Chapter 99 Leaving Northern Myanmar, First Visit to the White House Sauna

Before departing for northern Myanmar, Lin Dong specifically took care of two things:

First, Lin Dong partnered with Wang Hu to establish Xiangzhang Tourism Real Estate Industry Group Company, with Lin Dong investing 200 million yuan and holding a 51% stake.

The recruitment of office space and personnel for Xiangzhang Group is proceeding at a rapid pace.

Thanks to Wang Hu's efforts in smoothing things over, the land use rights for 3,000 mu of land near Xiangzhang Village have been basically secured.

Once the official approval is issued, the project can be started quickly.

Of course, the trivial issues encountered in land expropriation should not be difficult to resolve with Wang Hu's ruthless methods as the "King of the North District".

Once completed, this project, driven by tourism and commerce, will bring Lin Dong hundreds of billions of yuan in benefits within 20 years.

Secondly, Lin Dong called Ling Xiaoxiao to discuss their initial intention to cooperate on an underground bank.

Ling Xiaoxiao, who was far away in the capital, was just looking for an opportunity to win over Lin Dong, so he naturally agreed to this good opportunity.

They were just waiting for Lin Dong to return from northern Myanmar so they could lead their team north to devise a grand plan to make money.

......

On March 2nd, at 10 PM, Lin Dong and his group of four finally arrived at Laogai, the central city of Kokang in northern Myanmar.

Hengsheng Hotel is one of only two 5-star hotels in the Kokang region, located near the Bai family's "New Haojiang Casino".

Therefore, even though it was late at night, the hotel lobby was still brightly lit and bustling with people.

Lin Dong and his three companions got out of the taxi at the hotel entrance and carried their suitcases into the lobby on the first floor.

After everyone settled into the lobby's lounge area, Fengzi went to the front desk and asked:

Hello, do you speak Mandarin?

“Hello sir, we all speak Mandarin. In Kokang, Mandarin is the common language.”

A young female waitress in a red hotel uniform responded politely.

“Very good. Could you please check and see that Mr. Lin Dong’s room reservation was made by Mr. Kun Sheng.”

"Oh? Sir, please wait a moment. I'll notify our manager to come and make arrangements right away."

Upon hearing the name Kun Sheng, the waitress's expression changed drastically. She nervously grabbed the landline phone at the front desk and dialed an internal number.

Soon, a man in his thirties wearing a black suit hurried over:

"Hello, are you Mr. Lin Dong?"

“No, Mr. Lin is in the rest area. I am his subordinate.”

"Oh, then please take me to see Mr. Lin. Mr. Kun Sheng has already given instructions, and your room has been booked."

So enthusiastic?

It seems that this Kun Sheng is quite famous and can be considered a big shot in northern Myanmar.

With the hotel manager's warm and thoughtful arrangements, Lin Dong and his group quickly and smoothly checked in.

The hotel's 12th floor features a deluxe guest room area.

Lin Dong occupied a suite by himself, while Jun Shen, Feng Zi, and Ying Yan shared a room.

Lin Dong had just entered the room and put his luggage down when his phone rang:

"Mr. Lin, have you arrived at the hotel?"

A gloomy male voice came through the phone; it was Kun Sheng.

"Mr. Kun, thank you for your hospitality. We have already checked in."

"Haha...that's good. Mr. Lin, are you satisfied with the room we arranged?"

"Very satisfied, thank you again, Mr. Kun."

"Good, in my Kun Sheng territory, it's my honor to have satisfied customers, haha..."

The hearty laughter on the phone was so loud it could be heard almost throughout the entire room.

"Mr. Lin, you can take a hot shower first. I'll send a car to pick you up later. When you come to the old street, how can you miss out on some special entertainment?"

"You're too kind, Mr. Kun. Goodbye."

......

Lin Dong hung up the phone, lay down fully clothed on the large bed in the guest room, and his mind kept racing.

This arms dealer, Kun Sheng, appeared incredibly enthusiastic on the surface, but in reality, he was constantly probing my situation.

These old foxes in the underworld, aren't they all driven by self-interest?

He may seem to be arranging luxurious rooms and taking you out for food, drinks, and entertainment, but all of this comes at a price.

If you've accepted someone's favor, how can you possibly haggle over prices in subsequent arms deals, even if they deliberately inflate the price?

Half an hour later, there was a knock on Lin Dong's door.

Lin Dong sat up abruptly in bed, and with a sweep of his X-ray vision, he could see everything outside the door.

A tall man, who looked to be about thirty-five or thirty-six years old, was standing in front of the guest room door.

He was wearing a gray-blue informal uniform and a gray-blue baseball cap.

His face was cold and stern, exuding a ruthless and undisguised murderous aura that seemed to be palpable even through a wooden door.

Lin Dong discovered two guns on this man:

One was a short and powerful "Scorpion" submachine gun, tucked behind the man's right hip.

There was also a Browning 9mm pistol hidden in the man's left trouser leg.

A sharp military dagger was strapped to the inside of his right trouser leg.

This guy doesn't look like a good person at first glance.

The cold-blooded gunman, Yan Cheng

The knocking on the guest room door started again, this time accompanied by a slightly hoarse voice:

"Is Mr. Lin here? My name is Yan Cheng. I was sent by Mr. Kunsheng to pick you up."

Lin Dong opened the door, revealing two rows of neat, white teeth:

"Oh, so you're one of Boss Kun's men. Judging from your demeanor, I thought you were a cold-blooded killer."

"Mr. Lin, you flatter me. I am merely an errand boy for Mr. Kun Sheng. May Mr. Lin set off now?"

Yan Cheng's expression hardened, and he answered somewhat awkwardly.
