In the dense jungle, a team of 12 people is crossing a mountain stream.
The clothes and disguises of these people were stained with blood, and some team members had bandages on their hands and feet in more than one place.
After an hour of fleeing, the guerrillas lost another four men, and the rest were all wounded.
Faced with two 30-man Mountain Eagle Special Forces teams, their fierce and ruthless pursuit left Kun Zhonglun's mountain guerrilla team utterly helpless.
These people can be considered the strongest fighting force in Kunzhai.
They're fine against regular troops, but the problem is, they're facing the Mountain Eagles, who are said to be among the top three in the world for mountain special operations.
Fortunately, Kun Zhonglun was very familiar with the terrain of this area and avoided several near-total annihilation crises.
The constant attrition along the way, coupled with the frustration of being forced to flee rather than confront the enemy head-on, drove Kun Zhonglun to the brink of madness...
The departure of his familiar brothers, especially the death of Monkey, was a huge blow to him.
If it weren't for a lingering belief that sustained him, he would have collapsed long ago.
"The enemy is too strong, their weapons are more advanced than ours, and they outnumber us. This is not a solution."
After crossing the stream, Kunzhonglun took advantage of a brief rest to express his thoughts:
“We need to escape separately. I’ll lead the third team to draw away the pursuers. Kunsa, you take the second team and wade across the river to the north.”
"After arriving at supply point number 6, hide temporarily and contact command as soon as possible to report the situation here."
In the queue, a 30-year-old man called Kunsa's expression changed, and he immediately objected:
"No, you're the leader. The guerrillas need you, and you have to report on many situations in person."
"I'll lead the second team to draw the enemy away, you go to supply point number 6!"
Kun Zhonglun's eyes were bloodshot, but his tone remained perfectly calm:
"Don't argue, this is an order!"
Kunsha stared at the captain's blood-stained face, his eyes filled with determination:
"Then I have no choice but to disobey orders this once. Second squad, follow me forward!"
After saying that, Kunsha disappeared into the woods without looking back, and the five members of the second team followed without hesitation...
Kun Zhonglun tried to stop them, but it was too late. He stamped his foot and shouted at their retreating figures in a deep voice:
You must come back alive!
As evening approached, half of the setting sun disappeared behind the distant mountain ridges.
The golden-red afterglow reflected on the river, somewhat resembling the tragic blood flowing from a battle...
"Go down to the river and head north!"
Kun Zhonglun slung his gun over his shoulder and led the way into the stream, wading hurriedly northward through the shallow water.
Behind him followed five teammates, their expressions sorrowful yet resolute.
Everyone knew that Kunsa and his men had zero chance of surviving if they went to lure the enemy away.
In this mountain forest, six wounded men had to face a pursuit by a Mountain Eagle Special Forces team that outnumbered them tenfold. There was no way any miracle could happen.

Twenty minutes later, Angduk's Mountain Eagle First Squadron also crossed the river.
He crouched by the woods on the riverbank, carefully observing the tracks left by his prey on the grass.
"Report to the battalion commander, the second company is on a forced march and has reached Leech Valley, 3 kilometers ahead, and is setting up an ambush."
The communications soldier jogged over, stood at attention, and said...
Angduk nodded, his brow furrowing slightly:
"Understood. Notify the Second Squadron that once the prey enters the enclosure, tighten the trap immediately. This time, we cannot let another enemy escape."
"receive!"
Angduk clapped his hands, stood up, and walked along the grass to the riverbank.
He stared at a clump of grass on the riverbank, bent low by footprints, for a while, and finally made a judgment:
This cunning guerrilla group, with only about 10 men left, actually split up.
After splitting up, heading north along the stream leads to even more desolate deep mountains, while heading south leads to the mountain road into Eagle Valley.
Angduk could almost certainly conclude that heading north into the deep mountains was the only way for these people to survive.
This is because the intelligence gathered by the military indicated that this guerrilla group had set up more than one wartime supply point deep in the mountains.
"Trying to escape? Not so easy!"
A contemptuous and cold smile appeared on Angduk's dark face:
"Order: The First Company will split into two 10-man squads to pursue the enemy northward along the river. The enemy has most likely already split up and fled."
"The rest of you, join me at the Second Company and we'll wipe out the remaining enemy!"
.................................................
Eagle Valley, the wartime command post of Kunzhai.
Lin Dong, who was sitting in the operations room smoking, had just received intelligence from Kun Feng:
The mountain guerrillas, who had been making great strides in battle for the past few days, were suddenly ambushed and pursued by an elite enemy special forces unit today.
The guerrillas suffered heavy losses. Of the original three squads, including the captain Kun Zhonglun, which totaled 31 men, only 5 were lost after several days of fighting.
After encountering this mysterious unit, 20 of them were killed in action within just a few hours.
Such severe battle losses were hard for Kunfeng to accept for a time.
"Do you know the unit number of this enemy unit?"
Lin Dong asked, still relatively calm at this moment, because he had considered this possibility from the beginning.
That's why he specifically instructed his brothers before they left: if the battle losses are severe, immediately retreat into the deep mountains and lie in ambush, waiting for an opportunity.
