Chapter 369:
The third internet cafe was actually an illegal one. It wasn't as big as the previous two, and the environment was terrible.
When Ya Zi arrived at the smoky internet cafe, he found that there were quite a few people inside. He still took Zhu Botuan's photo and his work ID to find the owner.
"Excuse me, have you seen this person before?"
The boss sitting at the front desk saw Ya Zi take out his 'police ID' and immediately stood up and said, "Ah~ Hello, police officer, is there anything I can help you with?"
The boss took the photo from Ya Zi, then frowned and thought for a moment before saying, "This person... I don't seem to remember him at all."
"Are you the only one here? Do you have any other employees? Let them come and take a look too."
Ya Zi said to the boss, "Think about it carefully again?"
This internet cafe is too small. Usually, besides the owner, there are only two internet cafe managers here. The owner went and called the two internet cafe managers over to have them identify the photos together.
A network administrator walked over with a cigarette in his mouth, looked at the photo, and said, "Who is this person? I don't recognize him at all."
Another network administrator shook his head and said, "I haven't seen this person either, officer. There are too many people here, coming and going every day. Even if you really saw him, you might not remember him."
While they were looking at the photos, Ya Zi observed their expressions and, finding that they weren't lying, nodded and said, "Okay, I understand, thanks for cooperating~"
Having found no clues at the third internet cafe, Ya Zi finally had no choice but to leave and go find the people hiding there.
Just as he was about to leave the internet cafe, he almost bumped into a primary school student carrying a backpack. The student had run very fast when he entered the internet cafe and didn't notice if there was anyone in front of him. Ya Zi was also walking out of the door and didn't expect anyone to run in, so the photo in his hand was accidentally knocked to the ground.
Oh dear~
"Hey, be careful!"
Ya Zi caught the elementary school student who almost bumped into him, and said, "What the hell? Why were you running so fast?"
The elementary school student, after being helped up by Ya Zi, smiled sheepishly and said, "Sorry, uncle~"
"Never mind, it's nothing."
Ya Zi straightened the elementary school student and then bent down to pick up his fallen photo. But just as he picked it up, the student looked at the photo in his hand and said, "Hey, uncle, do you know this brother too?"
"Brother, do you know him?"
Ya Zi was about to leave with the photo, but after hearing what the elementary school student said, he immediately stopped. He showed the student Zhu Botuan's photo and said, "Do you know him? Take a closer look."
"Yes, we even played games together. Uncle, do you know him too?"
Upon hearing the elementary school student's words, Ya Zi immediately felt that he might have found some clues this time, so he continued to ask, "Yes, I know him too. When did you meet him? How many times did you play games with him? Do you remember when you last saw him?"
"The last time... let me think, it must have been last Friday night, right?" The elementary school student recalled while holding Zhu Botuan's photo. "It was around seven or eight o'clock, and we were all on holiday. I actually only played games with him once. That night, I was playing games on the computer in this internet cafe, but my classmate logged off while playing, which made me really angry! Then this older boy came in and sat next to me. He saw that I was alone and asked me if I wanted to team up with him, so we teamed up and played together."
"So, besides this older brother, did you see anyone else that night? Did this older brother have any other friends he was playing with, or come here?"
Ya Zi continued to press for answers.
"Hmm, I think there isn't any more. My brother came with his own backpack, but he was playing games and really enjoyed chatting with the uncle next to him."
The elementary school student continued to recall: "They talked a lot!"
Ya Zi noticed that the elementary school student kept glancing at the computers while chatting with him, so he knew the student wanted to play games. He took out his wallet, pulled out a hundred-yuan bill, and gave it to the student, saying, "Here, uncle will give you money. Think carefully about what that older brother and that uncle were talking about."
The elementary school student saw that Ya Zi had given him money, so he stopped looking at the computer. He happily said, "Thank you, Uncle. Actually, I don't quite remember what my brother and the uncle talked about, but I remember they seemed to be talking about ghosts and gods or something. After we finished the game, my brother and that uncle left together. I don't know where they went~"
Having heard this, Ya Zi could roughly guess what Zhu Botuan had talked about with that person that night. He said to the elementary school student, "Okay, thank you, little classmate. You can go play now."
"Okay, thank you, Uncle!"
The elementary school student excitedly took the money and went to the internet cafe owner to open a card. Ya Zi also wanted to go to the owner to show him the surveillance footage. Although the internet cafe was not very legitimate, it still had surveillance cameras.
Upon seeing Ya Zi return, the shop owner approached him amicably and asked, "Officer, is there anything else?"
Ya Zi looked at the boss and said, "I want to see your surveillance footage. It was from last Friday night, around 7 or 8 pm."
