The only difference is that large magical beasts are kept at the entrances of the shops. For example, there is a magical beast that looks like a tiger at the entrance of this teahouse.
Seeing this, Yue Jiuli was very confused. Why would every household keep a magical beast in front of their shop? Aren't they afraid of driving away customers and losing business?
Because she was currently pretending to be a little demon, Yue Jiuli didn't ask the shopkeeper for the reason.
Looking at the bustling street, Yue Jiuli picked up a mirror to check her current appearance. She had already disguised herself, transforming from an ordinary human into a cool girl with purple hair, red eyes, and black clothes. There were many demons in the demon realm dressed like this, so Yue Jiuli wasn't afraid of being easily discovered.
After drinking a pot of tea and eating a plate of snacks, Yue Jiuli was about to leave when she suddenly saw a group of blond-haired demons leading a huge magical beast onto the street. When the pedestrians saw them, they all gave way, and some even showed expressions of fear.
Upon seeing those blond-haired demons, Yue Jiuli thought to herself: Could they be some kind of bullies? Otherwise, why would so many people be afraid of them?
Just as Yue Jiuli was thinking about this, she suddenly heard the diners next to her discussing it.
A green-haired, purple-eyed woman standing nearby looked at the group of blond-haired men below with displeasure and said, "Oh dear, why are they here again?"
"Yeah, it's so annoying. They're always causing trouble everywhere, and the city lord doesn't do anything about it. Ugh~" A black-haired, black-eyed boy chimed in. He seemed to be one of the people in the teahouse. The boy said impatiently, "Ugh, so annoying~"
Just as Yue Jiuli was wondering what they were talking about and was about to ask around, one of the blond-haired guys downstairs suddenly pointed at their teahouse and said, "Hey, this is it! Last time, my big blond guy couldn't beat them, but this time he's going to win!"
After the blond-haired man finished speaking, he loosened his grip on the rope, allowing the giant monster to walk to the entrance of the teahouse. He then launched a challenging attack on the monster standing at the teahouse entrance.
"Oh, here we go again, the city lord's young master is challenging Boss Chai again~"
A pedestrian downstairs saw this and immediately shouted, and then others gathered at the entrance of the teahouse to watch, and they also discussed it briefly:
"Wow, this monster seems even stronger than the last one. Will Boss Chai's be defeated?"
"I don't know, it's hard to say. But Boss Chai's magical beasts are really powerful. They've been around for so many years and haven't lost to anyone who has challenged them. Their magical beasts are truly amazing."
"Yes, yes, I've heard that it's not just the city lord's son who has come to challenge, but many other demons have also come to challenge, but none of them have been able to win. Boss Chai's demon beasts are really powerful."
"That's right, I've heard about it too. But the magical beast the city lord brought this time doesn't seem to be an ordinary one. Look at those tusks, they're anything but simple!"
Listening to everyone's chatter and the two magical beasts about to fight at the door, Yue Jiuli understood some of the questions before she even asked them.
Based on her guess, Yue Jiuli assumed that the battle between the two magical beasts was probably a challenge between local people, and that each household kept a magical beast to deal with challenges from others.
However, Yue Jiuli didn't guess the rules for whether the challenge would fail or succeed. But she didn't need to guess; she could just keep watching and she would roughly know the outcome of the challenge.
According to the crowd watching the show, the group of blond-haired demons seemed to be from the city lord's family, so Yue Jiuli naturally took a few more glances at them.
All that could be seen was that the monster with huge fangs stared at the tiger-like monster at the entrance of the teahouse for a while before it began to attack the other. Inside the teahouse, the waiters, who had seen that someone else had come to challenge them, had already unlocked the tiger's chains, letting them fight and tear each other apart.
"Bite it! Bite it! Anyone want to place a bet? I'm still the wood-pressing boss!"
"Yes, I'm betting on Boss Chai too! Boss Chai will definitely win!"
