When Zhao Tinghai and his group rushed into the base, Lu Yuan and the others immediately felt a sense of unease.
Lu Yuan could no longer care about anything else and rushed out of the gate. Hei Zi, Ou Chen, and the others also picked up walkie-talkies and told everyone to leave the camp.
With a whoosh, everyone gathered outside the camp's lawn, glaring angrily at Zhao Tinghai and his group who were fishing in the river.
"Put everything down!"
Lu Yuan shouted angrily at the other party.
The group was immediately startled by Lu Yuan's voice. When they looked up, they saw a dark mass of people rushing towards them.
Zhao Tinghai had thought that there was no one left in Lu Yuan's camp, but when he found that so many people had suddenly appeared, he was so frightened that he quickly pulled out his pistol.
"Put these things down for me!"
Lu Yuan roared again, but several people who were already starving ignored Lu Yuan's attempts to stop them and grabbed the fish to stuff into their mouths.
Zhao Tinghai cursed inwardly, then looked somewhat frightened.
"Lu Yuan, we're all from District 5, there's no need to be so ruthless. We're just passing by, can't we at least get some food?"
Lu Yuan looked at the other party and sneered.
"People from Sector Five? Ha! You were the ones who led the charge in kicking us out! Now you're telling me you're all from Sector Five? I'll fucking swear!"
After saying that, Lu Yuan raised his hand and fired a shot directly at the man who was desperately stuffing fish into his mouth.
With a "bang," a gunshot rang out, and before the man could react, he fell back into the pond.
Seeing one of his men fall, Zhao Tinghai angrily shouted at Lu Yuan, "Are you fucking crazy? How dare you fire a gun!"
"I've already said, this is my territory, we don't welcome you, get out right now!"
Zhao Tinghai glanced at the person beside him, then looked at the person behind Lu Yuan. The difference in strength between the two sides was extraordinary.
He had fled here with a hundred or so defeated soldiers, while Lu Yuan's men were all incredibly strong and healthy. Although there were quite a few children and women among them, they were mainly strong young men.
If war really breaks out, it's only a matter of time before they are all killed.
Thinking of this, Zhao Tinghai broke out in a cold sweat and gripped the gun tightly, his last resort.
"Get out here, all of you! Stop stealing other people's fish!"
Zhao Tinghai shouted at the people behind him.
However, few people paid him any attention. They had been starving for too long, and in the Rift Valley mines, they were not well fed or dressed, and they had to worry about attacks from the black fog and collapses all day long.
Now they've arrived at someone else's camp and discovered that while they're also mining, Lu Yuan's people are feasting on meat and living in comfortable houses. How could they not feel envious and jealous?
Finally, even Zhao Tinghai himself couldn't stand it anymore. If these incompetent teammates really angered Lu Yuan, then they might be doomed here.
Based on the paramount principle of prioritizing survival, Zhao Tinghai slowly raised his hands.
"Lu Yuan, we have no past grudges or recent conflicts. I'll take my men and leave immediately, as if we were never here!"
Lu Yuan nodded slightly, then pointed his gun towards the door.
"You have one minute, or don't blame me for being ruthless!"
Zhao Tinghai gritted his teeth, but there was nothing he could do. A look of resentment flashed in his eyes, and then a vicious thought appeared in his mind.
Then Zhao Tinghai waved his hand and shouted to the people behind him. Everyone reluctantly put down the fish in their hands and followed Zhao Tinghai away from Lu Yuan's base.
As the crowd slowly withdrew from the base, everyone breathed a sigh of relief. However, Lu Yuan believed that the other party's quick agreement must mean they had other motives.
After all, their secrets in his base had been discovered, and these people certainly wouldn't let him off so easily. They would definitely be brewing even more vicious plans, but leaving now was just a delaying tactic.
For safety's sake, Lu Yuan quickly had someone find a new lock and replace it.
The crisis was not yet over, and Lu Yuan still told everyone to return to their rooms to take shelter, because they still had important things to do to save millions of people in District 5.
...
The group sat silently in the room, heads bowed. After all, this matter concerned the life and death of everyone, and Lu Yuan and the others dared not be too careless.
After a long silence, Lu Yuan sighed: "If you ask me, this matter concerns the lives of 500 people in our base. We shouldn't keep it from them! Let everyone below vote by show of hands and see what they think!"
Upon hearing this, Hei Zi's face immediately showed a look of surprise: "Are you crazy? If we tell the people at the base about this, I'm sure very few of them will agree to us blowing up that volcano and drawing the black fog here!"
Ou Chen nodded slightly: "That's right, Hei Zi is right. If we tell the people below about this, I doubt many of them will agree. After all, they've all survived under such high pressure, and it's not easy for them. Telling them might not get approved!"
After a moment of contemplation, Lu Yuan looked at them and asked, "Are you also planning to go and rescue the people up there?"
The group fell silent, clearly indicating that their answer was certain.
At this moment, Zhou Qi, who had been silent all along, suddenly raised his hand.
