Chapter 204 The Little Gecko

"What terrible thing is it? Tell me about it."

After seeing the little gecko come out, Mu Xiaoyi put the talisman away. After all, Bai Xinyu could handle ten of these little monsters by herself, so she didn't need the talisman at all. However, she was a little interested in what the little gecko had said.

The little gecko continued, "It really was terrifying! My brother and I were looking for something to eat across the street when we saw some humans being captured by a horrible monster. The monster was very tall and ugly; we were almost scared to death!"

When the story was brought up, the two little geckos looked very frightened; they were probably genuinely terrified.

"What?! You're saying monsters have kidnapped humans? Where is it? Take us there now!"

Upon hearing this, Bai Xinyu immediately panicked. Damn it, they were on duty right now, could something really have happened?

Mu Xiaoyi also felt a little uneasy and quickly said, "Come on, which street is it? Take us to see it."

The little geckos quickly led them to the entrance of a small alley. They said they liked to find food here, and that there used to be a few humans living here, but now the monsters had been captured.

Mu Xiaoyi frowned as she looked at the tattered clothes, bowls and chopsticks left in the alley. She took out a talisman and tossed it casually. The talisman flew out of her hand and began to burn spontaneously. At first, the fire was yellow, but later it turned grayish-blue.

Mu Xiaoyi looked at Bai Xinyu and said, "They weren't lying. There should have been people here an hour ago, but they're not here now, and there's still some demonic energy left at the scene."

Bai Xinyu's expression changed when she saw the talisman spontaneously combust. She said, "Is it really that unlucky? Something happened during the festival the year before last, and now it's happening again this year."

Mu Xiaoyi knew that Bai Xinyu was worried that something serious might happen, so she took out her phone and said, "Let's not worry about whether something serious is happening or not. Let's send the message to the group first and see if there are any problems on their end."

When Ye Dongfeng and Yinni learned of this news, they were playing cards and mahjong with several ghost aunties and uncles. After playing the game for several hours, they found that their phone battery was running low, so they joined the entertainment activities of those elderly ghosts.

Actually, most of these elderly ghosts died peacefully, so there was no problem playing with them. However, after learning this news, Ye Dongfeng still gave the cards in his hand to the old ghost lady next to him who had been giving him advice, and then picked up his phone to reply to messages.

As he typed, he called out to Hidden: "Hidden, it seems like Xinyu and the others are having some trouble. Should we go over there?"

Hidden had just won a round of mahjong and was about to play another when he heard Ye Dongfeng's words. He withdrew his hand from the mahjong table, gave his seat to the old man next to him, and mumbled while smoking a half-smoked cigarette, "What is it? Let me see."

He then turned on his phone and saw the message: "Hmm? What's going on? Is some monster causing trouble?"

Ye Dongfeng, hands in his pockets and a little annoyed, said, "Who knows? Something happened during the holidays the year before last, and I don't want anything to happen again this year. Let's go, let's go see what's going on."

When Yue Jiuling received the message, she was sitting in front of a convenience store eating ice cream, while Ya Zi next to her was eating instant noodles. The two of them were true foodies, and they would go out to find something to eat almost every time they came out to work overtime.

Upon seeing the message, Yue Jiuling immediately stood up and pulled Ya Zi, saying, "Ya Zi, let's go. Xin Yu said something happened over there. Let's go see what's going on. Oh, let's eat as we walk."

Ya Zi didn't see the message at all, but seeing how serious Yue Jiuling was, he grabbed his instant noodles and followed Yue Jiuling without saying a word.

However, he hadn't gone far when he hurriedly ran back with his instant noodles in hand, bringing his phone, which he had almost forgotten.

As he left, he was still shouting, "Oh my god, I almost forgot I didn't take my phone!"
