Lu Yuan smiled when he saw Cao Shan's nervous expression.
"Alright, take it. Don't be shy. I consider you a brother. Take care of yourself from now on!"
As he spoke, Lu Yuan patted the other person on the shoulder.
Cao Shan was so excited that he didn't know how to express himself, and could only repeat those few words of gratitude over and over again.
Watching Cao Shan's cheerful figure disappear into the distance, Lu Yuan's expression immediately darkened.
Then he closed the door and sat down on Du Heng's sofa.
Du Heng was also puzzled by Lu Yuan's condition.
"Who upset you? Why is your face so long? You were perfectly fine just a moment ago."
"It's Huang Feng! Those guys did a terrible job! I'm not giving them any food!"
Du Heng's eyes widened immediately after hearing this.

Du Heng said apologetically, "I'm sorry, this is mainly my fault. As the person in charge of this project, I failed to fulfill my responsibilities!"

Du Heng quickly packed his things and left.
After lunch, Lu Yuan went to check how things were going, but he didn't see Du Heng in his office.
Just then, Deng Yuanyuan came in carrying a lunchbox and was taken aback when she saw Lu Yuan.
"Lu Yuan, what are you doing here?"
"Oh! I'm waiting for Lao Du! Where is he?"
Deng Yuanyuan sighed: "Sigh! I got into a fight with someone and my arm got hurt. I just bandaged it up for him. He still wants to go out, so I came to get him some things!"
"What? Old Du got beaten up? How serious is it? Who did it?" Lu Yuan was so shocked that he stood up immediately.
"It's nothing serious! Just a minor scrape on his butt. I was worried he might do something rash again, so I sent him away first!"
"Who did this? Was it Huang Feng and his gang?"
After pondering for a long time, Deng Yuanyuan finally nodded: "Originally, Lao Du didn't want me to tell you. It's all his fault. He didn't handle a small task well, and he's blaming himself in his room right now!"
"Alright, Old Du, I'll go check on him!"
As he spoke, Lu Yuan followed Deng Yuanyuan to their residence.
From a distance, I could see Lao Du arguing with the two guards at the gate.

However, the two guards stood in front of the door with troubled expressions, refusing to let him leave.

Seeing this, Deng Yuanyuan quickly stepped forward, put her hands on her hips, and whispered, "Du Heng! What did you just say?"

With that, Lu Yuan turned to the two guards and ordered, "You two keep an eye on him. If he doesn't behave, tie him to the bed!"

Lu Yuan has already left.

Du Heng looked around, then waved to Lu Yuan and whispered.

"It's Sun Qiang from our camp. His brother-in-law is the supervisor of water supply and drainage. He always goes to see his brother-in-law for no reason, and they always whisper something to each other. Upon arriving at the water supply and drainage area, several people in charge of managing the drainage immediately called out to Lu Yuan.
Lu Yuan quickly gestured for them to be quiet: "Don't speak! You guys go find Supervisor Wei for me! Ask her to come here!"
The two exchanged a glance and immediately turned and left.
Lu Yuan tiptoed inside. The door was locked from the inside, and it was dark inside, but there were some sounds. Lu Yuan heard the sound of running water, but it was very faint.
