"Sizzle~ Sizzle~"
On the dimly lit street, an old man was riding a dilapidated tricycle toward the street corner, with a giant dog crouching on his vehicle.
The dog was enormous; if it stood up, it would probably be as tall as an adult. Its entire body was covered in thick, black fur, so thick that it completely obscured its facial features. If you didn't look at its size, you wouldn't be able to tell that it was a large dog.
What's strange is that the old man carried the dog on his bicycle with ease, despite its large size, as if the bicycle was completely unloaded.
But at that moment, something strange happened. When the old man rode his tricycle to a bend, the big dog that was squatting on the tricycle suddenly disappeared into thin air!
On the commercial street, Yue Jiuling and Ya Zi were on duty for the second day. Since their other colleagues were 'slacking off', they had no choice but to work diligently.
"Ugh, so boring. I wonder if that snotty-nosed devil will come out again tonight."
Ya Zi leaned against the entrance of the bookstore like a lazy bum, complaining to Yue Jiu Ling beside him with extreme boredom.
Yue Jiuling understood his expression; because she was worried that the 'snotty demon' might launch a surprise attack, Ya Zi hadn't dared to use his phone much today.
Yue Jiuling said, "Tsk~ Let's just bear with it. Luckily, that snotty-nosed demon hasn't eaten anyone these past two days, otherwise we wouldn't be having such an easy time."
"Okay, I know, but can't I really go buy something to eat?"
Ya Zi turned to Yue Jiu Ling and made a small request. Since it was already past midnight and the 'snotty monster' might appear at any moment, Yue Jiu Ling forbade Ya Zi, the glutton, from going to buy snacks, worried that he might encounter danger.
However, Ya Zi was just too greedy, so he couldn't resist going to the convenience store on the next street to buy snacks.
He pleaded with Yue Jiuling, "Oh, Jiuling, my dear Jiuling, please let me go! I didn't eat much for dinner tonight, and I'm so hungry now. Besides, I'm a powerful demon, so even if it wanted to ambush me, it wouldn't be so easy for it to succeed."
Upon hearing his words, Yue Jiuling coldly replied, "Give me a break! You say you ate little at night? I saw you eat three whole bowls of rice!"
Because they ate dinner together that night, Yue Jiuling remembered exactly how much Ya Zi ate.
Even after being exposed, Ya Zi wasn't embarrassed. He chuckled and said, "Oh, I didn't expect you to remember so clearly how many bowls of rice I ate. It seems you care about me a lot."
Seeing Ya Zi's smile, Yue Jiuling was speechless. She only just realized that Ya Zi was not only stingy, but also shameless. She said helplessly, "Fine, you can go if you want, but I'm going with you."
Yue Jiuling realized it was getting late and decided it was better to go with Ya Zi to avoid any trouble if they were unlucky enough to encounter that thing.
When Ya Zi heard Yue Jiu Ling say that he could go shopping and that she would accompany him, he immediately became happy.
He became as happy as a child, and then pulled Yue Jiuling towards the convenience store: "Hey, let me tell you~ I saw that store got a new ice cream today, it looks so delicious, let me treat you to some."
Yue Jiuling knew this guy was a big glutton, so she shook her head helplessly and said, "Alright, let's hurry back!"
Ya Zi happily took Yue Jiu Ling to the convenience store, and after searching through the refrigerator for a long time, she finally found the new product.
However, I frowned as soon as I saw the new product, Yue Jiu Ling. All I saw on the packaging was "Northern Iron Pot Stew"? And it was supposed to be pork floss, milk, and scallion flavored...
"Um, Second Young Master, are you sure this ice cream is delicious?"
Yue Jiuling looked at the ice cream in her hand with suspicion. Was the flavor a little strange?
Before Ya Zi could speak, the proprietress next to him spoke up first. She was a plump, fair-skinned auntie. She said with a smile, "Oh my, this flavor is so delicious! It's salty and savory. “Then let’s give it a try,” Ya Zi said. “Actually, I only wanted to try it because I saw someone else buying it that day.”
When Yue Jiuling heard what they said, she also wanted to try the new flavor. Unexpectedly, she found it to be quite delicious!
"Hmm, it's alright."
Yue Jiuling, munching on a salty, sweet, and savory ice cream, said to Ya Zi beside her. Ya Zi had already opened his ice cream and was eating it. He nodded and continued searching for his favorite snacks, saying:
"Isn't it delicious? I really like this flavor too. Mmm~ I can't take it anymore, I love it so much. Whenever I have time, I'm going to buy more to take back to my dorm and office so I can eat it often."
Yue Jiuling watched as Ya Zi took a huge pile of snacks to pay the bill and said speechlessly, "Hey~ we're still at work. Is it really okay for you to buy so much stuff all at once? It's like you're going out for a midnight snack."
Upon hearing Yue Jiuling's words, Ya Zi said, "Oh, what's the big deal? We're just standing there bored anyway. It's better to eat something than to stand there and feed the mosquitoes."
As Ya Zi spoke, he took out his money to pay the bill, and after paying, he pulled Yue Jiuling away.
