Chapter 423:
"Of course, that's possible."
Upon hearing the giant gray rat's request, Yue Jiuling immediately bestowed upon it some more cultivation, and the giant gray rat transformed into a young man.
The young man had a kind and honest appearance, and you would never guess that he was a gray rat spirit.
"Alright, now that you've turned into human form, it will be much easier for you to lead us to that place."
Ya Zi looked at the big gray rat and said.
This is a reply from someone hidden in the work group. What they mean is that the human children are locked in iron cages, and it is very likely that they were captured by human traffickers. It is also possible that monsters are involved. So they asked Ya Zi and Yue Jiu Ling to go to that place first to check the situation. If possible, they must rescue the children on the spot.
"Tsk, I think they must be organized and have a team. I wonder if the place we went to this time is their headquarters."
Yue Jiuling picked up her new coat and phone, then said to the young gray rat spirit, "Let's go, you take us to see it first."
"Okay, please follow me."
The young gray rat spirit immediately led the two to the place where the human cubs were kept.
"This is the place. I followed the food in because I smelled it, but I never expected to see something like this."
The gray rat spirit led Yue Jiuling and Ya Zi to a dilapidated rented room, and said as they climbed the stairs, "It's almost time for dinner now. We don't know if there will be anyone inside, so we need to be careful."
The gray rat spirit carefully led the people up to the fourth floor, then pointed to a room with an old iron door and said, "This is the room."
When Yue Jiuling arrived at the door of the room, she listened quietly to the sounds inside. After hearing that it was completely quiet, she gave Ya Zi a look.
Ya Zi saw Yue Jiu Ling's eyes and immediately understood what she meant. So he gently reached out and pushed the iron door. The door made a slight sound when it was pushed, but there was still no movement inside. Finally, Ya Zi pushed the iron door again, and it opened with a 'click'.
Seeing that the door was open, the gray rat spirit, who was about to use her wall-penetrating magic to go in and check the situation, said, "Are we just going to go in like this? There shouldn't be anyone else inside."
"Okay, let's go in like this," Ya Zi pushed open the iron gate and went straight into the room.
Upon entering the room, you first see an ordinary wooden table and two wooden chairs. On the table is a rice cooker, and next to it is a half-opened bag of salt.
"Is this where we cook?"
When Yue Jiuling saw the rice cooker, she reached out and opened the lid to see what was inside. She found that there was only an unwashed rice cooker inside, with the remaining rice and dishes mixed together and all hardened!
"There's an iron cage in this room."
After entering the room, the gray rat spirit went straight to the door of a room, pointed to the locked door, and said, "It's locked. It seems that monster hasn't come today."
The room is a one-bedroom, one-living room layout. Upon entering, you enter the living room, and to the right of the living room is a small room, whose wooden door is locked.
"I'll open the door."
When Yue Jiuling saw the lock, she went straight up to it, intending to open it. She grasped the iron lock and gently squeezed it, easily opening it.
"Holy crap, are they raising pigs here?"
The moment the door to the room was opened, Yue Jiuling instantly saw the scene inside. She saw a large iron cage with seven or eight human children locked inside!
Because of the cold weather, the children huddled together, clutching a tattered quilt for warmth. They were filthy, as if they hadn't bathed in months. Inside the iron cage were several small buckets containing the children's food and excrement, and the stench was still noticeable several meters away.
"Tsk tsk, we should call the police. Only the police can handle these kids."
Yue Jiuling covered her nose and approached the iron cage to talk to the children: "Don't be afraid, we're here to save you."
Hearing what Yue Jiuling said, the children seemed dazed, as if they hadn't heard her or didn't understand her meaning. They remained silent and still, quietly watching the people outside from inside the iron cage.
When the gray rat spirit saw them like this, it said to Yue Jiuling, "Comrade, I actually suspect that they may not be able to speak or hear anymore, otherwise, look at them, they look like they've gone mad."
"No way?"
Yue Jiuling was very surprised: "Could it be that being locked up here has made him stupid?"
The gray rat spirit shook its head and said, "I don't know, I just think they're all strange. They can't make noise or talk."
Ya Zi had just finished a call with the police and had come over. He looked at the children's bewildered expressions, then frowned and said, "Were they drugged? It's possible they were drugged, and that's why they're all so quiet."
“Yes, that’s a possibility,” Yue Jiuling quickly realized. “How long will it take for the police to arrive? The person who came to cook hasn’t arrived yet. We can’t let them bump into each other.”
"They said they would arrive in about ten minutes and they also called an ambulance."
