There was no one in the temple now, but it was still quite well-lit inside because the temple lights were kept on at night.
After entering the hall, Yue Jiuling looked at the huge statue in the hall and said, "Hmm, I remember there is a saying in the human world that it is best not to go to temples at night, because it is said to be bad luck. But we are not human, so we don't have this concern."
"Tch~ That's what they say, it has nothing to do with us. Why do you care what they say? But why is there nothing in this temple?"
Although there were quite a few statues of gods inside the temple, Ya Zi could tell at a glance that there were no deities possessing them. He took a few steps forward, picked up two apples from the altar, ate one for himself, and gave the other to Yue Jiuling, saying, "Strange, how come there isn't a single deity here? This temple is really terrible."

As soon as the old man came in and saw Ya Zi, he immediately greeted him with a smile.
"Hey~ Are you the local earth god?"
As soon as Ya Zi saw the little old man, he knew that he was the local earth god. He pointed curiously at the statues in the temple and said, "Earth God, where are the others? Why are you the only god left in the whole temple?"
"Oh, you mean them?" The Earth God chuckled when he heard Ya Zi asking about the other gods. "Second Young Master, you mean this? Actually, not many gods in this temple are willing to come down. Usually, it's just the Little God and his old wife guarding this place. Very few other gods come down."
Upon hearing this, Yue Jiuling interjected, "Oh, I see. But I also noticed some spiritual energy on those statues."
"Yes, there were a few people who were willing to come down before, but later it got too noisy here, so they gradually stopped liking to come down. And now, it's just the two of us left."
The Earth God didn't recognize Yue Jiuling, but seeing that she wasn't an ordinary person, and considering she had come with Ya Zi, he was willing to answer her question.
Just as the Earth God finished explaining to Yue Jiuling, and Yue Jiuling wanted to ask a few more questions, she suddenly heard an old woman's voice coming from the doorway: "Old man, which immortal has arrived? Who are you talking to?"

Not long after, an old woman with a cane and a small yellow animal in her arms walked into the temple. This old woman was the Earth Goddess.
After entering, the Earth Goddess respectfully bowed to Ya Zi: "Second Young Master Long~"
There's no way around it. Although it might seem a bit against the rules to have an old woman bow to Yazi, Yazi's rank is higher than that of the Earth God. And although the Earth God looks very old, they are actually not that old, maybe only a few hundred or a thousand years old. So Yazi can accept this bow.
Seeing that the Earth Goddess and Earth Grandfather had come out to greet him, Ya Zi waved his hand and said, "Alright, I just came here to have some fun. You can go do whatever you want now."
"Alright, then I'll take my leave. Please feel free to give us any instructions."
The old couple, the local earth gods, quickly withdrew. Ya Zi, biting into an apple, said somewhat boredly, "This temple is really awful. There are only two earth gods left; it's no fun."
Yue Jiuling circled around several statues of deities before finally sitting down in front of one. She reached for offerings on the altar and ate them, saying, "That's normal. People in the human realm don't really believe in gods and ghosts anymore; many are atheists. But thankfully, the other five realms can still maintain their beliefs even without the human realm's influence, otherwise it would be troublesome."
"That's for sure. What does the belief of the human realm have to do with the other five realms? We're all doing our own thing now. Although there are connections, their beliefs have nothing to do with us. The way of Heaven is natural. Everyone's existence is permitted by the way of Heaven. No one can interfere with it on their own."
When Ya Zi first arrived in the human world, he learned that many people there were atheists who believed in scientific research and not in ghosts or spirits. Actually, scientific knowledge is also a very important basis for understanding, after all, it's a major factor in human progress. However, there are some things about gods and ghosts that science still cannot explain.
"Okay, just eat a few, don't let anyone see you later~"
As Yue Jiuling was about to leave after eating two apples, she saw that Ya Zi had taken all the fruit off the offering table. Seeing this, Yue Jiuling was both amused and exasperated. She quickly stopped Ya Zi, telling him to put the fruit back, saying, "That's enough, that's going too far!"
