There were three trees in the Jiang family's courtyard: two peach trees and one pomegranate tree, all of which bore fruit that could be eaten. The tree with the snake was the pomegranate tree.
The small, bluish-green snake, no bigger than a thumb, hung motionless on a tree branch, as if dozing off. No one knew where it had come from, making it the only 'fierce beast' in the courtyard.
Yue Jiu Nian tiptoed to the base of the pomegranate tree and then quietly made her move on the unlucky little snake!
"Hehe! Got you~"
Before the little green snake could be awakened, Yue Jiu grabbed its head and pulled it down from the tree.
She smiled as she watched the struggling snake in her hand and walked into the house, saying, "Nine Calamities, Nine Calamities, come and see! Look what I caught!"
Yue Jiuzai happened to be coming downstairs. She was carrying her pajamas downstairs to put them in the washing machine when she heard Yue Jiu's loud chatter and turned around to look: "What did you catch this time?"
"Hey, Xiaoqing? Xiaoqing, is that you? What happened to you?"
Upon seeing the small snake in Yue Jiu Nian's hand, Yue Jiu Zai immediately put on a sorrowful expression, saying sadly, "Ah~ poor little Qing~"
"Hahaha~ Aren't you exaggerating a bit too much?"
Seeing Yue Jiuzai's dramatic antics, Yue Jiunian smiled and said, "Want some? It's a little small, but it's still a wild game dish."
Yue Jiuzai was still acting out a 'tragic drama,' but as soon as she heard that she had to eat the snake, she immediately stopped acting, shook her head, and gave a very reluctant look, saying, "No, you want to eat me when I'm so small, isn't that too cruel? I'm still a baby~"
"But isn't it only delicious for babies? This meat must be very tender~"
Yue Jiu Nian was still drooling over the little green snake, it seemed she wanted to stew it right away.

Seeing Yue Jiu Nian still scaring the little green snake, Yue Jiu Zai said speechlessly, "I'm telling you, you're so old, why are you still bullying a baby?"
Upon hearing this, Yue Jiu Nian turned around and said unhappily, "What? I'm still young, okay? I'm not old enough to be called that."
"Tch, look at all those cats on the street. Does any of them not respectfully call you 'Grandpa' when they see you?"
Yue Jiuzai recalled an old cat she had met before. The old cat was so frightened by her appearance that it trembled and greeted her respectfully.
She continued, "However, I've noticed that there are very few cat demons in the human world. I don't know why, because I clearly remember there used to be a lot of cat demons."
Yue Jiu Nian had already gone to the kitchen to prepare the ingredients. She said, "This is normal. Because the spiritual power in the human world is scarce now, it is very difficult for native cats to become spirits. The clever old cats from the past have long since gone to the demon world. Of course, some still stay and live here in the human world, but you rarely see them."

Yue Jiuzai watched as Yue Jiunian took a piece of beef out of the refrigerator and asked, "Are you going to cook beef? What kind of dish are you planning to make?"
Yue Jiu first thawed the beef, then sliced it. As she sliced the beef, she said, "I'm planning to make boiled beef. It's simple, with meat and vegetables. Does that suit your taste?"
Upon hearing this, Yue Jiuzai immediately said, "That's fine, but I'd like to add more meat and less vegetables. Oh, and remember to add chili peppers; that'll make it taste better!"
"Okay, I understand. You can leave now and don't bother me."
Yue Jiu Nian kicked out Yue Jiu Zai, who was talkative and demanding, to prevent her from interfering with her cooking.
Yue Jiuzai, who was kicked out of the kitchen, didn't have any objections. She was just thinking that she would have food to eat later, and didn't care whether she was disliked or not.
"Okay, I'm going to watch TV now. Call me if you need anything!"
"Alright, I got it, now get lost~"
Yue Jiuzai returned to the living room and started watching TV, but she had only watched for a few minutes when she heard the doorbell ring.
"Ding-dong~"
Because the Jiang family's gate was located far from the main house, there used to be a gatekeeper there. However, due to recent special circumstances, the gate was no longer being guarded, and the doorbell was directly connected to the main house.
