Chapter 404 Copying the Exam Paper

"Huh? Lily, what's wrong? What are you yelling about? Just say what you want to say, what do you mean by this?"

After Mu Xiaoyi came out of the bathroom, she saw Lily touching her throat with a look of horror on her face.

When Lily saw Mu Xiaoyi come out, she quickly asked her for help. However, she wanted to tell Mu Xiaoyi that she couldn't speak, but no matter how she opened and closed her mouth, she could only point to her throat and make some useless "ah ah ah" sounds. She couldn't explain her situation at all.

Mu Xiaoyi pretended not to understand what Lily meant by her actions. She heard Lily make a few "ah" sounds, then frowned and said in confusion, "Lily, what are you doing? Is your throat sore? If it is, go see a doctor. I'm so sleepy, I'm not talking to you anymore, I need to sleep~"

Upon hearing Mu Xiaoyi's words, the flustered Lily suddenly came to her senses. She seemed to realize that her sudden inability to speak meant she should indeed see a doctor, and that seeking help from Mu Xiaoyi would be useless.

So after Mu Xiaoyi finished speaking, she turned around and saw that Lily had already run out of the dormitory. Judging from her anxious appearance, she was probably going to find the school doctor.

"Hehe, there are still more than half a month left, so you can stay silent for a while. That way, I can go back to 'working' properly."

After seeing Mu Xiaoyi say in the group that she played a special game at school, Yue Jiuling, Bai Xinyu and the others were not too surprised. After all, they all knew each other well and knew that they were all "cute kids" who were actually quite cunning. So they just treated it as watching a show.

After watching the performance, Bai Xinyu commented below: "Ah, what a pity. I'm not interested in games like that. Hidden and I prefer things like whack-a-mole."

When Yue Jiuling saw this reply, she understood what she meant by "whack-a-mole." She sent an "I get it" emoji, followed by a voice message: "Sigh, suddenly I still think we're the best. Although high school is stressful, at least there's no backstabbing or infighting~"

Hearing Yue Jiuling's voice message, Ya Zi typed a reply below: "Of course, it would be even better if I hadn't been punished by copying the test paper."

Because they scored last and second-to-last in the class on the English test, their homeroom teacher punished them by making them copy the test paper.

Fortunately, the homeroom teacher only punished them in passing, making Yue Jiuling and Ya Zi copy the text once, since they weren't really students. However, if they weren't punished, other students might have different ideas, perhaps thinking that the homeroom teacher didn't care about grades at all, and then they would become lazy.

Even copying this English test paper just once was proving extremely difficult for Ya Zi. This mischievous demon, Ya Zi, had never properly attended school. Although he was a literate demon with limited education, copying this incomprehensible English test paper was still a real challenge for him.

"Hey, Jiuling, are you done copying? I haven't finished yet, can you help me?"

Ya Zi turned to look at her deskmate and asked pitifully.

Yue Jiuling had only just finished copying the exam paper; she had started copying earlier than Ya Zi. While Ya Zi was still playing online games with Yin Ni, she had already begun writing.

That's right, it was handwritten. Since they were all in the classroom at the time, they couldn't use magic to cheat. Moreover, the homeroom teacher had instructed that he needed to get the test paper before the third period. So Yue Jiuling diligently copied the test paper for one and a half periods, and finally finished copying it.

When Yue Jiuling heard Ya Zi's request, she was shaking her hand, which was sore from writing. She glanced at Ya Zi and said, "You just want to copy it? I just finished copying it. I'm not helping you copy it. Copy it yourself!"

Ya Zi was heartbroken when he heard Yue Jiuling's rejection. He pretended to be pitiful and pleaded with the eyes of a small animal, "Yue Ling, aren't we best friends? Why are you treating me like this? Don't you love me anymore? So love can disappear, right?"

Hearing Ya Zi's words, Yue Jiuling rolled her eyes and said, "Yes, I don't love you, so hurry up and copy it. There's about one class left. If you don't finish copying it, you won't be able to hand it in to the teacher."

Hearing his 'beloved' deskmate speak to him like that, Long Jiu could only grit his teeth and quickly copy the test paper. While copying, he complained bitterly, "Ugh, being a person is hard, being a student is even harder! I don't want to go to school at all!"

Yue Jiuling secretly played on her phone nearby. She overheard Ya Zi's complaints and whispered, "Heh, you're right, being a person is indeed difficult, but you, young master, aren't human either~"

"Hmph, isn't the life I'm experiencing now exactly the life of a human? I'm practically half a human now, aren't I?"

Ya Zi grumbled and analyzed with Yue Jiuling in a serious tone: "Look, we are now in the human realm, employed by the human realm, and we are learning to live like humans. We have to do things, eat, and sleep like humans. Isn't that making us half a human?"

"Hmm, now that you mention it, there's actually a point to it."

After listening to Ya Zi's analysis, Yue Jiuling even had the illusion that she was already half-human. She propped her cheek up with one hand and looked at Ya Zi, saying, "Okay, I agree with what you said, but I still don't want to help you copy the exam paper, so you should just give up."
