Chapter 163 The Passage

After Lao Hei reached the back wall, he called Lao Wu and Uncle Zhao over, and then they all went to push a spot in the lower right corner of the wall.

The cave wall at the bottom was originally blocked, seemingly sealing the cave off. However, unexpectedly, with Lao Hei and the others pushing, a gap was pushed open in the lower right corner of the wall, a small gap just big enough for an adult to pass through!

When the gap was opened, Yue Jiu Nian finally understood that the cave was indeed a passage, and that the bottom of the cave was not naturally sealed off, but rather sealed off by human hands.

After Uncle Zhao and the others opened the cave entrance, they said to the people behind them, "Quick, let's go in quickly, or we'll be in trouble."

After Uncle Zhao finished speaking, he took the lead and walked out of the cave. Following behind him was Lao Hei. As Lao Hei walked out, he said to Yue Jiu Nian and Yue Jiu Zai, who were watching in astonishment, "You guys come in quickly, don't even think about running away."

After Lao Hei went in, Yue Jiu Nian and the other two were pushed in by a fat man. Then Jiang Yan was also led in by Lao Wu. After they were all inside, the last person to leave hung a white cloth at the entrance of the hole, as if making a mark there.

Yue Jiu Nian originally thought that once they left the cave, they would arrive at the cemetery, but unexpectedly, they found themselves in a forest.

This forest is similar to the woods outside, except there is no lake. It's all trees, nothing but trees.

The towering trees blocked out all the sunlight, making the forest appear very dark and gloomy.

Upon seeing this environment, Yue Jiu Nian frowned. The place looked very gloomy, with no sunlight at all. Although the trees were lush, the ground was covered in wet mud, and there were some decaying plants nearby. She also smelled an unpleasant odor, like that of a stinking ditch, which made her suspect that there might be a swamp nearby.

The feng shui here doesn't look very good. Of course, if there were cemeteries here, the feng shui might have been very good before, but after so many years, the place has undergone some geographical changes, so it has become less favorable.

Burying a person in a place with good feng shui can bring blessings to future generations if done correctly. However, if the feng shui is bad, it may breed some bad things.

So when Yue Jiu Nian entered this place, she felt something was wrong. She suspected that there might be something bad waiting for them here.

Just like Yue Jiu Nian, Yue Jiu Zai felt uneasy as soon as she entered the place. However, she didn't say anything and instead pulled Yue Jiu Nian to obediently follow Lao Hei and the others.

This place is clearly deserted, overgrown with weeds and lacking even a mountain path. Before entering the cave, the mountains outside must have been frequented by people, with at least some winding paths. But here, there are no paths at all; if you want one, you'll have to make your own way through the mountains step by step.

Old Hei didn't seem to have been here for a long time either, but he still remembered the way. He led Old Wu and the others directly to the left. After walking for a while, he put Yue Jiu Nian and Jiang Yan together and walked around them.

Old Hei probably thought that once they got here, they wouldn't dare to run away, so he put them all together for guard.

Jiang Yan finally had a chance to talk to Yue Jiu Nian and the others, but it was too late to say anything now. However, he still said to Yue Jiu Nian and the others, "Don't worry, as long as we behave, they shouldn't hurt us."

Yue Jiunian pretended that she finally had a chance to speak, because Lao Wu had previously told her not to speak because they were too noisy. But now that she saw Jiang Yan speaking, Yue Jiunian dared to speak up.

She said, "You, were you arrested like this too? Do you know why they arrested us?"

"Sigh~ I don't know, I was forced to come along just like you guys."

Jiang Yan didn't mention that he had been poisoned with Gu worms, because it would be useless to say so. He had already guessed that he might not make it home alive this time. However, he remained obedient throughout the journey because he wanted to know what those people wanted to do with him and what use he was to them.
