When Uncle Zhao saw that Lao Wu and Lao Hei's faces were as sour as if they had eaten several pounds of dog excrement, he sneered and said, "What? Am I wrong?"
Old Hei turned and glared at Uncle Zhao without saying a word. Old Wu, however, wiped his face with mixed feelings and said, "You're right. Nothing is guaranteed to succeed. But fortune favors the bold. If you want money, you have to risk your life. Don't you agree?"
Uncle Zhao chuckled and said, "Hey~ that's right, you're really optimistic, brother~"
Old Hei looked at the two of them and then said, "Alright, it's getting late, let's get some rest. I'm going in first."
Old Hei went back into the tent after saying that, and Uncle Zhao and Old Wu had nothing more to say to each other, so they greeted each other and went into the tent.
At midnight, a sudden downpour began, with lightning and thunder as if Thor were raging.
Yue Jiu Nian and Yue Jiu Zai were half asleep when the heavy rain woke them up. They couldn't find shelter and were instantly soaked to the bone.
The two of them crouched under a big tree to take shelter from the rain. Actually, they would get wet in this place too, and there was even a possibility of being struck by lightning, but they couldn't find anywhere else to take shelter, so they had no choice but to crouch under the tree.
"Ah Qiu~"
Yue Jiu Nian covered her nose and sneezed: "Ugh~ It was so hot at noon, but now that it's raining, I'm actually feeling a bit chilly~"
Yue Jiu Zai draped his soaked clothes over their heads and said, "Are you cold? My biggest worry right now is whether we'll get struck by lightning. Damn it, don't forget we were split souls created by lightning."
"Of course I know that, but where can we go?" Yue Jiu Nian peeked out at the heavy rain and said, "Let's just bear with it, maybe the rain will stop when it stops."
But just as she finished speaking, another clap of thunder suddenly rang out from the sky, "Boom!" and then the rain poured down even harder.
Yue Jiu Nian was startled by the thunder. She paused, blinked, looked up at the sky, and said, "Damn it! Can't you give me any face?!"
"Hehe, you idiot~"
Yue Jiu laughed at his friend, "I told you to be normal. At this time of year, people are afraid of being struck by lightning or getting sick, and you're still making a fuss."
Yue Jiu Nian was already showing signs of catching a cold. She was worried that she would get sick at this time. Human bodies are so fragile, what if she got sick and died?
"Ugh, so annoying. Can't I have a bit more luck?"
Just as they were complaining about the weather, they suddenly heard a 'rustling' sound from nearby, like something crawling rapidly on the ground.
Upon hearing the voice, Yue Jiu Nian was puzzled: "Huh? What's that voice?"
"I don't know, maybe some animal's home was flooded, so it came out at this time?"
Yue Jiuzai also felt something was strange, but she didn't want to check it out. She just wanted the rain to stop quickly so they could get some rest.
What they didn't expect was that, when they tried to ignore the voice, it found them on its own!
"Shhh~"
The strange sound grew closer and closer, soon reaching their vicinity. Yue Jiu Nian frowned as she listened to the approaching sound and said, "What the hell? Why do I think I smell a strange stench?"
Upon hearing this, Yue Jiuzai stretched his neck and sniffed the surrounding air, saying, "That's strange, this smell..."
Before Yue Jiuzai could finish speaking, they saw a large group of insect-like things suddenly emerge from a clump of grass a few meters away from them!
Those 'insects' were quite large, about the size of a child's fist. In the darkness, Yue Jiuzai could vaguely see that they looked like a group of large spiders!
A huge swarm of spiders, seemingly fleeing for their lives, moved incredibly fast, scurrying in droves towards the direction Yue Jiu Nian and the others were heading.
"Holy crap! Run! What are these spiders doing? How come there are so many? Are they moving away en masse? Help! Spiders! Man-eating spiders! Run!"
When Yue Jiu Nian saw the spiders coming, she immediately grabbed Yue Jiu Zai and ran. As she ran, she shouted, trying to wake up the group of people not far ahead. After all, these spiders might eat people, and if they did, that group of people might be in trouble.
The heavy rain woke up those inside the tents. They hadn't gone back to sleep yet, so when they heard Yue Jiu Nian's shout, they all ran out to check the situation outside.
Lao Hei and Lao Wu were sleeping in the same tent. As soon as they heard someone shouting for help, they immediately opened the tent and looked outside. They saw two women, soaking wet, running towards them like madwomen!
When Yue Jiu Nian saw someone coming out, she already had a plan in mind: she would bring Yue Jiu Zai and sneak into the group. The group had food and lodging, so she might as well take this opportunity to sneak in. At least she wouldn't be bitten by mosquitoes while sleeping.
"Help! Please help us!"
Yue Jiu Nian pulled Yue Jiu Zai towards Lao Hei's tent, trying to gain their sympathy by acting out his disheveled state and fear!
Yue Jiuzai started crying: "Waaah~ Help~ There are so many spiders, they're so scary!"
