Chapter 394 New York's Chinatown, a Hub of Gangs

The turmoil in the island nation has come to an end.

On April 6, 1997, Lin Dong bid farewell to Yamada Tomoko, who was reluctant to part with him, and embarked on a journey to the United States.

This time, he did not travel by his own private jet.

Instead, they departed from Tokyo Haneda Airport and took an international flight to New York.

Of course, he didn't board the plane openly with his passport in hand.

With such an awesome shielding and invisibility ability, it would be as easy for him to travel by plane for free as eating and drinking.

The Airbus A280 that had accompanied him for two months flew back to Hong Kong Island to rest and recuperate.

Since Mr. Lin doesn't need to travel by private jet, this period is the most relaxed time for the flight crew.

Salary will be paid as usual, and holidays will be observed.

Serving such an extravagant boss is absolutely fantastic.

Some people enjoy it immensely, while others will feel disappointed.

After Lin Dong left alone on the flight, Xiao Rong, the chief flight attendant of the A280, felt as if half of her heart had been ripped out, and became depressed.

....................................

New York City, South Manhattan, Chinatown.

As night falls, the neon lights shimmer with colorful light.

The bustling and vibrant streets were filled with the sounds of people.

Car horns, vendors' cries, haggling, arguments...

It never stopped.

The streets are filled with yellow-skinned East Asian faces, and the occasional smell of stinky tofu mingles with the aromas of various snacks.

It makes you feel like you've returned to your distant homeland...

Lin Dong strolled leisurely through Chinatown like a lazy tourist.

Look around, look east and west.

Sometimes, when I see food that I like, I'll stop and try it.

This kind of everyday life in the city is what Lin Dong really longs for.

My path to dominating the martial arts world was simply a matter of fate.

Around 8 p.m., he found the house that Fengzi had mentioned in an inconspicuous residential area.

The three-story old building had electrical wires strung all over its exterior walls.

On the balconies of the second and third floors, there are still clothes hanging out to dry by the tenants.

The room on the third floor was lit up, and a cactus was placed in the flower bed on the right side of the balcony.

This is the secret code that Lin Dong and he agreed upon:

The lights are on; people are there.

With the cactus on the right, everything is safe.

Lin Dong activated his Heavenly Eye, looked up and scanned the area, gaining a clear understanding of the situation inside and outside the building.

In the living room on the third floor, Fengzi was sitting on the sofa, legs crossed, watching a video with great interest.

On the screen, the sounds of intense fighting from a Hong Kong-style martial arts movie filled the air...

This guy seems to be doing quite well living here all by himself.

Lin Dong chuckled and shook his head, then stepped upstairs.

......

In the living room on the third floor, Fengzi was engrossed in watching "Fist of Legend".

"Tap tap tap, tap, tap!"

Suddenly, the wooden door rang with the pre-arranged knock signal he and Lin Dong had agreed upon:

One long, two short.

Holy crap, the boss got here so fast?!

Did he travel by plane or ship?

Out of caution, Fengzi asked one more question:

Who is it?

"I'm your grandpa, open the door!"

Upon hearing Lin Dong's voice, Feng Zi quickly opened the door.

The two looked at each other, both able to see the excitement in the other's eyes.

"Boss, you're finally here! I've missed you so much!"

Fengzi rushed over and hugged Lin Dong tightly.

"I don't believe you for a second. You think I won't see you lose weight? Haha..."

Lin Dong laughed heartily, patted him on the back happily, and felt joyful.

The brotherhood between the two can be expressed with just a hug, without needing any further words.

"Boss, don't wrong me, I've lost three pounds."

Fengzi immediately cried out that he was innocent.

Lin Dong hugged his shoulders tightly: "Stop talking nonsense, let's go inside and talk."

After closing the door, Fengzi turned off the recording.

Lin Dong reached out to stop him: "Don't turn it off. A little noise will make our conversation more interesting."

Do you have any wine?

"Of course, boss, is it baijiu or beer?"

"Let's make the white stuff, and also get a plate of peanuts."

"Okay! Coming right away."

A short while later.

Two renowned men, sharing a plate of peanuts and a bottle of Jiannanchun, the most popular liquor in Chinatown, began drinking together, one cup after another.

"Your skin's gotten darker after a few months," Lin Dong joked.

Fengzi said with a bitter face, "Isn't it all because I've been working so hard for you, boss, that I got sunburned?"

"Don't give me that. You, Feng Zi, are the leader of the Sky Eye organization. Do you need to run errands yourself?"

"Boss, you don't know this, but when you're doing business in the United States, especially in Chinatown, you can't take it easy. I often have to do everything myself."

"Alright, you've been here for almost four months now, how's the mission going?"

Lin Dong smiled and popped another peanut into his mouth.

"It's a must to complete the tasks assigned by the boss!" Fengzi said proudly, raising his head.

"Then tell me in detail."

"Okay!"

Fengzi took a sip of baijiu and put down his crystal glass: "Boss, before reporting on our work results, I have some new intelligence to share."

"What intelligence? Tell me."

"Starting three days ago, many high-ranking officials in the United States seemed to have made a pact to go on vacation together."

"A group vacation? What's going on?" Lin Dong was taken aback.

"The specific reasons are unknown, but the president, the secretary of defense, the secretary of state, and the director of the CIA have all disappeared."

Fengzi's expression was strange:

"Their public claim is that they're going on vacation abroad, but the specific itinerary is uncertain. I think they're afraid, afraid that you, boss, will come to collect the debt."
