"Hey, big brother, what's going on with you? Aren't you a leopard spirit? How did you turn into this?" Yue Jiuling asked, looking at the strange creature in front of her.
After the witch and the blood demon fled, Yue Jiuling and Ya Zi both collapsed due to the poison in their bodies. Fortunately, the poison only temporarily deprived them of their magic power and did not pose a danger to their lives.
At this moment, Yazi still retained his dragon body and leopard head form. He knew that his current appearance was a bit strange, so he could only say somewhat awkwardly, "Um, well, actually this is my true appearance."
"Your true appearance?" Upon hearing this, Yue Jiuling was even more confused: "Your true appearance is like this? Then what exactly are you, to look like this..."
Ya Zi struggled to his feet and said, "Well, since you've seen it all, I won't hide it anymore. My name is Ya Zi, and I'm the son of Ying Long. You should have heard of Ya Zi, right?"
"Yazi? The Yazi who's known for his vengeful nature?!"
Yue Jiuling had initially wondered if this guy was some kind of mutated monster, but when she heard that he was Yazi, the son of Yinglong, she understood everything. No wonder this guy was so annoying and stingy before; it turned out he was Yazi.
Yue Jiuling also got up and said, "Oh, so you are the famous Ya Zi. I thought the name Long Er was strange before, but now I realize why. But why did you turn into a leopard before? I thought you were a leopard spirit."
"Well, I did it to avoid revealing my identity. After all, my true form is a bit scary, and I have an important mission in the mortal realm: to capture the Blood Demon. So I changed into a different form." After sitting up, Ya Zi felt a little better and transformed back into human form. "By the way, now that you know my identity, you have to keep it a secret for me."
In fact, Ya Zi's identity was not important to Yue Jiuling at all. Now that the two were no longer so competitive, she nodded and said, "Okay, anyway, I will be resigning soon, so your identity is not important to me at all."
Ya Zi had a smile on her face when she said it could be kept secret, but her expression immediately turned sour when she heard that she wanted to resign: "Resign? Why would you want to resign all of a sudden?"
For some reason, Ya Zi, who used to dislike this woman, now felt a pang of reluctance upon hearing that she was resigning. He guessed that they had developed a camaraderie after spending so much time together.
Yue Jiuling said, "Don't you know? You came into our department to replace me."
Ya Zi remembered that when he came to report for duty before, Director Yu had mentioned that someone in the department was leaving, but he never expected that person would be Yue Jiuling.
"Oh, okay, can you tell me why you want to resign?"
Ya Zi wanted to know why Yue Jiuling resigned, because this department was so great that many people wanted to work there. Why would Yue Jiuling leave?
Yue Jiuling glanced at Ya Zi and smiled, "Well, the reason is a secret, I won't tell you." After saying that, Yue Jiuling playfully winked at him, looking like she was saying, "I won't tell you, I'll make you angry."
Ya Zi was surprised by Yue Jiuling's answer. He paused for a moment, then laughed and said, "Alright, since it's a secret, then forget it."
Now that they were feeling much better, they prepared to find the hiding cabbage and leave together.
Yue Jiuling shouted to the surroundings, "Little Cabbage, Little Cabbage, where are you? You can go back now~"
Little Cabbage had been hiding behind a big tree, but when she heard them calling her, she immediately tried to run out. However, when she turned around, she found that she had been targeted by a pheasant spirit!
This pheasant spirit was very large, several times larger than an ordinary pheasant. It had already developed intelligence, but had not yet taken human form, so it still ate grass and the like.
As soon as Little Cabbage turned around, he saw the pheasant spirit with gleaming eyes, about to peck at him. He immediately screamed in fright, "Ah! Help! Sister Jiuling, Brother Long, come save me!"
Yue Jiuling and Ya Zi were searching for Xiao Baicai when they heard his cries for help. Thinking he was in trouble, they immediately ran towards the direction of the sound. Before they even got there, they saw a cabbage hopping and skipping towards them, shouting, "Help! This big pheasant is going to eat me! Help!"
Seeing Xiaobaicai's pitiful state, Yue Jiuling and the other person felt both heartbroken and amused. They were heartbroken because he was so weak that a mere pheasant could easily bully him, and amused because the child was so foolish. Although the pheasant had gained sentience, it had not yet taken human form, so it was still afraid of people. If Xiaobaicai could transform into human form, it could drive the pheasant away, but the foolish child just couldn't think of such a way.
Yue Jiuling ran over to rescue Xiaobaicai with a smile: "Oh my god, hahaha, why are you so silly? Why don't you just turn into human form? With its level of cultivation, it's still afraid of people."
Ya Zi found it funny too: "Hurry up and transform! It's just a midnight snack, why are you afraid of it?"
After Ya Zi finished speaking, he rushed over and grabbed the pheasant spirit. Monsters like this, who had only recently gained sentience, were the most delicious. Carnivorous monsters loved to catch and eat such monsters, so Ya Zi's midnight snack was sorted out for tonight.
After the pheasant was captured, Little Cabbage transformed back into human form. He had been jumping around so frightened that he was covered in cold sweat, his face was pale, his straw hat had fallen off, his hair was a mess, and the only small cabbage leaf on his head was crooked. He only breathed a sigh of relief when he saw the pheasant being caught by Yazi: "Oh dear, I was so scared. They were always trying to eat me. It was so terrifying."
