"Xiaoqin, are you really not planning to come over there with me? I'll tell you a secret!" Zhou Chen's voice carried a hint of slyness, his big eyes blinking as he looked at her.
Xiaoqin seemed to be softening a little, because nothing had happened for a long time and she was really bored. Although she wanted to stay by her brother's side, she wanted him to do his own thing even more.
Wang Mingming seemed to see the longing in her younger sister's eyes, so she squatted down, smiled, and gently patted her shoulder: "Xiaoqin, it's okay, go play! I'll come and call you back in a bit!"
Xiaoqin's eyes showed a hint of hesitation as she looked at Wang Mingming, seemingly wanting to say something but holding on tighter.
"Brother, why don't you go chat with the uncles later? I'll just stay here and not say a word!"
Wang Mingming smiled and said, "Alright, everyone here is a good person, don't worry! My brother is nearby, just call me if you need anything! It's really not good to always reject other people's kindness like this! You should find a friend now!"
Zhou Chen blinked her big eyes and quickly said, "Yes, yes! Let's be friends! I still have lots of White Rabbit milk candies! Uncle Lu gave them to me!"
Hearing that there were White Rabbit candies, Xiaoqin looked up at Wang Mingming, then took out two White Rabbit candies from her pocket: "Brother, can I...can I share one with her?"
"Of course! Good things are always best shared with friends!"
Xiaoqin finally nodded firmly: "Xiaochen, thank you for being my friend. Let's switch!"
As she spoke, Xiaoqin handed the two big black White Rabbit milk candies in her hand to the other person. Zhou Chen didn't even hesitate when he saw the two White Rabbit milk candies in her hand.
"Thank you! I accept it. From now on, you'll be my best friend!" she said, grinning to reveal two adorable little tiger teeth.
Xiaoqin smiled and took two brand-new White Rabbit milk candies wrapped in candy wrappers from the other person's hand.
"Okay! Let's go play! By the way, what secret did you say you wanted to tell me?"
The two little girls walked side by side toward the distance, and Wang Mingming couldn't help but smile as she watched their backs.
Another boring day began for everyone, and a little girl who was running around happily added a touch of joy to the otherwise lifeless camp.
Lu Yuan squatted to the side, smoking idly. A large pile of cigarettes had already accumulated on the ground, but out of boredom, Lu Yuan could only open another pack.
Zhou Tong's face darkened.
"Can you please stop smoking?! You've smoked three packs of cigarettes today!"
Lu Yuan was taken aback for a moment: "Um... but if we don't smoke, are we supposed to play Connect Four?"
The group chuckled, seemingly having discovered something to pass the time. They quickly found some stones nearby, carved characters on them, and began playing chess.
More and more people gathered to watch, and even the usually reluctant Mr. Lu joined in the fun.
"You can't make that move! You have to capture his cannon first, and then checkmate him!"
"No, no, the horse can't cross the river, you have to guard your cart!"
"Hey, driver! Stop just using your car all the time!"
Grandpa kept pointing and gesturing, which made Lu Yuan lose all interest in playing chess.
"Grandpa, how about a couple of rounds?"
A hint of joy appeared on Master Lu's face, and then he rubbed his hands together.
"You bunch of terrible chess players, playing against you is no fun at all! Forget it!"
Although he said he didn't want to play chess, his body language betrayed him, and he sat down in front of Lu Yuan.
Who else is coming?
Everyone looked at each other, bewildered, as they stared at Lu Yuan.
To be honest, Grandpa's chess skills aren't actually that high. Everyone just kept quiet because of Lu Yuan.
Lu Yuan chuckled awkwardly, "Alright, everyone, just show your skills! Whoever wins a game gets an extra piece of meat tonight!"
These words immediately caused an uproar among the crowd. Everyone rolled up their sleeves, eager to try their luck, and no longer showed any intention of letting Lu Yuan win.
Watching the crowd happily watching and waiting for the next person to be eliminated, Lu Yuan sighed and then patted Xiwen on the shoulder.
"Let's go! Let's go for a smoke!"
Xiwen glanced at Lu Yuan, then turned to look at Xiao Shan behind Lu Yuan.
"Forget it, there's something off about the way your sister-in-law's eyes! I can't smoke with you anymore!"
Lu Yuan also turned around and glanced at her, and sure enough, he found Xiao Shan sitting in front of Han Wen, staring at him, making a gouging motion with her hand, and seemingly saying something.
"Sigh! You have to control everything! I advise you not to get a girlfriend in the future!"
Xiwen blushed slightly, then glanced furtively at Hanwen in the distance.
"Um... I'm not in a hurry! Hehe!"
With a sigh, Zhou Tong followed.
"Ugh! These lousy chess players are just unbelievable! Got a cigarette?"
Lu Yuan glanced at the other person: "Didn't you say you wouldn't smoke?"
"Ahem! Times have changed! Hurry up and take it out!"
Lu Yuan smiled, then suddenly exclaimed, "Hey! Brother Zhou, how could you encourage me to smoke? Honestly! I was planning to quit smoking!"
Just as Zhou Tong was about to retort, he saw two little girls running towards him from a distance.
"Holy crap! You've gone too far!"
Lu Yuan chuckled, then took out a cigarette from his pocket, spread it around, and began to puff away.
