn't particularly tough due to the superstorm, and Mr. Lu could easily wed his fingers into the cracks.

So, Lu's father continued to move upwards.

Soon, Mr. Lu looked down at the height below, and then observed the position above his head.

"Phew! We've finally arrived! That's great! I can go and ask around with peace of mind now! I hope the doctors are still there!"

Then, after moving a few meters laterally, Lu's father arrived at the windowsill.

I glanced inside and saw that the room was a mess. There were three desks, but each one looked like it had been abandoned for a long time.

So Lu's father went straight inside and checked the documents in the room.

Most of the documents here were left over a month ago.

Clearly, the doctor in this room must have left the fortress.

So he pushed open the door, peeking out through only a tiny crack.

Suddenly, a creaking sound echoed through the empty hallway.

"Huh? Nobody's here? How is that possible! This is a hospital! I don't recall hearing that everyone in the hospital was evacuated!"

Mr. Lu scratched his head slightly, then opened the door.

The dark stairwell was completely silent, except for the occasional screams that could be heard, whether from upstairs or downstairs.
