Chapter 283 Who is the Peacock?

Old Warehouse No. 76, west side of Tung Wan Ferry Pier, Hong Kong Island.

Twelve weary men, in pairs, were scattered throughout the warehouse and at various tactical points.

At the southernmost end of the warehouse, piles of rusty scrap iron were stacked up.

Passing through the pile of scrap metal, you'll find a small, brightly lit room.

The dim lighting made the spiderwebs in the corner appear somewhat blurry.

Soft groans of pain could be heard intermittently from inside the room...

"Phoenix, stop trying to hold on. No one can save you here... You'll be even more desperate when our boss arrives."

In the dimly lit room, Fengzi's voice was cold and elusive.

Beside the gray wall, there was a worn-out wooden chair, where a cold and beautiful woman of about thirty-five or thirty-six years old was sitting.

The woman's hands and feet were tied behind her back, but she still maintained a dignified sitting posture. Even though she looked a bit disheveled, it did not affect her aloof temperament.

Feng Zi glanced sideways at the stylish and beautiful woman, a slight smile playing on his lips, and couldn't help but mutter to himself:

"Damn it, even in this state, she's still so vain!"

"But this girl is pretty tough. Several injections didn't work. Sigh..."

The aloof woman raised her chin, glanced at Fengzi with disdain, and then closed her eyes to rest without saying a word.

Damn it, do you think I'm invisible?

That's outrageous!

When the boss gets here, we'll see how he deals with you.

Fengzi glanced at his watch; it was already 9:45 a.m.

Three hours had passed since he called Boss Lin.

Logically, Lin Dong should have arrived by now...

.............................................

"Tap tap tap, tap tap tap..."

Suddenly, there was a knock on the door.

"who?"

Feng Zi's expression hardened, and a dark brown "Storm" silenced pistol appeared in his hand.

Although this gun has an unremarkable appearance, it excels in its high rate of fire and is fired with silent gunpowder, giving its bullets armor-piercing capabilities.

"Fengzi, it's me!"

"Boss?" Fengzi exclaimed in surprise and quickly opened the door to the room.

The wooden door opened, and Lin Dong's handsome face appeared before Feng Zi.

"Boss, you're finally here? I thought... something must have gotten in the way and you were delayed."

Lin Dong stepped into the house and casually replied, "You guessed right, we did run into some trouble on the way."

"Really? Is it serious?" Fengzi was startled and unconsciously asked.

"It's not a big deal. We had someone following us when we came, so we deliberately led them in circles."

Feng Zi breathed a sigh of relief: "I was overthinking it. Anyone who could track our boss is probably not even born yet, hehe..."

Lin Dong smiled slightly but did not reply. Instead, he looked at the woman by the wall.

At this moment, the woman opened her slightly closed eyes.

Their eyes met suddenly in the air.

The aloof woman's upright body trembled almost imperceptibly, clearly stunned by Lin Dong's gaze.

"Phoenix?" Lin Dong lifted his foot and slowly walked closer to the woman, finally stopping a meter away from her.

"You are... Lin Dong?"

Phoenix raised her head and looked up at the young man who gave her no reason to resist.

“Indeed, Miss Phoenix, you must have had a long journey.” Lin Dong chuckled and put his hands behind his back.

"Lin Dong, you don't think that by kidnapping me to Hong Kong Island, I'll tell you all my secrets, do you?"

A hint of disdainful mockery appeared on Phoenix's face:

"Your Dragon Gang's methods are useless against me. Just kill me and stop wasting time."

"Really?" Lin Dong smiled. "Miss Phoenix, would you mind if I asked you a question?"

"Ask away." Phoenix glanced at Lin Dong, then closed her eyes again.

"Do you think that if Peacock knew we had captured you and brought you here, she would send someone to rescue you?"

Phoenix was shocked, her eyes snapping open as she stared at Lin Dong in disbelief: "You...you actually know about peacocks?"

"How difficult is that? Since we were able to capture you, do you think the peacock can escape?"

"Impossible! You'll never find Master Kong..."

"Oh? Master Kong? Could it be that this peacock is male?"

Phoenix's expression changed, realizing she had misspoke, and she quickly shut her mouth to cover it up, letting out a cold snort.

Lin Dong smiled meaningfully, then waved behind him. Feng Zi, understanding the situation, brought over a wooden chair.

Lin Dong sat down, no longer looking down at the phoenix; his current position was closer to the phoenix.

The oppressive feeling that Phoenix had just experienced instantly lessened considerably.

Looking at that handsome face so close to her, Phoenix's heart started pounding uncontrollably.

She seemed to sense that something was wrong, but couldn't quite put her finger on it.

From the moment she first saw Lin Dong, her thoughts and emotions were irresistibly drawn to him.

This was unbelievable, and even disastrous, for Phoenix, who had undergone rigorous special agent training.

Because she knew her mental defenses were about to crumble.

It was only a matter of time before he revealed his deepest secrets...

"Lin Dong...you...you devil!"

Beads of sweat the size of soybeans slid down Phoenix's cheeks, her pale face making her appear somewhat pitiful against her cold beauty.
