Chapter 299 Epiphyllum Meeting

The temperature in the cold storage is still dropping.

Phoenix leaned against a pile of frozen meat, panting heavily.

Her eyelashes were covered in frost, the soft sword trembled incessantly in her hand, and there were two bloody knife wounds, one on her left shoulder and the other on her lower right abdomen.

The Blue Enchantress's poisonous mist condensed into tiny ice crystals, shimmering with an eerie light in the air.

She could feel a tearing pain in her lungs, and every breath felt like swallowing razor blades.

"Beep beep beep... beep beep beep..."

The timer above was getting increasingly urgent, supported by a pillar.

Phoenix knew that time was running out for her.

Temperature plummeted, poisonous fumes enveloped him, knife wounds worsened, a time bomb detonated, and the cold storage door was sealed shut...

Her current situation is a desperate predicament.

Unless, of course, the omnipotent leader in my mind can suddenly appear out of nowhere.

But will he come?

Time passed second by second.

The phoenix closed its eyes in despair...

Just then, a loud bang came from the cold storage door.

"Phoenix! Hold on!"

It was Zhang Ziqiang's voice.

The phoenix wanted to respond, but couldn't make a sound.

Her vision began to blur, and she could only see sparks flying from the doorway as an electric cutting machine tried to break through the thick steel door.

"boom!"

With a loud crash, the gate was finally breached.

Zhang Ziqiang was the first to rush in.

Wearing a mask and a white winter coat, he held a red fire extinguisher and sprayed it vigorously into the spreading toxic fumes.

However, the ice crystals of the Blue Enchantress were too small for the fire extinguishing agent to completely eliminate.

"Quick! Save them!"

Zhang Ziqiang shouted, and the elite members of the Dragon Gang behind him filed in.

Once inside, they quickly discovered that the temperature in the cold storage was alarmingly low.

Winter clothing is simply no match for this extreme cold.

"You all step back!" Zhang Ziqiang gritted his teeth and said, "I'll handle this!"

He dropped the fire extinguisher and dashed into the toxic fog.

Phoenix wanted to stop him, but could only watch helplessly as he ran towards her.

With each step he took, a thin layer of ice would form on Zhang Ziqiang's skin.

The bone-chilling cold almost froze the flow of his blood.

After walking a dozen or so steps, the swaying figure finally came into view.

"Phoenix, hold on..."

Without thinking twice, Zhang Ziqiang picked up Phoenix and a few drops of Blue Enchantress ice crystals touched his skin and immediately seeped into his blood vessels.

The intense pain nearly made him collapse to his knees, but he dared not let go.

He could only try to hold his breath to reduce the chance of inhaling the toxic fumes into his lungs.

"Zhang...Ziqiang?" Phoenix asked weakly, "How come it's you..."

"Don't speak." Zhang Ziqiang pulled off his mask and covered Phoenix's mouth and nose. "I'll take you out."

Just then, the timer inside the load-bearing column sounded its final chime:

"drop!"

"boom!"

The massive shockwave from the explosion sent the two flying.

Zhang Ziqiang shielded Phoenix with his body, crashing heavily into the wall several meters away. He felt several of his ribs break.

"Quickly! Retreat!"

At this moment, Ye Zhihuan led several leaders of the Dragon Gang in, grabbed the two men, and ran them out.

The cold storage behind them collapsed in a series of even more violent explosions.

The liquid nitrogen pipe on the roof ruptured completely, and a jet of frigid white mist gushed out like a fountain...

Outside the cold storage gate.

In his hazy state, Zhang Ziqiang felt someone holding his hand; it was the semi-conscious Phoenix.

Her hands were cold, but the warmth emanating from somewhere in her palm made him feel a warmth he had never experienced before.

A warmth I've never felt in my more than twenty years of wandering the world.

Victoria Harbour, Pier 3.

Blackman, now dressed in a black tracksuit, boarded a speedboat.

The explosion hundreds of meters behind her did not make her stop for a moment.

Because she knew it was the explosion of a C4 miniature bomb in the cold storage.

Blackman's lips curled into a smile:

Phoenix, our arch-nemesis, is finally dead.

Ten years ago, the two joined the Good Friends Assassin Organization at almost the same time, but most of the time, Phoenix suppressed her with her superior skills and leadership.

Now that she has killed this traitor for the organization, even though the Asura Group has been destroyed, at least she has salvaged some dignity for her good friend.

Unfortunately, she was still unaware of the fate of her greatest enemy, Lin Dong.

Logically speaking, Lin Dong should have died within an hour after being poisoned by the Blood Princess.

Blackman knew all too well the power of this new type of nanotoxin. If being touched by her Blue Rose could still be saved, then the Blood Rose was the most incurable modern Tang Clan poison weapon.

Blackman untied the speedboat's rigging, started the engine, and headed towards the dark estuary.

The cool sea breeze after the rain made her long hair flutter loudly.

After a while, she said in a tone only she could hear, "Lin Dong? Heh!"

"Hmm, you were looking for me?"

A cold male voice drifted from behind her.

Blackman felt a chill run down his spine and turned around abruptly.

Behind me, besides the sea breeze and the darkness, who was there?

"Who?!" she exclaimed, thinking it was a hallucination.

But Lin Dong's voice is too easy to recognize.

"You think you can escape just by changing your clothes?" Lin Dong's voice came again from the darkness of the speedboat.
