July 18th.
A very explosive piece of news spread throughout the Hong Kong underworld:
"In the early hours of this morning, the long-established Chao Gang branch in Wan Chai was completely uprooted."
The triad landscape in Wan Chai changed overnight.
The instigator of this incident was none other than the Hong Kong Dragon Gang, led by Cheung Tsz-keung and Yip Chi-foon.
In this battle, the Chao Gang suffered more than 400 casualties, setting a record for the Hong Kong underworld: the deadliest gang fight since the opening of Hong Kong.
Guo Tao, the notorious "Tiger of Wanchai," was stabbed more than a dozen times and died from his injuries.
His lead horse, Golden Hair, fared even worse; it was stabbed dozens of times during the fight and died on the spot.
The people who came to collect his body were so disgusted by the sight of his bloody intestines sticking out that they vomited up their dinner from the night before...
From that day on, the Dragon Gang took over all of the Chao Gang's businesses in Wan Chai.
This includes underground casinos, bars, nightclubs, saunas, film studios, modeling agencies, and arcades.
The small and medium-sized forces in Wan Chai that had once been affiliated with Guo Tao quickly changed their flags and joined the Dragon Gang.
The reputations of these two notorious bandit kings were not to be underestimated.
Given the precedent of the Wan Chai Tiger being brought down, who would dare to utter a single disrespectful word?
With this battle, the Hong Kong Island Dragon Gang fired its first shot in the Hong Kong underworld, and it was an incredibly stunning one at that.
The following morning, Cheung Tsz-keung announced that the entire Hong Kong Island Dragon Gang would be stationed in Wan Chai.
To celebrate the Dragon Gang's victory.
That evening, the Dragon Gang will host a 100-table banquet at Wo Hing Lou, the largest Cantonese seafood restaurant in Wan Chai, to invite all their fellow gangsters from Hong Kong Island.
Aside from their arch-rival, the Chao Gang, almost every major and minor force in the martial arts world that was well-known received an invitation from the Dragon Gang.
The Dragon Gang's bizarre actions left all the major and minor factions, still in shock, completely bewildered.
Damn it, we just wiped out one of their gangs and took over their territory.
They haven't even settled into their new position in Wan Chai yet, and they're already throwing a huge celebration banquet?
The Dragon Gang's behavior can no longer be described simply as "arrogant".
You've made such a huge mess, shouldn't you keep a low profile for a while?
Do you think the Hong Kong police really can't see it?
Or perhaps they've simply ignored the 53-year-old Chaozhou gang leader, Ou Chaoyuan?
Surprisingly, for some reason, the police haven't taken any major action regarding this gang fight.
Instead, they sent a team of O-Division officers to investigate the area where the fight took place on Lee Tung Street for most of the day, questioning many eyewitnesses.
(PS: O-Division, short for Organized Crime and Triad Bureau.)
The Organized Crime and Triad Bureau (OCTB), which is usually extremely efficient, has acted unusually this time by not detaining any high-ranking members of the Dragon Gang, one of the participants in the incident.
They only took away a dozen or so Dragon Gang underlings, allowing several eyewitnesses from that day to identify them one by one.
In a chaotic battle involving over a thousand people at night, with the streetlights dim, how could you expect so-called eyewitnesses who were hiding upstairs and peeking out to identify the people?
Isn't this blatantly a perfunctory job and a show of bias?
By this point, even the most foolish person would realize that the Wan Chai Chiu Gang was wiped out so easily this time, most likely because of police leniency.
Then, recalling that night, a large number of police cars only arrived late, after the Dragon Gang had achieved a complete victory and began to retreat.
You say there's nothing fishy going on? Nobody would believe that.
Thus, another rumor about the destruction of the Chao Gang's Wan Chai branch quickly spread:
In order to replace the outrageous Wan Chai Chiu Gang, the Hong Kong police tacitly approved of this gang fight, and afterwards did not pursue the Dragon Gang's responsibility extensively.
.................................................
July 19, 7 PM.
The first and second floors of Hexing Restaurant were packed.
A celebratory banquet with 100 tables was held, filled with sumptuous meat dishes and drinks.
To show off the prestige of the Dragon Gang, Zhang Ziqiang went all out this time.
Each table not only has a whole roasted suckling pig, but also specially ordered deep-sea lobster, geoduck, shark fin, bird's nest, salmon sashimi, etc. from the restaurant.
Besides beer, the drinks served at the banquet included XO, Rémy Martin, Moutai, and all kinds of spirits, both foreign and Chinese.
What made the banquet attendees feel even more outrageously extravagant was that every bigwig from the underworld who attended received a generous gift from the Dragon Gang:
A 1.5-foot-tall statue of Guan Yu made of pure gold.
Judging from the shape and craftsmanship of this Guan Gong statue, it must have been made by a master craftsman.
Strangely, where did the Dragon Gang get so many gold statues in just two days?
Unless, of course, they were prepared in advance.
Did Cheung Tsz-keung, who led the team back to Hong Kong, already have the idea of occupying territory?
Moreover, they had already prepared the gifts for the victory celebration banquet before the war even started.
The Dragon Gang's formidable strength and generous style once again shocked a group of martial arts bigwigs.
......
This is exactly the effect Zhang Ziqiang wanted.
Boss Lin once said that no matter where the Dragon Gang goes, they will become the absolute overlord.
Those who are willing to follow will be given generous gifts, and they will be made rich together.
Those who are unwilling, or even those who oppose the Dragon Gang, are sorry, there are only two possible outcomes:
Eliminated, or dead.
......
Jiang Zhongfa, who came to the banquet today, appeared to be in high spirits.
He sat next to Zhang Ziqiang at the head of the table.
Since the start of the meal, the two have already clinked glasses of foreign liquor no less than 10 times.
Fortunately, Zhang Ziqiang has a naturally high alcohol tolerance.
